Now Durocher wants women deacons? You're having a busy day on Vox, Bish!

Well, we can see that our Canadian Bishops are taking a nice leading role at the Synod. It wasn't enough that this one got in a dust-up over dogma (one post below), now he wants Deaconesses!

I thought this was a Synod on the Family.

Let's see, no dogma, now he wants to exalt women where they cannot be.

Hmmm, what else does this Bishop dissent on or seek change in.

What's that about smoke and fire?

Here are his links to his blog Sing and Walk. Here is his BookFace and you can Tweet him here.

Bishop, you're a disgrace to the Church and a fool. You are a scandal and an affront to the Faith.

Here’s his blog, Sing and Walk. Here’s his facebook page and you can Tweet him too.

You change your blog name to SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN!

What a joke you are; what an utter embarrassment.

O LORD JESUS CHRIST, SON OF THE LIVING GOD, GRANT US PEACE IN YOUR MERCY, WE BESEECH YOU TO DELIVER US FROM THESE UNFAITHFUL AND TREACHEROUS MEN DISGUISED AS SHEPHERDS;
IN YOUR MERCY LORD, HERE OUR PRAYER!

Canadian Archbishop Paul-Andre Durocher of Gatineau, Quebec, arrives for the opening Mass of the Synod of Bishops on the family celebrated by Pope Francis in St. Peter's Basilica Oct. 4. (CNS/Paul Haring)
By Carol Glatz Catholic News Service

VATICAN CITY (CNS) — Canadian Archbishop Paul-Andre Durocher of Gatineau, Quebec, said the synod should reflect on the possibility of allowing for female deacons as it seeks ways to open up more opportunities for women in church life.

(...)

Discussing a number of proposals he offered the synod fathers to think about, he said, “I think we should really start looking seriously at the possibility of ordaining women deacons because the diaconate in the church’s tradition has been defined as not being ordered toward priesthood but toward ministry.”

How does someone this ignorant, this uneducated become a Bishop of the Catholic Church? Don't tell me there isn't some kind of conspiracy to destroy the church from within.

What have deaconesses to do with the Family? Perhaps this man should be more concerned with the mass apostasy in the pew. Obviously he cares little that the vast majority of Catholics in Canada approve of contraception; or that they approve of sodomy, or wink at abortion.

Let's say that the liberals (95% of dioceses) install women deaconesses by way of "confusion, ambiguity" or outright rebellion as Marx and Kasper have threatened with Communion for divorced and remarried. No one foresaw Latin being abrogated and vilified immediately after Vii. 99% of Catholics don't read Vox, The Remnant, et al, and "if it's OK with the bishop (and the pope), it's must be Catholic." The Church moves further into the Protestant camp and most are oblivious. Michael Voris admonishes the faithful to carry on the good fight in their Ortho Novum parish, to “become a light” out in the dioceses. Michael is childless, but one wonders if Christine takes her children to a Communion in hand, vacuum cleaner in the confessional, hootenanny Mass. Do her boys serve with the altar girls? Do they sing 'Amazing Grace' and hold hands? My guess is that Detroit is large enough to where she can find a 'better' parish where you might still find a communion rail; but how long before girls start serving at TLM? The tiny % of Catholics who know they're being sold down the river now 'parish shop', even priest shop. Since the 'innovation' of the card table altar, versus populum has made the priest with the best voice, teeth and hair a demi-rock star, along with the good looking lead singer in the 'Jam for Jesus' quartet. Protestants are at an advantage in church shopping. If they don't like the preacher, they try another of the same denomination. If unavailable, they try another of the 10,000 denominations until they find the one that's "just right". 99% of Catholics still accept that their parish, their priest is Catholic, the way it's supposed to be. The effeminate sermonizing and habitual focus on the poor either feminizes the men and boys or leads them to drift away, altogether. Keep your children away from the Ortho Novum Missae, unless you are childless. Then, read Vox Cantoris, et al, and pray.

Anonymous, how does someone this ignorant become a bishop in the Catholic Church?
...and the million dollar answer is...the same way that all the other ignorant Bishops get there...it is a constant undermining for over 50 years, a carefully planned agenda to push liberal prelates to the highest ranks in their hope of undermining and destroying the Holy Church from within...they think they are succeeding, it may appear that they are succeeding, but if you look carefully, these evils have been exposing themselves for a number of years now, more boldly recently..Remember anything that is hidden in darkness and remains in darkness grows in evil, once on the surface this evil will have to face the LIGHT. Let them all come out with their agendas, with their ideologies, with their 'plans' to change doctrine, to change the Church instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ..the hell they have unleashed will not prevail against the Bride of Christ, we must remain in that Truth. Always remember Mary, Mother of Sorrows, she remained faithful, she remained by her Son, together in His suffering, with Faith and complete trust in God and in the Resurrection.. Though it is difficult to persevere through all that is happening, we must remain faithful to God, to His Words, which are UNCHANGING. We can only feel sorry for these people (especially the consecrated souls) who have so obviously been steered off the right path. Pray for them that God have mercy on them, that they repent (sooner than later) and let them know, out of true charity. Let you pastors, let your priests know..it starts with us, in our smaller circles, in our parishes. Don't stay silent in the presence of such abuses and evils..say what you can, do what you can according to your state in life. God Bless !

While I see no point in "deaconesses" in our Church today side from progressives still trying to one day see women priests (not gonna happen of course), they [deaconesses] are not completely unheard of in our Church's history.

What their role actually was and how it would be today is really the question.
