Bergoglio blesses people with the Archlayman of Canterbury

Image result for pope welby

Mr. Justin Welby is no more a priest or bishop than I. Anglican orders are "null and void." This has been the case centuries and declared by Leo XIII. He is a fraud, the Archlayman of Canterbury. He can bless his children or his dog, maybe, but that is it.

For Jorge Bergoglio, or any pope including Benedict XVI, to appear in "clerics" with these men is to perpetuate a fraud. A fraud of lies, murder, adultery and deceit on which that sect was founded.

More relevantly, it is an insult to those believing Anglicans who have achieved union with the Church through the Ordinariate.

Tens of thousands of faithful Catholics went to their glorious martyrdoms to remain faithful to Christ and His Church. Only to see from heaven the Vicar of Christ cavorting with fraudulent bishops and thieves possessing the churches where those saints once worshipped.

Lund is coming.

These popes are a cause of scandal.

Missal Launch on Advent I for the Anglican Ordinariate of the Catholic Church

Father Alan MacDonald at Southern Orders put his own honest views forward and reprints post from Father James Bradley, a priest of the Anglican Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, informative of the new Ordinariate Missal. It comes into effect tomorrow Advent I, 2015, in the the three Ordinariates, Our Lady of Walsingham in the United Kingdom, Southern Cross in Australia and Chair of St. Peter in the United States and the Canadian Deanery of St. John the Baptist. Another insight can be found at the National Catholic Register further highlighting the injustice suffered by Latin Rite Catholics who know nothing of our liturgical tradition so richly embraced by the Anglican Ordinariate parishes. When one sees the beauty and richness of this Missal one can only weep at what we in the Latin Rite have been forced to suffer.

The Missal is an incredible blending of the Roman Missal of 1570, elements of 1970 and the English Catholic cultural character of the ancient Sarum of pre-revolution England. It is superior in every single aspect to the Roman Missal of 1970 even with its corrected English translation. The English can never be as correct as found in this Missal. Photos of the Missal's contents can be found here and here

The traditional Preparatory prayers may be said in the sacristy as originally done or at the Foot of the Altar. The Gradual and Tract/Alleluia may always be used in place of the Responsorial Psalm and Acclamation and the traditional Offertory is the first option. Rogation and Ember Days return as do the Gesima Sundays and the Dies Irae and the full Proper antiphons. The Roman Canon (EPI) is for Sundays and EPII is the only other option and never on a Sunday or feast day.

It is truly a heartbreak that, at least in Toronto, the parish and Ordinariate are so little known. If I were not able to attend the Extraordinary Form, I would depart the Novus Ordo as quick as I could and get to the Ordinariate Mass. It is my view, this Missal in the not too distant future when Rome returns to sanity, will be the model for the return to a mandated and formalised Reform of the Reform that will once and for all, abrogate the disaster of 1970 to the dustbin of history.

The Toronto Anglican Ordinariate Parish of St. Thomas More worships on Sundays at 4:00PM at Sacre-Coeur Church on Sherbourne Street. East of Toronto, in Oshawa, you can find Good Shepherd Parish and west in Kitchener, St. Edmund, King & Martyr.

Epiphany Eventide - Toronto Anglican Ordinariate

Something beautiful is happening in Toronto in the liturgy and the worship of Our Lord - the Anglican Ordinariate. Each Sunday, there is a Mass according to the Anglican Use that any Roman Catholic can attend and receive the Holy Eucharist fulfilling one's Sunday Obligation. We have in Oshawa the Sodality of the Good Shepherd and in Toronto, the Toronto Anglican Use Sodality which will soon have its own named Patron Saint. Their blogs, in addition to Peregrinations - A Canadian view of Anglican Catholic Issues have now been listed prominently on the left side to easily access their news and their apostolates.

The Toronto Anglican Use Sodality now has a Sung Mass weekly in traditional sacral language on Sundays at 1:45 pm at Sacré-Coeur Church (Sherbourne at Carlton). Why not consider sharing in the beauty of patrimonial texts and music to worship God in the unity of the Catholic faith but in this beautiful English tradition with its roots in the Sarum Rite. All Catholics may fulfill their Sunday obligation at this afternoon Mass and visitors are most welcome to receive a blessing and join for fellowship afterwards. A childrens' programme is provided during the Liturgy of the Word. The choir is simply glorious and sings in both English and Latin.

How wonderful that this year, all of us are on the same page when it comes to the celebration of the Epiphany. The calenders of the OF, EF and AU all coincide. Of course, the problem really lies with the Canadian bishops keeping Epiphany as a Holy Day of Obligation but only celebrated on Sunday thus we have the absurdity of its celebration as early as January 2 or as late as January 8! The EF and AU calenders always observe the proper Feast on January 6. What better way is there to continue the celebration of this Christmas season by by coming together this Sunday evening?

