The Papolatry given to this Francis of Rome has now even been articulated by Cardinal Müller

From the Eponymous Flower and Katholiches
[Katholisches] "Every Catholic, especially every bishop and every cardinal, has a positive and constructive relationship with the Pope. But this is anything but courtly manners and the groveling of subordinates, against which Pope Francis always spoke."
"That means that not everything he does and says is, from the outset, already perfect and unquestionable."
"There should be no personal cult and a pope-touching tourism."
Cardinal Gerhard Muller, prefect of the Roman Congregation for the Congregation of the Doctrine and the Faith, no longer in office, on Pope Franziskus, report of the German Press Agency (DPA), quoted from Der Spiegel v. July 19, 2017.

Now, can we get this Cardinal to speak up about a few more things of which he knows?

Muller's replacement, The new Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Archbishop Luis Ladaria, has now said:

‘I am in a deep and spontaneous harmony with the Pope’.

"Deep and spontaneous harmony"? What if the Pope is wrong? Truly, the job of the Prefect and the curia in general is to serve the pope, but they are to serve Christ first. The presumption is, of course, that the pope is serving Christ.

This writer has referred many times to "papolatry." It is a sin. It is a violation of the First Commandment of God. The Pope is a man. He is the servant of the servants of God. He is to be respected and obeyed in so far as he is carrying out the true faith and teaching true doctrine in line with his predecessors and the Magisterium.

When he deviates from the truth, he is to be corrected. If he refuses to be corrected, then he is to be ignored and if necessary, publicly scolded for his apostasy and heresy. These are not personal sins, this is public scandal. However, his heresy and apostasy is magnified when his minions in clerics and the faithful people in their ignorance and blind obedience, give unto any pope, that which is reserved to God alone. Add to this, a character of infallibility that is just not what the Church teachers or has ever taught. Protestants, Neo-Caths and Sedevacantists carry this papal authority too far. The First Vatican Council in its declaration of infallibility did not give power to the pope, it defined it, and, it limited it.

Do not ascribe to the Bishop of Rome that which he does not have!

Why are Catholics doing what Protestants have accused Catholics of doing, worshiping the pope as if his passing of gas has the scent of frankincense? His is not the odour of sanctity, it is more like sulphur.

Stop this papolatry!

No pope, not John Paul II not Francis is to be given such treatment. It is all around Francis, people are blind, they are sycophantic, but they are waking up. Unfortunately, there are those around him who are lusting at the ability to exploit peoples good intentions and ignorance and this pope's megalomonia for their own evil purposes.

May God deliver us soon from this Peronist Pope and the Jesuit and sodomite regime that has seized control of the Church.

Cardinal Muller Bishop Schneider will not say that Pope Francis has made an objective mistake and violates the Principle of Non Contradiction

Perhaps so many agree with pope Francis because he conspires in their sinfulness as if the devil were on the Chair of Peter. Let us pray for Pope Francis and the many shepherds who are leading people to perdition that they may awaken to their errant ways and help us follow the Way, Truth and Light of Christ.

Amen Vox and if you think this is bad, just wait until the canonisation of Paul VI (We won't have long to wait)

The problem with ++ Müller was that he held the second highest office in the CC and yet did nothing positive to publicly rebuke PF on his countless errors, blasphemies & dumbing down of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church of Christ on earth & its adherents.

PF is obviously a non-Catholic politician of the Peronist variety who should never have been elevated to the position we are informed he holds, regardless of how he managed to get there. One would naturally assume that all candidates for election to the Papal Office would at least be confirmed, ordained & consecrated Catholic men of high standing who were thoroughly schooled in theology, canon law etc. in order to properly lead the world's Catholics to Heaven, & to preach the Truth to infidels. Anyone not meeting this standard should never be approved for possible election. We have a right to know what's going on & ++ Müller denied us that right. By stymieing the formal correction & admonishing the Dubia Cardinals he not only let himself down, but the Office of the Prefect of the CDF & betrayed God. Anything he is now willing to transmit has lost its flavour as he is already yesterday's man.

How do sedevacantists carry papal authority too far?

Vox Cantoris said...

