It is painful to read for two reasons. First, because it reveals the thinking of the Church's current leadership and explains the recent action of Frank Leo of Toronto, the only bishop in Canada to so cruelly and harshly attach the faithful who desire to worship God in the ancient use of the Latin Rite. As this photo shows from June 2026, Frank Leo is doing Arthur Roche's bidding.

Second, it reveals the manipulative and twisted mind of Roche. He makes a ridiculous statement of "amice to amice in 15 minutes" as an excuse. Whatever liturgical abuse was present at the time he served as an altar boy is irrelevant to the issue of the Mass. We can all give examples of liturgical abuse before 1969 or 1965 and most certainly every day today. 

Further, Roche is a liar. He states that "Summorum Pontificum was created to accommodate the FSSPX” This is fundamentally false, as Peter Seewald revealed in 2017 with Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI.

Fundamentally, these churchmen hate you. They believe that you and I are ruining the Church. We are the problem. In Toronto, about 1,500 people a week are responsible for ruining the agenda. Yes, that is what this is about. We are ruining their agenda. Next Sunday, Frank Leo has ordered all parishes to count the attendees at Mass. What will he find? We already know. Except in specific suburban parishes filled with Filipino, Hispanic and Asian and some African immigrants, the church in Toronto is dying. At some point, Frank Leo will need to come to the conclusion that he will need to close 20 parishes in the older part of Toronto itself. All of them have failed. The "NO MASS FOR YOU" period of shuttered churches by Thomas Collins was a disaster for parishes; they have never fully recovered. These men have failed us for nearly 60 years.

These men, Roche and his ilk, know they have failed and their time is short. It is not this writer that is "edging away"; it is Roche and his ilk. They are edging away from not only the centre of the faith but from more. They are edging away from life itself. What they tell you, they are. Roche is a classic gaslighter!

They are cruel and wicked. They have no supernatural faith. They hate the Mass, they hate the Church, they hate Our Lord Jesus Christ, and they hate you, dear reader. How do I know? Because if they do not, then they would not do the things they do.

Let's be clear here. Summorum Pontificum actually created unity. It was an act of love, care, kindness and truth. Traditionis custodes and all that has come from it was and remains a cruel document based on lies and a wicked agenda. The division, the anger, the hurt and the sadness now being experienced by Catholics in Toronto at Holy Family, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Lawrence the Martyr and St. Patrick's Schomberg is not our fault. It is the fault of those who did this. The men appointed to be our shepherds are in fact, fully revealed by the Apostle John in the words of Our Lord.

They are effeminate cretins. Hirelings. All of them!

The Catholic Register, owned by the "Metropolitan" Archdiocese of Toronto, has finally written about the harsh enforcement by Cardinal Frank Leo of Traditionis Custodes, a cruel and unjustified document based on falsehoods and manipulation. This motu proprio by Pope Francis suspended Summorum Pontificum and has upset the peace and lives of thousands of Catholics who were finally given the concern and fatherly care under our dear Pope Benedict XVI.

Neil MacCarthy, long-time communications director, announced that the reason is not that there are not enough Masses offered according to the Novus Ordo at the four parishes but rather, "to bring those who do not attend the Novus Ordo to begin to do so."

Do these people think those attending the Usus Antiquior of the Holy Mass are foolish or stupid? We know we can attend the new rite and accept it as valid. Yet we have been called by the Holy Spirit to worship God in this form in the manner of our ancestors. It is not preference or a whim or a fetish. Frank Leo and Neil MacCarthy seem unable to grasp this. Despite Frank Leo’s recent eloquent words on stewardship two weeks ago and yesterday on thanksgiving, he has shown no fatherly care or affection for those attending the traditional Mass. No appreciation for sacred music or church tradition. One only needs to look at the music program at the Cathedral now versus five years ago or a decade ago, or the early 1980s, to see what has happened. All the good work done there for a century has been reduced to the lowest common denominator.

The faithful aren’t foolish, even if we’re like sheep; we know the difference between a true shepherd and a mere hireling. We can tell tenderloin from flank. Some may see this as a simple affectation on our part, but it’s far more than that. It’s a calling from God through the Holy Spirit that has guided these Catholics along this path.

Rather than take the attitude that Catholics attending the traditional liturgy are the problem in the Church today or ruining the Church, look around at the damage left by abuse, which comes in many forms. Look around at the dearth of liturgical awareness in 98% of parishes. Shall we consider the lack of proper formation of the faithful and catechesis, the attendance at Mass, the decline, especially since the acquiescence to the gods of Covid. You ask if I accept Vatican II. Yes, do you? How about that part about "Latin is to be preserved." Or how about, "Gregorian chant has pride of place." 