The Ordinariate in Canada is not yet established independently, but Canada is now the Deanery of St. John the Baptist under the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter in the United State of America. If you are an Anglican or Protestant who is considering entry into the Catholic Church, why not consider the wonderful opportunity provided by our Holy Father, Benedict XVI gloriously reigning under the provisions of Anglicanorum Coetibus?

Anglican Use Catholic Mass today at Kitchener

St.Mary's Catholic Church in Kitchener, Ontario will host on a monthly basis the Holy Mass According to the Anglican Catholic Use beginning today at 5:00PM. The Sodality of St. Edmund, King and Martyr is a Catholic Community for the Anglican Use in the Diocese of Hamilton.

St. Mary's is located at 56 Duke Street in Kitchener and is under the guidance of the Religious of the Congregation of the Resurrection. The bulletin last week had this to say: "In keeping with the Church’s desire for Christian Unity expressed at Vatican II, all Catholics are invited to participate in an Anglican Use Mass. This is a Catholic Mass and fulfills your Sunday obligation. St. Mary’s will host the AU Mass monthly at 5pm. Please consider attending and supporting Christians of Anglican patrimony who are in full communion with Rome. Let us celebrate together this significant step toward Christian Unity."

The liturgy can be found here.

Father George Nowak, CR, Pastor of St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows, in Kitchener has kindly invited the Sodality to celebrate the Anglican Use Mass. Father Nowak has been very supportive having invited the Sodality to Vespers and Benediction, about 18 months ago, with a Reception following, to discuss Anglicanorum coetibus with Catholics from various Parishes in the area.
Father William Foote, the Chaplain, (and Pastor of St. Patrick's in Cambridge) will be the celebrant.
Mr. Robert Tasse, the Music Director at St. Mary's will be the organist. The Cantor will be Mr. Andrew Malton, a parishioner of St. Louis' Waterloo.

May God bless Father Nowak, CR and the good people at St. Mary's Kitchener and the Sodality of St. Edmund, King and Martyr.

Toronto Anglican Ordinariate Sodality

Today, Sunday  May 6, the Toronto Sodality of the Anglican Use will celebrate its first Holy Mass according to the Anglican Use. Congratulations to all those Anglicans in Toronto who have entered the Catholic Church and have the grace to have this wonderful liturgy. \

It is with great joy that the Toronto Sodality of the Anglican Use announces weekly Masses according to the Anglican Use starting Sunday, May 6th, 2012. Please spread the word!

Mass will be held every Sunday at 1:45pm at Sacré-Coeur (the Church of the Sacred Heart) at 381 Sherbourne St, at the corner of Sherbourne and Carlton, in downtown Toronto.  Anglican Use Masses fulfill Sunday obligation for all Catholics, regardless of whether or not they are of an Anglican background.  There is parking immediately north of the Church, a children’s program during the Liturgy of the Word, and coffee hour afterward.

The Toronto Anglican Use Sodality is a group of Catholics coming from the Anglican tradition who are in full communion with the Pope and who strive to preserve and celebrate our Anglican heritage as a Catholic parish church.

In the words of Anglicanorum Coetibus, we “celebrate the Holy Eucharist and the other Sacraments, the Liturgy of the Hours and other liturgical celebrations according to the liturgical books proper to the Anglican tradition, which have been approved by the Holy See, so as to maintain the liturgical, spiritual and pastoral traditions of the Anglican Communion within the Catholic Church, as a precious gift nourishing the faith of the members of the Ordinariate and as a treasure to be shared.”

Everyone is welcome to attend and we hope to see you there.

First Anglican Divine Worship in Toronto!

History being made...

Tomorrow evening, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the LORD, will be the first time in the Archdiocese of Toronto and all of Canada that the Holy Mass will be celebrated according to the Anglican Use Missal. The Mass, not only authorized, but requested by Archbishop Thomas Collins will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mississauga as part of the Anglicanorum Coetibus in Canada Conference being held t his weekend. Archbishop Collins is Delegate of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith for Anglicanorum Coetibus in Canada. Father Christopher Phillips, Pastor, Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas is the Celebrant. He is the founding pastor of the first Anglican Use parish, erected in 1983 under the terms of the Pastoral Provision. Together with Archbishop Collins and Father Phillips, the other Keynote Speaker is Father Aidan Nichols, O.P. Father Nichols has the honorary status of Affiliated Lecturer in the University of Cambridge. He has also taught at the Pontifical University of St Thomas, Rome; St Mary’s College, Oscott; and Blackfriars Hall, Oxford. He has published some thirty books, and over seventy articles.

