Clearly, the disclaimer I wrote, is controversial to some. I dared to not take Ann's position and to suggest that she is wrong, at least, to state her opinion publicly. Look, Francis is the Pope. Ann is wrong. If, in the fullness of time, there is proof that Benedict's renouncement of the papacy was not valid and the election therefore was null, then we can consider Francis an antipope. The problem with those who do not accept this, or with sedevacantists is a papal positivism that the Pope can do no wrong, therefore, if he does, he cannot be Pope. This is to ascribe to the Bishop of Rome something which he does not have, all power, something he is not, divine! It is possible to simply have a bad pope. The purpose of the disclaimer was to ensure that all understood that just because I link to her on the column and quoted her below, does not mean I endorse the same position.
Clear now?
Since 2 + 2 = 4 and not 5, notwithstanding the Bergoglio minion, Spadaro; Bergoglio is therefore, Pope.
Now, a few months ago, I can't find the link, Monday Vatican reported on the potential of a Third Vatican Council. It went no further, no blog picked up on it, nor did I wish to push it.
Now, Ann has.
http://www.barnhardt.biz/2017/01/28/answers-why-wont-any-cardinals-speak-up-against-bergoglio/
So let me connect some dots. Maybe it's because I'm clean having just come back from Confession an hour ago ...
This is Fatima coming to life right before us.
- Bergoglio will call a Council, it will be an evil Council because the intent will be to enshrine sacrilege, change doctrine, unite with protestantism and create ecumenical worship.
- God, in His vengeance, will not tolerate it and will, in His permissive will, permit a massive terrorist attack to take place by Mohammedans.
- St. Peter's Basilica, where most of the bishops and cardinals (not all, some will not attend because they know it will be a corrupt council) will be destroyed and most there will be killed, including the Pope Francis.
- Then, a "Bishop in white" will emerge and crawl over their dead bodies and up to the high altar where he will then be killed. That "Bishop in white" (note the Fatima seers did not say the Pope, even though they presumed him to be), is Joseph Ratzinger
- The few surviving Cardinals will flea to Portugal, to Fatima where the "dogma of faith" will be preserved.
- They will elect the Holy Pope who will then, with the remaining bishops and cardinals of the world, Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
- Russia will come to the literal physical aid of Europe, the Orthodox Church will reunite with eternal Rome under Peter and this Holy Pope will "restore all things in Christ."
- And a period of peace will be granted to the world, until we mess it up again.
- And then the end will come.
God help us.

Your numbered chronology is quite correct as I understand it BUT there is some (great) need of common sense that needs to be applied regarding Pope Benedict XVI and "that he says he was not forced out and that the election process was validly conducted".
If one should twist the arm of the Pope to the point at which he will pronounce that he will resign half of the papal ministry and become a "pope emeritus" a title that his immediate predecessor St. Pope John Paul II said there could never be, then it stands to reason that a bit more of the same effort applied to the same arm would gain for the perpetrator the public acknowledgement that the previous word was not forced.
on a lighter note
We used to pray for the conversion of Russia and the intentions of the Pope. Now we pray for the intentions of Russia and the conversion of the pope.

Vox & readers, it has come to me quite strongly today that what we are witnessing in the Church is "dog whistling". Because of all the trauma & scandal swirling within the Church right now, many are being discouraged & diabolically confused. However, faithful Catholics ears are pricking up. We hear the call of the Lord. We know something's wrong. We see it. We are not to be discouraged. We are not to schism. We are not to disrespect the Pope. What we are being called to is: humbly perform acts of reparation for our sins. Not only a Hail Mary or two given as penance in Confession, but perform mortifications and sacrifices for our sins and for love of Holy Mother Church. Each and every day. I've given up chocolate for the year. Sweets for 6 days/week. Pray a chaplet each day in reparation. There is a lot we can do, especially in first world countries that most of us live in. We live in luxury and laziness. It's time for war, we are being called to it and this is what Church Militant does best. We lay aside our bitterness and our despair and we take up our rosaries in hope. We fast. We pray. We mortify. We sacrifice. No matter what happens within the Church, Jesus is in charge. No matter how low things seem to get, He has this under control. No matter how long this takes, we are not to lose hope...even if we die before we see the triumph of our Lord. Why He is allowing all this to happen is so that we will wake up. And get on our knees and fight for our Church. Just like the Maccabees, but with spiritual weapons that no bishop, no priest, no Pope, can control or limit. The laity must rise to the battle. We must STAY within the Church, not run away. We must love her, we must stay and fight for her. This too is why SSPX needs to return within the fold. We need them to fight with us side by side within Holy Mother Church. In summary: Jesus Wins...but we must lay down our childish ways and take up our swords.