Perhaps His Eminence and Neil might wish to open their bible to Acts, chapter 5, verses 32 to 39.

It seems to contradict the authority of the motu proprio. Essentially, the bishop is in charge but he is really not. It also seems to enforce after 15 months, the regulations and dubia responses by Cardinal Roche.

Bishop Schneider on Crisis, Disobedience, & the SSPX | A Michael Matt I...

Listen carefully to the good Bishop's words. He has words here for priests who must disobey and yet, must also fall under the authority of a bishop. I expect if the worst happens, the Society of St. Pius X will need to develop a system of affiliation. Bishop Schneider also indicates other, perhaps retired bishops. May God guide us all.

Holding my tongue for the sake of the 204%

There is a lot going on. I should have something to say. I do and I don't. I am, in prudence, restraining. It is not easy but I need to keep my own peace at this time. You know that to which I refer. 

Father Zuhlsdorf has something good to say today for all of us, particularly about you seminarians out there. I know you read this blog so urge you to read his comments and take them seriously. 

To the others who read this blog in the Chancery, and I know you do, will you allow the little flock, even if some of them be nasty, crabby to be put out of the house? Do these smelly sheep not deserve your attention?

To you over in Rome,  yes, you read this blog too, you who blame bloggers for all the ills and profess that we know nothing about liturgy do you really think you are going to win this? You have the power, but you won't have it forever. Maybe not even for one more year. Your end is coming, it won't be pretty. Your eternity will be severe. You will have deserved it all. 

Some people think that the problem is this blog and other blogs and Taylor Marshall. No, the problem is that people came awake and sensed something was wrong. They began to look and if this blog was part of that awakening, then I am humbled. It is not about lace and incense, it is about doctrine and devotion and truth and stopping what is coming, but they can't and they know it. In fact, their attack will only cause the "disease" to grow. They can't have that and they are too ideological to accept it.

Here is the reality. The community where I chant the Mass and conduct the choir has grown by 204% since June 2020 when the China Virus lockdowns ended for the first time. Yes, you read that correctly:

Rumours from Rome - an Apostolic Constitution from Francis to all but ban the traditonal Latin Mass

While you think you may enjoy a peaceful Epiphantide glowing in the light of Christmas the Bishop of Rome has other ideas. If my sources are correct, this is imminent, and be prepared for a Lent of suffering and sorrow. Gloria TV is reporting "rumours" from the German blog, Summorum Pontificum (summorum-pontificum.de) that Pope Francis is preparing to unleash a frontal attack on the traditional Latin Mass through the use of an Apostolic Constitution. 

Whether or not he has waited for Benedict XVI to be out of the picture is moot. Nothing stopped him for nearly a decade. No, this is his outrage that most of the bishops, priests, and laity around the world have ignored Traditionis Custodes and the abusive follow-up from Roche in the Congregation responsible. At this stage, it is rumour. 

Let us pray to God for a quick end to this poison that has inflicted His Church and that we will see a restoration. What I do know is this; fixing this is beyond any ability of any one of us. Only God can destroy this wickedness and restore the faith and when He chooses to act, and I have no doubt He will, it won't be pretty.

I will not go quietly into the night. None of us can.

The Roman jungle telegraph, to which we are connected via several stations, does not always work reliably – which is why we usually hold back a bit with the public reproduction of the messages received. Not everything is worth communicating: the fact that Arthur Roche, the head of the authority responsible for the liturgy, reacted to the news of Benedict's death with the words: "Now we can finally sign the document!" seemed to us at best of anecdotal interest.

Now we receive news about the form and content of this document – and they set off all the alarm bells. Then it is about a new Apostolic Constitution, with which Francis, who is highly dissatisfied with the slow implementation of Traditionis Custodes, now finally wants to put an end to the old Mass. Francis, therefore, chose the form of an Apostolic Constitution in order to adhere to the corresponding Constitution Missale Romanum of Paul VI and to emphasize the equality of his current regulations with the 1969 Act of Law.

According to our information, the expected constitution contains 4 main provisions:

In no parish/diocesan church, may the old mass be celebrated.

In diocesan churches it may not be celebrated every Sunday according to the old rite.

The use of the 1962 books (with the modifications ordered by Francis) is only permitted for the celebration of Mass, but not for the administration of sacraments and sacramentals.

Every priest is obliged to celebrate (publicly?) according to Paul VI's missal.

This is the status of our information on 13 January. We keep an eye on the matter and our ears to the telegraph.

In better news. Bishop Mark Hagemoen of the Diocese of Saskatoon has appointed the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter to the Diocese.
