Bergoglian Barbarians at the gates of Rome!

A beautiful tradition in Rome has been the extension of the Christmas season until Candlemas on February 2, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord or the Purification of Mary. In the Fox and Vox homestead, I assure you, the tree is up and well watered, we cut it ourselves in early December and left it in water outside until the 23rd of December, the Mangers are lovingly displayed and all the outside lights still glow on the bushes. They will remain until we come home from church on Candlemas. Since we read the Divine Office according to the pre-1955 Divino Afflatu, we are still basking in the glow of the Octave of Epiphany. What a tragic loss began in that year when Annibale Bugnini began taking advantage of the trust of an every weakening Pius XII and the destruction of the liturgy began.

Though the official liturgical end of Christmas in the Nervous Disordered modernist liturgy, the "banal" and "on the spot product" of deformed Catholic minds, is the end of Vespers of the Baptism of the Lord, the ancient tradition in St. Peter's Square has always been to maintain the Nativity and Christmas Tree until Candlemas.

That ended today.

Hmmm, interestingly, I went to my "parish" church yesterday for my usual time of adoration (my real parish of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church is too far distant), and still enjoyed the Nativity. Today, Wednesday, the Nativity is **poof** So for the Nervous Disordered, "Xmas" seems to officially end on January 10.

PS Vox, thanks for all your efforts. It's like David against Goliath, but all the pebbles will help bring the varmint down!!!

Not at the gate, well within the walls.

Apparently it's too rigid to expect that beautiful traditions might be maintained in the Catholic Church.

Do you ever get the sense that Bergoglio feels there is too much Jesus Christ in Christianity? He seems to have a hard time saying our Lord's name let alone genuflecting. I mean, are we even certain that the good shepherd on his pectoral cross is, in fact, a representation of Jesus Christ? Maybe, to Jorge, it just represents someone on the periphery in an irregular situation?

"I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance."

Probably some Islamic holiday coming up, and they didn't want to offend anyone.

We took the tree down January 6 but I still have the Nativity up on the kitchen counter. Probably I'll leave it up till Candlemas. Growing up, I never thought about the Christmas season being extended until that time but going to a traditional church and seeing it in action has really changed my view. I don't know why more people don't follow this; it's a nice light in the dark gloomy January days.

We have to work at extending Christmas to Jan 9. Valentines in the stores already last week. They were calling the holiday season "sparkle season" several years ago. They are all of the same ilk. Strip things away slowly but surely. If they could say, like the demons, "anything but God" they would. Thanks all your good your information Vox.

That picture makes me want to cry.

It's stupid of me, but it's the smaller things with this reign of terror that always knock me down. The big things I'm braced for.

I can and do ignore the world around me and relish Christmas with JOY in my home until Candlemas.

And it's not like I don't fully understand just how apostate most of Rome is.

But I think it's the stripping away of a last bit of respect and gratitude shown for our Savior that just stabs my heart.