The Anglican Use Missal is the approved Missal by the Holy See for those Anglicans entering the Church under the Pastoral Provision of Pope John Paul II. The Pastoral Provision was initiated for married Episcopalian clergy to become ordained as Catholic priests who with their parishes chose to come into union with the one true Church. The provision has been only for the United States and was never applied to Canada. This provision is specific and those church communities under the Traditional Anglican Communion are not part of it. Though, clearly a new strucuture for all Anglicans is being established under Anglicanorum Coetibus.

The Missal is beautiful. Also known as the Book of Divine Worship, the Anglican Use Missal is based on the Book of Common Prayer, itself a protestant version of the Mass in England at the time of the break under Henry VIII and based upon what would have been the Sarum Rite, its protestantism stripped away and parts of it brought into conformity with the Missa Normative (Novus Ordo liturgy) specifically the Offertory and the Mystery of Faith. Fortunately, they will be able to correct the 1970 ICEL language in these parts. The final Missal or Missals to be used by the Anglican Ordinariates are not yet known.

St. Joseph's Parish in Mississauga hosted a chant conference recently with Father Samuel Weber, Director of the Institute of Sacred Music for the Archdiocese of Saint Louis in the United States.

First Anglican Ordinariate Erected in England

From the Vatican Information Service:

VATICAN CITY, 15 JAN 2011 (VIS) - "In accordance with the provisions of the Apostolic Constitution 'Anglicanorum coetibus' of Pope Benedict XVI (4 November 2009) and after careful consultation with the Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has today erected a Personal Ordinariate within the territory of England and Wales for those groups of Anglican clergy and faithful who have expressed their desire to enter into full visible communion with the Catholic Church", reads an English-language communique released today. "The Decree of Erection specifies that the Ordinariate will be known as the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham and will be placed under the patronage of Blessed John Henry Newman.

"A Personal Ordinariate is a canonical structure that provides for corporate reunion in such a way that allows former Anglicans to enter full communion with the Catholic Church while preserving elements of their distinctive Anglican patrimony. With this structure, the Apostolic Constitution 'Anglicanorum coetibus' seeks to balance on the one hand the concern to preserve the worthy Anglican liturgical, spiritual and pastoral traditions and, on the other hand, the concern that these groups and their clergy will be fully integrated into the Catholic Church.

"For doctrinal reasons the Church does not, in any circumstances, allow the ordination of married men as bishops. However, the Apostolic Constitution does provide, under certain conditions, for the ordination as Catholic priests of former Anglican married clergy. Today at Westminster Cathedral in London, Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster, ordained to the Catholic priesthood three former Anglican bishops: Reverend Andrew Burnham, Reverend Keith Newton, and Reverend John Broadhurst.

"Also today Pope Benedict XVI has nominated Reverend Keith Newton as the first Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. Together with Reverend Burnham and Reverend Broadhurst, Reverend Newton will oversee the catechetical preparation of the first groups of Anglicans in England and Wales who will be received into the Catholic Church together with their pastors at Easter, and will accompany the clergy preparing for ordination to the Catholic priesthood around Pentecost.

"The provision of this new structure is consistent with the commitment to ecumenical dialogue, which continues to be a priority for the Catholic Church. The initiative leading to the publication of the Apostolic Constitution and the erection of this Personal Ordinariate came from a number of different groups of Anglicans who have declared that they share the common Catholic faith as it is expressed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and accept the Petrine ministry as something Christ willed for the Church. For them, the time has now come to express this implicit unity in the visible form of full communion".

The Anglo-Catholic

Oh, but wait...

For those Anglicans wishing to avail themselves of Anglicanorum coetibus in Canada, Archbishop Thomas Collins of Toronto is the liaison for the Anglican Catholic Church of Canada and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. Archbishop Collins will be hosting a gathering for all those interested in an Ordinariate in Canada on March 24-26. Father. Christopher Phillips of Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas plans to attend as well as Traditional Anglican Communion Primate, Archbishop John Hepworth.

The meeting will be held at Queen of Apostles retreat centre in Mississauga. I attended once as a Grade 9 student whilst in Catholic high school in Toronto at the age of 13 after which I did not attend church for more than a decade.

Hopefully, these good Anglo-Catholics will not have the same experience but after looking at the Chapel, it's hard to believe that it's actually worse than in 1970!

Oh, and would you mind bringing a few Anglican traditions over to the Church in Toronto?

Anglican Catholic Ordinariate Requested for Canada

The Anglican Catholic Church of Canada has asked for an Ordinariate in the Catholic Church. You can read the complete letter here:

"We have all read and studied with care the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus with the Complementary Norms and the accompanying Commentary. And now, in response to your invitation to contact your Dicastery to begin the process you lay out, we respectfully ask that the Apostolic Constitution be implemented in Canada; that we may establish an interim Governing Council of three priests (or bishops); and that this Council be given the task and authority to propose to His Holiness a terna for appointment of the initial Ordinary."