Forgive me Vox but you don't think like a modernist.
For the modernist, Vatican III is an admission that unified decrees are right and necessary and they simply can't have that. Catholicity strikes at the heart of modernism. The modernist solution for everything is to let every priest and bishop decide what truth is, what the liturgy is, what morality is, and ultimately what God and man are. The only creed the modernist needs is Genesis 2:17 and Judges 17:6. Every synod, every encyclical, every "reformation" of the FFI, SMOM, and persecution of the orthodox under Pope Francis has been in the name of this creed.
Dear Vox, I love your posts, it is the most frequented site we visit at home. 99.9% of the time we totally agree with your analysis regarding the current state of the church under Jorge Bergolio.Whilst we appreciate your disclaimer in this post regarding Ann Barnhardt, We respectfully disagree. Ann is right to call him out for what he is, one does not need to wait for him to be declared a heretic, by Jorge's evil actions he himself has declared it, and therefore he is automatically excommunicated. We understated to a degree in order to be deemed a heretic, one must either deny or doubt one of the fundamental teachings of the Church. Jorge not only denies (more than) one certain elements of the truth, but he is hell bent on changing it into a lie. In defense of Ann Barnhardt , Matthew 16:3 comes to mind. May St. Michael defend and protect all who are defending the mystical body of our lord during these dark days of persecution.
Shouldn't have read this before TRYING to sleep....
Sounds like a conspiracy theory on steroids. But if ten percent of that crazy projection comes true, it would still be shocking.
Dear Anonymous at 7:45.
Thanks you for reading. I like Ann. I think she was wrong to publicly state that he is an "antipope" because it disturbs people and it is not something we know. She has also called him a "heretic." But a heretic is not necessarily an antipope. And an antipope may not be a heretic.
He may very well be a heretic, but he has not been formally declared such.
As for being an antipope, we do not know that Benedict says he was not forced. We can only know what we do. The election has not been disputed. An antipope is someone who seized power or was elected improperly or who would claim the papacy when is not legitimate. We cannot know that this is the case.
Only the future can tell us, unless Benedict XVI changes his mind and tells us he is still Pope, in which case Bergoglio would be, an antipope.
TC
Beautiful and inspiring words. Yet... sincerely I must disagree on one point. Maybe it is due to my being separated from God's full grace through the Eucharist (I am civilly married to an atheist, from the time when I was not a believer), or maybe because I am right when I say: Jorge Bergoglio must not be respected. He is openly defying God, putting own convictions above the Word of Jesus Christ.
I do not, will not respect anyone who does that.
See, I have never found God to be unmerciful, when he gave me His commandments. They were given me as a candle to use in the darkness, I did not understand it then. I rejected the candle. Now there are consequences, but I know my Father loves me.
I place no demands on God.
Bergoglio tells us to argue with God. That is stupid. We can ask God: Why? Help me understand! But we should not argue with God. Does God tell us to argue even with our earthly fathers? - No. We ought to love and honour them.
What did Bergoglio just say? - Commandments, all commandments? - Well, come on! Let us be realistic, they might be an obstacle in achieving what we want. [I paraphrased.]
No, definitely no respect. I am a Catholic, but I have a brain and a conscience. I fear the justice of God.
Two things nibble at my mind: At the start of his Papacy, Pope Francis consecrated Vatican City State to St. Michael and also promoted devotion to Our Lady Undoer of Knots. He encouraged Confession. He talked about Satan. He encouraged Adoration around the world. These aren't things that heretics or modernists are fond of. Was he signalling us? I can't remember if it was Father Ripperger or Father Amorth who stated that Our Lady Undoer of Knots is powerful against demons. Does that sound like a devotion a heretic or a forerunner of the Antichrist would embrace?
Is that what is happening right now? So many knots being picked apart, unravelled and undone?
