When G.M Festing was ordered to attend private audience with Francis it was not intended for him to tender resignation. He was meant to just sign letter implicating Cardinal Burke in wrongdoing. Through gritted teeth I have to say Festing is an honourable man,and as such refused to sign. Francis, infuriated, ordered F to resign his position of Grand Master. Refusal.Then he was ordered again to resign, this time Francis cited the vow of obedience made.Festing was caught and had to immediately write out his resignation. Saved Burke temporarily, but the knives are out and Francis wants Burke gone asap. This is MAJOR stuff and is going to escalate massively. All things are coming to a head. This coming 12 months is going to break open the Catholic Church like never before.
