Daniel Horan, OFM - Another wolf in a cassock

Daniel Horan, OFM, is a Catholic priest and a "theologian" and author and is currently visiting assistant professor of systematic theology at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He also promotes himself as a speaker and engages it as a lucrative business as can be seen from his web page. Trust me, these priests do not travel for free, they have goodly fee on top of all expenses. I am sure his Order appreciates the riches he brings in.

Horan is a manipulator as the Tweet above shows. Emulating James Martin, S.J., is not something one should take pride in. Horan is trying to twist and weave around the justified criticism of Catholics to his obsessive Tweeting on the Marxist and anarchist march of women. He cavorts with groups that want to murder babies but then hides behind social justice.

For an example of Horan's writings, I urge you to visit Barona at Witness:

We've featured this malefactor before. He used a photo of two sodomites holding hands to describe the "Joy of Love" also known as, Amoris Laetitia. I wonder what Horan is trying to tell us?

The man is a disgrace to the priesthood. He is deceiving those students in Chicago and those who pay to hear him on his tours. He takes a position that is antithetical to Catholicism by joining forces with those who would destroy the Church, given the chance.

Horan had a busy day on Saturday, He was out promoting the demonstrations and Tweeting about.. He spent a good part of the day condemning and then blocking Catholics who dared question the prudence of his decision to participate in such a march that holds such principles as:

We believe in Reproductive Freedom. We do not accept any federal, state or local rollbacks, cuts or restrictions on our ability to access quality reproductive healthcare services, birth control, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, or medically accurate sexuality education. This means open access to safe, legal, affordable abortion and birth control for all people, regardless of income, location or education.

We firmly declare that LGBTQIA Rights are Human Rights and that it is our obligation to uplift, expand and protect the rights of our gay, lesbian, bi, queer, trans or gender non-conforming brothers, sisters and siblings. We must have the power to control our bodies and be free from gender norms, expectations and stereotypes.

Horan opined that he was taking abuse, and "imagine what it's like for Pope Francis." In his charity, he referred to Catholics as "trolls" and "demons."

Well, Horan is a liar. Whilst I will criticise the Bishop of Rome on many things, he has spoken against abortion and genderism (though he has embraced abortion activists and "transvestites.")

This is what this pathetic, effeminate, devil in priests' clothing, Daniel Horan has allied himself with!
Image may contain: 1 person, standing

Horan is another deceitful priest, a deceiver and false teacher, preaching "another Gospel" and a different Christ. A man hiding behind his habit and undermining the faith. Where are his superiors?

These "men" need to be held accountable for what they do in public. For their lies and their betrayal of the Truth of Christ and His Church. It is not enough to hide behind "social justice." as an excuse for partnering with those who advocate the murder of children. If Horan's Superior is too much of a sell-out effete to hold him accountable then it is up to the laity to do it.

Horan is what V.I. Lenin called a "useful idiot."

He is all that, and more.

Although Jorge Bergoglio says that he is against abortion and genderism, he supports them.
Hasn't he called an Italian abortionist, who bragged about performing thousands of abortions a year, one of Italy's best? Hasn't he said that Catholics talk too much about abortion, and turned toward defending other species?
Does he reprimand and punish pro-abortion, pro-genderism, po-sodomy priests, bishops and cardinals? No, he rewards them.

This young Jesuit is obviously manipulative, and skilfully uses abortionist lingo. He is pro-life, because he supports social justice causes, a woman's "reproductive health" being high on the list. The Jesuit performs this stunt under the leadership of another self-described shrewd Jesuit, who invites leading eugenicists and pro-abortionists to the Vatican as scientific advisors.

While doing all that, He gets you, Vox, to claim that being truthful, you do not accuse him of what he obviously does - because he says something to the contrary. Do not accuse the younger Jesuit then, Hasn't he said that he supports life? And luuuuuuve. Don't forget. He supports love, not hate. Oh, the joy of sodomy!

Just remember, brother, as infuriating as these heretics are, they may have the buildings but we have the faith.

"Pro-life" Horan has also publicly written about his refusal to attend conventional pro-life demonstrations. The Women's March of course featured a jumble of left-wing causes, but if there's any one political cause it could have been said to be most about, it was a woman's "right" to have an abortion. So "pro-life" Horan enthusiastically attends pro-abortion rallies while condemning anti-abortion rallies. See http://the-american-catholic.com/2012/01/24/brother-dan-doesnt-like-the-march-for-life/

Why is this person still wearing the Franciscan habit? Please name his Order superior & Bishop who allows this to happen, along with the names of those in charge of the Lesbian Nuns who frequent such marches. It is time for all LGBT 'religious' to be publicly exposed. They have become so blatant about their deviance & their denial of the Ten Commandments, being empowered by PF et al in doing so, that the laity must take a stand. Without the financial assistance we provide none of this could occur as there would be no Orders or Diocesan priests. We must seriously consider a global stoppage of funds until these people are compelled to leave the ministry. It may take a bit of organising but it is the only way they will take note. Also a close eye kept on Soros's contributions to these ringleaders mightn't go astray. In this centenary year of Fatima let's pull out all the stops & get them!