I love my Sedevacantist friends, Dr. Lamb, in particular who writes here often.

What I mean, is this; they hold that no every Catholic must obey every word coming from the pope. That a pope, cannot state an error because then he would cease to be pope because he would be a heretic.

Therefore, any man who is a heretic cannot be pope and that is why they feel free to criticize the popes since 1958, to them, they are not popes.

They ascribe to the pope infallibility in the broadest sense, it is only on faith and morals.

We can have bad popes, we can have anti popes, we have never had a pope to now who has formally declared and promulgated heresy to be held definitively by Catholics.

This pope, Jorge Bergoglio has spewed much that is wrong, some of it is heresy, but it is not within our qualification to declare him that formally. It does not mean that he is not, a heretic, but we cannot declare it.

But I will say this, I have more in common in my Toronto home with my friend in London and Dr. Lamb in S.A. than I do with the people in my territorial parish, a door which I shall not darken.

They are Catholic, they are in crisis and wounded as we all are, they have chosen to understand the problem differently. That is my view.

I agree that a Pope can be "bad", making terrible decisions or leading scandalous lives. I also believe they can make errors. Not everything they utter is infaillable. But I do not agree that a public heretic can be Pope. Its not a matter of making a mistake here and there, Bergolio has publically demonstrated to the whole world by word and deed that he does not profess the Catholic faith. The same can be said for all the conciliar popes. I beleive "papolatry" is more a problem with neo-cath NO conservatives.

We do not have the authority to proclaim authoritatively that Bergoglio is an invalid pope, but we are free to understand within our own souls that the man is a heretic and no friend of Jesus Christ. If one does not understand just what corruption is guiding the institutional Church, one will really be confused and standing on the threshold of betraying Her and Her Lord when PF puts forth a new 'ecumenical Mass' composed of Lutherans. Anglicans, and so-called Catholics. It's coming. Wait for it. There will be no consecration of the bread and wine and therefore no Precious Body and Blood of Christ. No offering of Him to God the Father either during this abomination of worship. Do you think that we should uphold this devil in Rome then? A 'pope' who rampages through the Church destroying Her very essence is not a valid pope. Understand I am not speaking with the authority of the Church. I am speaking as a Catholic who is called to uphold the fullness of the Catholic Faith, in order to remain loyal to Jesus Christ and the fullness of the Revelation He gave to us. Do you not understand the absolute idiocy of remaining loyal to this monster and his minions in Rome? This is not just a 'bad pope'. This is the destroyer that Francis of Assisi said would come. It is happening before our eyes. We have a pope who was forced out and is held as a virtual prisoner in Rome. Bergoglio has lost his ecclesial authority a long time ago; in fact, I would wager to venture that he never had it. He is heading up the apostasy of Rome. The Church will go underground because it is apparent that no prelate can muster the strength to do what needs to be done. How sickening that Cardinal Mueller speaks negatively against Bergoglio now, but would not when he held the most powerful. position as Head of the CDF. Our duty as loyal Catholics is to the fullness of the Catholic Faith, not to an antipope. This is not about the 'legality ' of waiting for some ecclesial authority to do his job so we can be legally in alliance with Rome. Our call is to be in alliance with Christ and His Church. The Church--the institutional Church-- is where the fullness of the Catholic Faith is upheld.

Papolatry and idolation of your regular parish priest - a phenomenom just as insidious, if you ask me - are akin to the celebrity worship we see around us. Is it any surprise? Not according to my fellow yutes. I can't even critique Rosica without someone going on about how he might have not meant to be disrespectful of the BVM.

We need a new name for the idolation of parish priests.

What's to blame for these newest celebrities?

Jesus said: I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. He did not say: There are many ways, and I am one of them.
Any believer, let alone priest or pope, should understand this much. It really isn't complicated.
We all remember Bergoglio's unity video, where baby Jesus is representing Catholicism. Why not Santa? - one politically correct might ask.

I am sure that many otherwise rational people have been blinded by the intricacies of the Cannon Law. They cease to see the obvious - Bergoglio is a one-worlder, so to speak, a politician promoting Jesus Christ as one among many equally valid ways, fighting for an equitable redistribution of the earth's resources, even as an atheist, being the preferred one.