Another thing: Pope Francis is like the pied piper for heretics and modernists. I mean they are popping up all over the world, even bishops and Cardinals that we may have thought of as "conservative" at one time. They are being pulled up from the mud so that they are in the light now rather than in the shadows.
What if Pope Francis and Benedict XVI know what they are doing here? What if Jesus is using Pope Francis willingly (via Divine Inspiration that is promised to Peter's Successor)? Or what if Pope Francis really is inclined this way, but Jesus is using his personal inclinations to do Our Lord's will unwittingly? And then is granted a deep conversion before it's too late? I mean there are so many, many scenarios here. We just can't possibly know what our Lord's plan is and what He is doing. We must be humble and accept that we only see the "small picture" but not the "big picture".
But know this: Jesus is not a helpless victim. He is not weak or deceived or fooled. So many say: But Pope Francis is leading so many souls astray! Look...Jesus knows the cost here more than any of us. He is allowing this. He is being crowned with plenty of thorns right now (heresies) while those crowning Him say (hail King). There's a reason. We must say "Jesus, I trust in You" every day. Many of us do...now it's time to actually live that. It's our job to hasten the assured win with our humility and our prayers and mortifications...to put more bullets in the rifle so to speak.
One final thing: Wasn't it Jacinta (Fatima) who saw a Pope alone and crying because of great persecution from his own? Could that be Francis? or Benedict XVI?
One thing I'd like to recommend is a holy hour of reparation. I think initially way back in the day it was recommended to do once a month in reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but in these dangerous times I think once a week is valuable. I can sincerely declare that doing this does indeed draw you near to Jesus and sets your heart on fire for Him. I do these at home in front of my little shrine but most were written assuming you were in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Don't let that stop you doing these at home.
I can recommend the following books:
--Night Adoration In the Home (Fr. Mateo Crowley Boevey).
--Holy Hour of Reparation (by Soul Assurance).
--Holy Hour of Reparation (by Angelus Press), includes an encyclical by Pope Pius XI.
(the above can be found for just a few dollars on Amazon)
--Holy Hour of Reparation To The Sacred Heart of Jesus...For Neglect Of & Negligence In Priestly and Religious Vocations (Sensus Traditionis Press)
--Holy Hours (by Fr. Mateo Crawley-Boevey)...found on Angelus Press website...hardcover, red book...has 21 different Holy Hours for every First Friday of the year.
The Night Adoration in the Home is recommended to do between the hours of 9 PM and 6 AM and it's currently my favorite. I read a review once of someone who said her parents would get the family up at 4 AM once a month to do the prayers together, the idea was to make reparations for all the wickedness that occured during the night. The book suggests praying for the following intentions: our Holy Father the Pope, peace, the clergy, the members of your family who may have gone astray, those in their agony this night, the Social Reign of the Sacred Heart, particularly through the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in the Home.
I also recommend getting a copy of the Raccolta for yourselves, there are many, many devotions in there that are efficacious and at one time highly recommended, though the indulgences are no longer valid for many of them since the changes.
These little treasures & gems of Holy Mother Church are just waiting for us to pick them up, dust them off and put them to good use again. Let's not despair or give up, but let's fight back in ways that will really make a difference.
Another thing: It's time to get serious about building yourselves a beautiful Domestic Church in your home. Beautiful statues, icons, blessed candles, blessed salt, blessed water. Lovely chaplets & rosaries. Beauty draws us to the Sacred and we all know what most of our Churches today look like. But they can't strip our little shrines at home.
ONE question:
WHERE ARE THE FAITHFUL PRIESTS AND BISHOPS?
Why aren't they speaking up, why aren't they speaking up in parishes and through the internet? Why aren't they lifting their voices?
Are they just employees doing what their boss tells them to do?
Vox, I am puzzled by your description of the third secret of Fatima. Ann Barnhardt's assessment of Bergoglio is unwarranted by you because 'we can only know what we know', but your speculation about the Fatima secret is wildly speculative to me, much more so than what Ann is asserting. How do you know what that hidden portion of Our Lady's words to Lucia actually are? Is there some information to which you are privy and the rest of us are not? Or is it that my personal knowledge is lacking? If so , tell me.