I am amazed that this "priest" attended the Women's March with - inter alia - Madonna, Ashley Judd and many other "celeb" women who addressed the crowd with filthy (and I mean it) language and foul sexual innuendos about our President Trump. As well, Madonna told the huge crowd that she had often thought of "blowing up the White House"! A man is known by the company he keeps - remember that, Friar whoever you are - and your "besties" are rank and suspect!
That puts you on an equal footing with them!

Ashley Judd really, really needs a good shrink. She's been a complete whack a doodle for quite some time now. There's something terribly wrong with her. I'm ashamed that she's from Kentucky. A complete disgrace and a no talent, third rate actress.

Very civilly, I left a comment on his FB page objecting to his attending the march. Comment is gone and I am blocked. Unbelievable.

What he does probably has the enthusiastic support of his Archbishop, Cardinal Cupich. We must have divine intervention soon. This man is doing the work of the devil.

Amen Vox.
Not my church.

People, if you must attend a Novus Ordo parish to fulfill Sunday obligation, give the priest a monetary Christmas gift to buy himself food and pay his heat, but do not support the diocese in any way. Give all your money to the SSPX, FSSP or traditional order. These assaults on the Faith will continue. I get, on average, 20 pieces of mail from Catholic organizations fully supportive of Pope Francis. Catholic Relief Services is the most notorious. Throw them in the garbage! There will be little change if we continue to support these causes that are now contrary to the faith, that are destroying it.

This vile infiltrator reflects the horrendous condition of religious Orders. His wicked defense of the Woman's March in all its profanity, vulgarity, blasphemy, abortionism and genderism should make one feel sick.

A terrible punishment awaits the men who allowed this creature to be ordained.

LGBTQIA? How many more letters do they plan to put on that stupid label? I just call it SIN.

@Paul Morphy

Thanks for this blog entry, Vox. Taking what you say about Father Horan at face value, there are several questions which need to be asked by every single Catholic.

Who at the OFM is responsible for the spiritual formation of Father Horan? We have got to start examining the credentials of the gate keepers of institutions who form the likes of Father Horan and Father James Martin SJ. The gate keepers is where the real cancer lies.

Priests such as Horan and Martin would never be permitted to be ordained if rigorous scrutiny of the spiritual directors of seminary formations was adhered to.

We're not looking for supermen to be ordained in to the clergy. What we are seeking is men primarily of the utmost holiness to be ordained in to the church and to help lead the flock to God.

The Laity in the church need to start bombarding the seminaries and the bishops about retrabates such as Father Horan. It is intolerable that this cancer be permitted to spread their lies and their deceit while remaining ordained members of the church.

A body infected with cancer has little hope of survival if the cancer is not removed first.
Only after a cancer has been removes, does a body possess a chance to survive.

I'd urge faithful Catholics to make your views know to OFM on the attached link.

We, the Laity, need to start speaking up and to let the orders and church know in no uncertain terms what our views are.

"Horan is what V.I. Lenin called a "useful idiot."

He's what the devil calls a useful idiot, and what Our Lord calls a blind man leading the blind.

Great! Another religous celebrity, just what the church propaganda machine needs.

@Paul Morphy
I've tried to make contact with OFM through the link you give but they don't provide any means of contact. I also tried Archbishoo José Rodríguez Carballo of Institute of Consecrated Life & Societies of Apostolic Life & Cardinal Cupich but neither give email addresses. How can we lodge our complaint against this man? If you can help I will certainly follow-up. Thanks.

How are we supposed to pray for vocations. How can I pray for normal young men to subject themselves to superiors and brothers like these? I wouldn't wish that on them. I can't pray for that.

@Paul Morphy

Att: Ana Milan : I'll try to get another link to an email address so that one can write a letter of protest to the Provincial of OFM about Daniel Horan.

I assumed that the previous link would have contained an email address

CTU (Catholic Theological Union) is a joke. I wouldn't get too worked up in terms of his corruption of students at that "institution". Anyone that goes there either is looking for heresy and stupidity wrapped up in the mantle of social justice blather, or they find out soon after enrolling.

There are some terrible products of CTU out in the world. I have dealt with many.

Fyi, if you've been blocked, you can still post comments on his blog. (I'll get blocked there, too, I'm sure.)

God have mercy on Seattle's St. James Cathedral, this loon is speaking on the Seven Last Word of Christ this Good Friday. This is to be expected from the Pastor there, not the current Archbishop.

Michael Dowd said...

Ann Milan is right. Stop the flow of funds to any diocese that features anyone who doesn't support strict Catholic orthodoxy.

I know Dan and his family personally. These comments and accusations are baseless and petty.
