Phyllis Zagano and National Schismatic Reporter accuse Vox Cantoris of schism - calumny tweeted out by Tom Rosica. Where's the mercy for us "self-absorbed, promethean, neo-Pelagians?"

This writer has been accused by the National "Catholic" Reporter of being a schismatic.

That's rich coming from a newspaper that has been ordered by more than one Bishop to remove the word "Catholic" from it's title.

Phyllis Zagano recently lectured at St. Michael's College in Toronto; a lecture promoting the cause of so-called "women deacons." The attention given to her thesis also ended up in the Archdiocesan owned Catholic Register. The conference was also attended by the Judicial Vicar for the Archdiocese of Toronto. Did he rebuke her?  That College is a Baslian institution, the same Congregation to which Thomas J. Rosica belongs.

Who are the schismatics?

Yet, Phyllis Zagano has the uncharitable and unmitigated gall to label this blogger, a schismatic. She, who is travelling around to diocese after diocese as a dissenter promoting the idea that there were women deacons who had a liturgical purpose and should again. That, is not Catholic. That, is a schismatic attitude.

While she refers to bloggers in general, she highlights the vexatious and frivolous threat of a lawsuit by Thomas J. Rosica, CSB of the ever failing and irrelevant Salt + Light and sometimes Vatican "volunteer" spokesperson, which may change under the new lay director, Greg Burke. Yet, she states it in such a way that his idiotic and stupid action had any effect other than to raise the readers of this blog by 2,000,000! Pretty smart move, Tom.

You can read it below without clicking there.

I follow the faith of my mother and father. Do they?

I worship in the manner that my Lebanese grandparents did when they came to Canada. Do Phyllis or Tom worship in the manner of their Italian ancestors?

I believe everything that my parents were taught by the faith. That men marry women, that adultery is a grievous sin, that sodomy is one of the four sins crying out to heaven for justice and that there is no mercy without truth and justice. Do they?

I married my wife in the same ceremony that her parents were married in Capetown and mine in Toronto. Does that make me a schismatic?

I accept that Jorge Bergoglio is the Bishop of Rome because the priests of that Diocese accept him as such and as such, he is the Pope, for better or worse. Mostly worse and that does not make me a schismatic. Though I really think he should contact Gammarelli about his mitre.

Tom Rosica has frequently said that "doctrine changes when pastoral contexts shift and new insights emerge." Is that Catholic truth?

I believe all that the historical magisterium of the Catholic Church teaches and She teaches what I believe. Do they?

Who then, are the schismatics?

Listen Phyllis, you've lost. This screed from you and Tom and many others proves it.

Your FrancisChurch is going to come crashing down.

Very soon.

Thanks for being a bright light, Vox. You make me smile and thank God for you.

I clicked on the Zagano article, not realizing that it was at the schismatic reporter. (The new aggregate site, Canon212, did not warn that the link would go to NcR.
That woman is scary. To be in that much disagreement with Catholic teaching and yet refuse to leave -- it is of the devil.
Poor Phyllis, the youth have already shown that they don't give a flip about the NuChurch. They'll take it or leave it, unless they are getting to lead some catholic lite "retreat" or attending a teen social event. They might pop in for an occasional Mass (Saturday 5:00, t-shirts & shorts, so they can sleep in on Sunday), but they are all for same-sex pseudo marriage and contraception. Meanwhile, I see teens and twenty-somethings at our TLM parish walking around with copies of writings of the Church Fathers or Gueranger. And the families are a lot bigger.

"Meanwhile, older church professionals who adjusted to vernacular liturgies and who incorporate mercy into their understandings of justice are retiring daily. They are being replaced, where they are replaced, by people whose theological education is complemented by self-appointed Internet theo-bloggers whose opinions grow from the conviction that anything that happened since 1965 is anathema."

The "We Are Church" crowd is slowly realizing that their time to wreak havoc is drawing to a close, and that the next generation wants to see order restored in the Church. The next ten years will be rough.

Even you, but considering your previous comments, you obviously aren't.

Well, given your point of view you have some validity. However, she does have a point about you. Some of your writings on this blog are questionable such as calling the N.O a bastard rite. Your Cardinal wouldn't be impressed with that.

Go get 'en, Vox! How I wish I could be a high profile enough Catholic to p*ss these jackals off the way you do.

Vox Cantoris said...

I did not originate the term, "bastard rite." It is valid, that is not the point. Given its manufacture, the theology behind it, the manipulation to implement it, the deceit, the abuses, I would call it a bastardised or bastard rite.

Greg, I have deleted your recent comment. If you would like to post it again without the vulgarity, fine. I let it go once or twice but enough, okay?

She certainly sounds like a "hired gun" and an advocate for Fr. Rosica. Real intellectuals and academics don't write inflammatory rants like that.

Our kids are many and faithfully catholics. Our priests are young and enthusiast. Don´t know Ms Zagano situation, nor the Basilian order, but im sure that time is on our side.

hi vox, new (younger) reader.
when you say that women deacons never served a liturgical purpose, what do you mean?
i thought they performed baptisms in the ancient church when everyone was baptized nude. so they baptized women to preserve modesty.
did i understand wrong?
i know that modern ppl want women admitted as deacons so they can push for women priests.
but i thought women deacons legitimately existed.
can someone help?

I have to commend you for your fortitude towards your persecutors.

Maybe they forgot that this is supposed to be the Year of Mercy? Seriously, if you tried to castigate them like they did to you, I'd bet my bottom dollar that one or both of them would try to say to you:. Vox, this is the Year of Mercy. Why don't you forgive and forget? Remember:... forgive us our trespasses AS we forgive those who trespass against us..." (You get the idea.)

May St. Michael defend you!

Just read the book "UNGODLY RAGE" will then know where this woman is coming from. And it is not Catholic!

Of course she is Father Rosica in drag. You hit the jackpot when it comes to rockin' the devil's boat. I envy you. Take a deep breath. sit down. Tap your feet. Enjoy.

Vox with all due respect please stop showing that close up picture of Rosica, given yours and my own personal dealings with him in the past, it literally makes me sick. God forgive me.

The problem begins accepting the lie of the false papacy man made when Benedict is still alive and he has not renounced the papacy just drop the charge for fear of the wolves. Schismatics are those who are joining and accept Bergoglio as Pope when he was an modernist formal heretic since Argentina and the Church teach us the heretic dont belong to the Church.
Please investigate more and Read more about this
 St. Vincent Ferrer O.P.
Sixth. It is true of faith that the pope has full authority over all. As Christ said to Peter: and whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.(Mt. XVI, 19). If there were two popes at once one would have more power than the other, or not? If one did not have more power than the other, neither would be pope because the pope has authority over all, as stated above. If the lower had it he would not be pope. So the Lord promised speaking by Ezekiel: I will save my flock, and will never be prey to the nations; I will raise up for her only one pastor, who will shepherd them (Ez. XXXIV, 28 and 31). For all these reasons it is clear that it is wrong to believe that the two chosen in question are true popes. Therefore, erring very seriously who, in an effort to obtain graces and dispensations, or achieve any kind of privileges, go to each other, revering like real popes. For being true that both cannot be popes one of them is an apostate and anti-pope. It is clear that those in their pleas revere both as such; they can not escape to the penalties and curses prescribed at the canon of the Decree begins in the name of the Lord ...(J. Gratianus, Decretum (Concordantia discordantium canonum) 1, dist. 23, e. 1 : 44 In nomine Domini"). And no one can be excused in this ignorance, as will be seen in what follows