I will tell you one thing. Ann Barnhardt is absolutely right that the orthodox Cardinals have to take on Bergoglio full force right now or he will destroy the Church as he intends. Now he is tampering with the Liturgy. Soon it will be the Holy Eucharist. Can you not see the trajectory he is following with great speed? Let him call a third Vatican Council and let those prelates who belong to Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth come forward for Him and fight to the death for Him during it. It is long past time for them to speak up boldly regardless of the scandal of impropriety. It is too late for what is proper. The Faith has to be defended and NOW. Yes, it will be a bloody and horrific battle, but the authentic doctrine of Catholicism will be preserved and Truth will be clear for all others to see whether they want to or not. Dialoguing with Satan is a fool's game. The best defense with him is offense.
All this worship of ecclesiastical protocol by the Cardinals is just sickening. Christ's Bride needs to be defended and protected NOW. While the Cardinals are muddling and waiting for Bergoglio to die, the Church is being destroyed right before our eyes. He who hesitates is lost.
My legalist position is that Francis is 'strongly suspect of heresy' and a 'suspect Antipope.'
But in my heart he is already guilty, though in the reality of history, this is not yet officially confirmed.
But here is the irony Vox...
According to Francis' own Amoris Letitia, our consciences excuse us from divine and canonical/disciplinary law. So if my heart and conscience are enough to overrule the 'rigid rules' or mere 'ideals' according to Francis, then by that same logic applied to public adulterers, one can publicly call Francis an Antipope to his faca, and he must allow this for the sake of accompanying that conscience even if erroneous where the one holding such opinions may "know fully well the rule, but not necessarily understand it nor follow it." Plus according to him, maybe this is the most 'generous response' that God Himself wants from the person, so who is he to judge si long as Ann Barnhardt has 'good will' and "follows the Lord?"
Francis refutes himself. And if you believe that train of thought which Amoris Letitia allows us to have, then Amoris is wrong, and therefore the one who promulgated it is in error. And given we know it's promulgator is aware and repeatedly warned, then he is a heretic and therefore only retains the legal papal office because we tolerate him there. Therefore it makes sense to voice that we do not tolerate him as Pope any longer so as to force the bishops into action.
But I do not think that will occur, so Rome will be destroyed by natural disaster first, and both Francis and Benedict will have to die in such a manner that God's displeasure will be known.
Oh man...VIII...that is a heavy threat....I don't know what to say.
Dorota Mosiewicz-Patalas : I suggest you meet a priest to enquire about the possibility of a sanatio in radice. I'll pray for you.

Barbara, Hold on here, I based my little projection with what WE KNOW, about Fatima. It all comes from what the Vatican itself released. Are you now aware of that? The Pope crawling over the bodies of priests and religious up a hill where he is shot and dies? That is public information. Remember she said, "we saw a bishop dressed in white." She did not say the Pope. Later they said, they presumed it to be "the Holy Father." Why did they not recognise and only presume? Because he was wearing white, not a mozetta, etc. It could be Francis, but it could also be Benedict, or it could be neither.
Something destructive must happen for that apocalyptic scenario to take place. We also know from public information that the "dogma of faith" would remain in Portugal. Did that mean the Portuguese State which now sanctions abortion and worse? Or did it mean that it where the dogma would dwell? Yes, I am speculating. . I have no special knowledge.
If Ann, and Monday Vatican is right, and he is planning to call a Council, Ann's reasoning is sound, it is a threat now that may be done. I don't disagree with her.
Yes, the Cardinals and Bishops must STOP him from calling a Council by OUTING his intention. They are for the most, spineless, effeminate cowards.
Ann's mistake is to publicly declare Bergoglio and antipope. She does not know that, nor do I or anyone. She is not competent to do it. She is giving an opinion.
Only a future Pope or Council can declare him as one because they would determine, with fact, that Benedict was indeed ousted and was still actually Pope while Bergoglio was elected and took the Office. We do not know this. Is it possible? Absolutely, but we can't declare something to be true that we do not know is true!
You also said:
"Now he is tampering with the Liturgy. Soon it will be the Holy Eucharist. Can you not see the trajectory he is following with great speed?"
I agree and I've written on this before, I think in the last couple of days.
Thank you Johnno!
