Vatican again intercedes into United States Presidential Politics!

In the last few months, we have seen the invitation of socialist Bernie Sanders to the Vatican, including an intentional set-up for him to just happen to run into Pope Francis by accident.

Not long before that, and for some reason beyond the grasp of this simple fellow, Tom Rosica, CSB, Executive Producer at Salt + Light Television interviewed the man who covets The White House and who spent his honeymoon in the Soviet Union.

This came just a few weeks after the same Bishop of Rome stated that anyone who wants to build a wall, is not a "Christian" with reference to Donald Trump's intent on securing the border of the southern United States.

Barona at Toronto Catholic Witness has discovered a little interesting information in La Civiltà Cattolica; a magazine with the main confidant of the Jorge Bergoglio as its editor and publisher. It is fair to say that Spadaro's influence is a dangerous thing.

Barona asks the question at Toronto Catholic Witness.

In regard to claims about supposed Vatican meddling in the U.S. presidential election issued by a few Traditional Catholic bloggers, such as Toronto Catholic Witness: I have not encountered any sense that American voters believe that "Vatican" has "meddled" in "US Presidential Elections".

Bernie Sanders' visit to Rome enraged certain Catholic bloggers. However, Sanders' visit to Rome turned rapidly into a non-story among American voters. Nobody cared about Bernie Sanders' having traveled to Rome.

The Pope Francis/Donald Trump "build a wall" story died within hours after the secular news media (as well as certain Traditional Catholic bloggers) had misrepresented the Pope's comments in question.

Donald Trump, in fact, destroyed the story later that night during his appearance on a CNN Town Hall meeting in South Carolina. Donald Trump attacked the news media for having lied earlier that day when reporters claimed that Pope Francis declared that Donald Trump was not a Christian. Pope Francis did not say that.

Donald Trump, on CNN, denounced the news media for having "misrepresented" Pope Francis' comments in question....then praised Pope Francis..."I like his personality; I like what he represents...a wonderful guy".

CNN later acknowledged the following:

"Trump called the Pope a "wonderful guy" and blamed the day's drama on the press. I think he said something much softer than was originally reported by the media."

Anyway, outside the claims found on a few Catholic blogs, I haven't encountered any sense in America that anybody is up in arms in regard to supposed Vatican "interference" in the U.S. presidential election.

Most certainly, the overwhelming amount of Catholics in the United States vote as they please. That is why the notion that "La Civiltà Cattolica" could even possibly influence the U.S. presidential election is preposterous.

Anybody who worries about "La Civiltà Cattolica" its "influence" on the presidential election doesn't understand Catholic voters in the United States.

Pax.

Dear Vox. Tsk tsk, tsk The Papolatrists are not happy with you.

The first rule of Papolatry is that when he says something orthodox then it is unquestionably truthful that he was quoted accurately.

The second rule of Papolatry is if he says something heterodox - not a rarity- his words are assumed to have been mistranslated and he meant the exact opposite but even if his words were not mistranslated he was right to say what he did and why are you always so angry?

I think you meant to say 'interferes.' That would be better English usage.

God willing, it's 'difficult to overcome.'

No Karl, I used "intercedes" intentionally and as a satire.
