What a real Pope would do

The Young Pope really is a show that is more clever than one might think and those guys knew what's up.

Sadly it contains nudity and sex scenes that are a point of contention when recommending it. Though these scenes are more for shock value than to be sensual, but your mileage may vary. But do know that this is for ADULTS ONLY. And those only strong enough in their faith to discern the situations presented.

But absent that point, and other quibbles here and there, overall it is a good treatment of the power plays inside the Vatican, and we can only dream of a guy like Pius XIII at this stage as someone having the balls and intelligence to maneuver around the corruption in the Vatican and face off against the secular world.

I've been trying to use the show as a soft way of getting certain people and family to begin to understand what is going on.

In fact, given what we've recently learnt about Francis and all that is going on, the show actually treats the situation with kids gloves. Truth once again is stranger than fiction.

Truth is stranger than fiction, because at least this man questioned had the decency to answer a direct question with a direct answer. That man who played the Archbishop did some pretty fancy acting there, his facial expression and gestures were sublimely subtle, but conveyed so much! He made you feel the pain of the truthful answer.

I don't watch shows like this myself, it's too frustrating knowing how it really is. Malachi Martin had it right, our church is like a big snake pit.