Regardless how our present situation in the Church and with Pope Francis is precisely defined or described it must reasonably be concluded that there is a high likelihood that the devastation predicted by Our Lady of Fatima may soon come to pass soon. Directionally I am with Ann Barnhardt.
I believe we have reached a fork on the straight & narrow path to Heaven where we all must decide which way to turn. Protocol will not help us in making that decision so must be dispensed with. False obedience, false ecumenism, false symbols (crucifix cross, buddhas, etc.), incense to false gods to placate infidels, false teaching (no Catholics God, Atheists can get to Heaven, evangelisation is a sin, conscience overrules Truth, get angry with God - tell Him our sins are His, etc.). Everything this man teaches while sitting on the Throne of St. Peter is FALSE. Why then cannot our informed consciences speak the truth? Why should we succumb to this individual purporting to be the Vicar of Christ who signs off a Papal Exhortation giving the 'right' to non-repentant sinners to continue in their sin while having access to Holy Communion? Why does a man holding the title of Pope allow active sodomites to continue to say Holy Mass & preach the Gospel draped in their rainbow colours & why does he surround himself with such 'advisers' & appoint so many to episcopal positions while demoting those with better qualifications & sanctity? The constant reports of Satanic Black Masses in the Vatican & elsewhere, continuous blasphemy against Our Lady, the evils of Abortion & Euthanasia progress without the voice of our pope raised against such demonic behaviour. He could have had the Vatican & precincts exorcised but no, he prefers to persecute Traditional Catholics & their priests. What authentic pope would ever want to hand over the entire CC to the NWO & could such a man ever command the obedience of God's faithful? I would have to say NO he cannot.
So we are now at that fork in the road & it is no longer feasible to hide behind old habits of reverential discipline that were good & proper when bestowed upon a true shepherd, which the title Vicar of Christ on Earth should portray, but they cannot be viewed as either proper or wise to bestow on someone who blatantly is a wrecking ball for all of Christ's Commandments, scripture, tradition etc. of the True Faith & puts Christ's faithful on the same level as infidels. We cannot allow ourselves to be intimidated by threats of excommunication from a man who clearly is not fulfilling his duty as Supreme Pontiff of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church, who by his teaching is leading the sheep away from Our Heavenly Father & who brings ignominy on the Catholic world trying desperately to follow in their Master's footsteps.
The CC will survive because it is a Divine institution & as this is the Centenary Year of Fatima & also the year of Satan's Last Stand, we should endeavour to renew our Baptismal promises & work for the eradication of this demonic evil in our midst & continue to call it what it is without consideration for political correctness.
“The apostasy of the city of Rome from the vicar of Christ and its destruction by Antichrist may be thoughts very new to many Catholics, that I think it well to recite the text of theologians of greatest repute. First Malvenda, who writes expressly on the subject, states as the opinion of Ribera, Gaspar Melus, Biegas, Suarrez, Bellarmine and Bosius that Rome shall apostatize from the Faith, drive away the Vicar of Christ and return to its ancient paganism. ...Then the Church shall be scattered, driven into the wilderness, and shall be for a time, as it was in the beginning, invisible; hidden in catacombs, in dens, in mountains, in lurking places; for a time it shall be swept, as it were from the face of the earth. Such is the universal testimony of the Fathers of the early Church.”- Henry Edward Cardinal Manning, The Present Crisis of the Holy See, 1861, London: Burns and Lambert, pp. 88-90)
I read things like this, along with prophecies like La Salette that say that Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of AntiChrist. But my question is this: doesn't the dogma of Rome's indefectibility make Rome's apostasy impossible? In other words, Rome itself teaches dogmatically that Rome can never fall into error, and yet starting at Vatican II it started to contradict previous teachings and now we are looking toward possible full blown apostasy. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what indefectible means?
I've greatly enjoyed reading your blog over the last six months or so but took you out of my bookmarks this morning. Why? Because I think your position on Bergoglio and the Church is inadvisable. And your entry disclaiming Ann Barnhardt convinced me. I firmly believe we're at an inflection point where the faithful need to make tough determinations, including where they stand on Church hierarchy. 1.2 billion Catholics risk being boiled alive like unsuspecting frogs if they continue to blindly follow this "pope" and his many sycophants. The time has come to publicly declare him antithetical to the Catholic Church, nevermind the papacy.
One only needs to read a chronology of headlines and quotes related to Bergoglio since his election (https://thewildvoice.org/pope-francis-chronology-perspective/) to see he's not Catholic. He clearly stated there is no Catholic God. I'm not convinced he's even Christian given his frequent inability to utter Jesus' name or genuflect before the Holy Eucharist. It's clear he has more in common, philosophically, with Aleister Crowley, freemason and occultist, than with Doctors of the Church. Just ask the many masonic lodges that celebrated his election, praised him and stated that nothing would be as it was before.
How much more do people need to see and hear to realize this man is an imposter, a dangerous charlatan? The time to equivocate is past. If cardinals continue to sit idly by as this butcher destroys the Church from within then the faithful must exhort these same cardinals to action while declaring Bergoglio is unfit to the office.
When I came into the Church a number of years ago I came because the Church was true in what it taught. I asked only one question, and that was as to why heretics in influential and high places in the Church were not excommunicated? I did not get a satisfactory answer but I came into the Church just the same. I also wondered why priests did not take a leadership role in fighting abortion and in opposition to changes in Catholic schools. I soon learned that their was a split in Catholic thought, one orthodox and the other modernist! I could not understand why unorthodox views by the clergy were tolerated. Now we have a pope that seems to me to be unorthodox. If only the Church had filtered out wrong teaching before the unorthodox got the upper hand we would not have this mess. Sad and upset while most of the Catholic world seems to yawn without concern. Max
I beg your pardon, but the SSPX IS "in the fold". When Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated four Bishops on June 30, 1988, he categorically stated that he was NOT founding a new Church but that he was doing this for the good of the Catholic Church.
The SSPX Bishops are to ordain Catholic priests according to the traditional rite for the preservation of the Catholic priesthood and confirm the faithful who asked for it.
Sorry if this is a repeat - I'm all thumbs today.
Concerning an Anti-Pope and False Prophet
God has given some of us the gifts of wisdom and discernment. Wisdom is not to be confused with knowledge that can be gleaned from books written by men. You may also recall what God also spoke about that:
But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. For in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death.Gen2:17
Unfortunately today both priest and layman have ignored these words stuffing themselves full of it's fruit and swinging from it's branches.
From the pulpit and in private knowledge is promoted rather than the intention of Solomon:
Give therefore to thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, and discern between good and evil.1Kings 3:9
If you have the gifts of wisdom and discernment God has so bestowed these gifts that they be used even for the edification of the clergy that are so lacking.
As clearly stated in the petition of Solomon wisdom is for judging and discerning good and evil in His people. In the old testament His people were the Jews. Today His people are Catholic Church from layman to Pope and even those that have fallen away (both layman and pope.)
It is exceedingly foolish to believe that some council or members of the hierarchy would declare Bergoglio Anti-pope and False Prophet before the schism. Having such great understanding would be schismatic.
Bergoglio is the Anti Pope and False Prophet. The understanding and the the voice or lack thereof of any one or all of the priests in Rome or the deceived faithful does not change things.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect.Matt24:24
Bergoglio is a former heretic. He is planing something very evil with a newly appointed commission on investigating the interpretation of Latin in different languages. Bergoglio is going to attack the Latin and prescribe it to his New Age Catholic Church. Bergoglio's New Gospel. Bergoglio is Judas Escariot sitting and laughing and mocking God from the Chair of Peter.
The Church is the greatest threat to Satan. Personal behavior of clergy is not protected from error, so Satan can influence some to do what he wants, though in a way that sounds like God is instructing them, even if it contradicts His public revelation. Some still stay with the Democrats, because they stood up for the Catholic immigrants and labor rights at one time. Some just totally lost their way and some of them could have been infiltrators. God help all those types. Those lay people who know better about Church teaching will not be able to use that as an excuse to follow heretics to Hell or to curse them for doing so to others and/or join schismatuc groups, sedevacantists, other churches, non-Christian faiths or even no religion. The leaders will still fall all the harder. We will need to stay on the barque of Peter and save those off it by prayer, example and mentoring. Conservatives of other faiths or no faiths shouldn't point at us. They might cery well have porn-watching clergy and goddess worshippers amongst their church attendees or like-minded and they will be next, if Satan downsizes us, with God's permission, as Pope Benedict once prophecied.
Clever, but we can't do stuff just by what we will vall our conscience to spite Pope Francis. We will be judged by what we know.
What needs to be understood is the difference between 'Eternal Rome' and geographical Rome. Just as there is a distiction between Jerusalem on Earth, and the 'Heavenly Jerusalem.' Even when the Papacy moved to Avignon, France for a time, Eternal Rome was there and remains indefectible. Even as Jerusalem was sacjed, twice, the Heavenly Jerusalem was still coming. The City if God is not of this world and yet in the world overlapping the City if Men. Both the seeds and the tares are sown together. When prophecies speak if Jerusalem, or Rome falling, these are the City of Men. The City if God, the Heavenly Jerusalem, Eternal Rome, the New Israel versus geographical Israel, the 12 Apostles replacing the 12 Tribes, these are indefectible. The Kingdom if God is not if this world and yet it is already here residing among us. This will never be defeated. It is the Church Triumphant. For a time it may be attacked and grow minuscule, but it will never go away. Eyernal Rome, just as it once began in Jerusalem, then to France, may for a time move to Portugal.
Here's looking forward to the Fatima I Council, whose authenticity will be marked by the Consecration of Russia by the true Popes and Bishops followed by the grandest miracle the world will ever see.
Agree with Johnno. Fatima I Council sounds exactly right. Hope it comes rather soon.
Johnno,
That is a beautiful way of looking at the situation, but unfortunately from what I understand it contradicts the Church's infallible teaching: that the visible hierarchy of the Catholic Church with the Pope as its head is infallible and can never defect or lead the faithful into error. That's what the Church has taught about herself for hundreds of years, and without the visible, infallible teaching authority of the hierarchy and the Pope, there is no Catholic Church of Rome.
What you describe sounds similar to the Orthodox view: that it is not the infallible Pope, hierarchy, or living Magisterium that are absolutely vital to the Church's existence, but Tradition. I myself am beginning to wonder if the Orthodox have been right all along.
Johnno, see this article:
https://www.catholicculture.org/commentary/articles.cfm?id=541
"The Magisterium cannot be set against itself without destroying the fundamental claims of Catholicism. What many or most Traditionalists claim—that the Magisterium since 1960 has contradicted the Magisterium of “eternal Rome” by teaching errors as distinct from “perennial doctrine” is a clear and total subversion of the authority principle which animates Catholicism, which makes it wholly unique, and which alone guarantees its veracity.
This is so true that the bizarre sede vacantists among Traditionalists actually make more theological sense by arguing that the See of Peter has been vacant since Pius XII, which is at least theoretically possible."
J.M.J.
Your hypothetical Fatima time line would be pretty plausible if not for the pesky little prophecy of Pope St. Pius X, wherein he says that a successor of his by name will be fleeing Rome over the bodies of his subordinates, going to a hiding place, and after a short time, suffering a cruel death.
Of all the recent popes, only Papa Benedict XVI fits the bill. He is alive. He is not a Pius XIII, but he is a Joseph -- Josef Ratzinger to Pope St. Pius' Giuseppe Sarto.
I would say that your scenario of God's permissive will response to Francis' "Vatican III" will happen -- Moslems, or even an earthquake or volcanic eruption (Recall that St. Januarius' blood in Naples did NOT liquefy in mid-December, and the city is next door to a reawakening Campi Flegrei caldera.) -- but that Benedict will flee Rome to go into hiding, while Francis will be the one executed in Rome by the bullets and arrows of the "bishop in white" vision of the Third Secret of Fatima.
With the good bishops that are still around having aided Papa Benedict into hiding, they will know of his death and proceed to elect a new Pope. Regardless of which pope is the true Pope, the earlier death of a converted (the Fatima vision implies this) Francis, and the subsequent death of Benedict will open the field for a successor of validity beyond doubt or confusion.
Our Lady of Fatima, ora pro nobis!!
While there are certainly "fleas" in the Vatican, the good bishops will have to FLEE to Portugal!
Thanks Ademar, I had forgotten about that prophecy.

Dear Max, We true Catholics suffer terribly the trauma of heresy, apostasy, evil by Pope, bishops, priests and religious. Since I was a child in the seventies, I was asking those questions that you ask, questions met with silence. It's the Great Apostasy.