As far as I am concerned, that video alone disqualifies Bergolio from being the Vicar of Christ. Pondering whether he is a material or any other kind of heretic is simply laughable to me. Is there any wonder the man disrespects us so? He calls us rigid and legalistic for a good reason.

Please, forgive me for being so blunt yet again. I would rather be wrong and rightfully chastised, but there just isn't any way this could be. You CAN chastise me, but that would make you legalistic and rigid. Jesus is THE Way, THE Truth and THE Life. He said so Himself. I do not care how Bergoglio has allegedly evolved to make our simple faith into a game where he makes the rules, a... language event, where no word is left not redefined, not contextualised to fit an agenda.

Who am I to judge? - An average human being with an average intelligence, who was blessed with honest parents, and who can understand simple messages. THE Way, Truth, Life. Jesus is LIFE. Bergoglio with his god of surprises simply betrays Him. I am not even afraid of consequences, of God's justice, for saying it.

Barbara Jensen. Good comment. The Novus Ordo Mass we have now was a major step in the Protestant direction and was approved by Protestant ministers at the time it was created. Yes, and it can only get worse.

Irenaeus,

Parocholatria?

I do not use the term "papolatry" because it was conceived in Protestantism. Besides, the sycophants of Pope Francis are not actually adoring him as a god, but irrationally extending pontifical infallibility beyond the criteria posed by His Divine Majesty. It has been the typical modus operandi of the subversive elements within the Church whenever they had the Pope under their sway. When the Pope contradicted their agenda, however, this 'extended papal infallibility' of theirs disappeared like snow before the sun. Very 'convenient' for them.

There is some kind of confusion of terminologies going on throughout the internet. I see words like "ultramontanism" and "clericalism" employed to describe the tyrannical behaviour of the present Pope of Rome and his yes-men, while these words were originally used as synonymous with Catholicism, and specifically the teachings of the First Vatican Council. People must stop doing this, because the enemy of "ultramontanism" and "clericalism" is sitting right there upon the august Apostolical See, abusing his authority to push forth his ecclesiastical hippie revolution.

I am convinced that God has permitted Pope Francis to be unleashed on the Church so that the Ratzingerian paradigm of equilibrium between so-called 'conservatives' and 'progressives would be shattered irrevocably. I remember well how stagnant this situation was in the days of Benedict XVI as Pope, and how the Ratzingerians insisted on the impossible pretense that the errors of Paul VI were not inherently erroneous, and that the texts could be reconciled with the Apostolic Tradition. They would even refuse the Roman Mass to those who were unwilling to burn this grain of incense to 'Mother Synthesis' on the altars of Hegel. Pope Francis, since his election, has been painfully embarrassing them to the point where those who continue to write seriously about the Ratzingerian "Hermeneutics of Continuity", read as if their articles are pieces of intended satire.

Let the Princes of the Church recognise the divine visitation, and attack the problems within the Church at their root; the invisible coup d'état wrought by Judeo-Masonry during the Second Vatican Council. Let them finally admit that "Dignitatis Humanae", "Nostra Aetate" and "Amoris Laetitia" must be condemned as objectively saturated with the depraved spirit of the maçonnerie, instead of continuing to insist that they be "read in the light of Tradition", which is impossible. When one shines the light of Tradition upon them, hideous devils are seen, not continuity. Francis is but the bitter fruit of a bitter tree.

This papolatry began innocently under Pius XII. We all know the various incidents during the War and his public appearances. Catholics were also blessed - too much perhaps? - with decent Popes. I was tempted to say Holy and that itself shows how pspolatry had entered Catholic DNA. No, the Pope is only a man and Christ's first ambassador. Quickly the devil moved in and exploited modern technology in a superficial and celebrity age, building up the Pope - using the natural acting gifts of John Paul II to truly make the world a stage. It continued under Benediict to some degree, though no longer driven by forces in the Vatican. Under Francis we see a concerted effort by promoters, PR men etc. to truly take it to s level of idol worship unrecognizable by Catholics. This we have not only priests but bishops claiming the Pope is an oracle of the Holy Spirit. That each word uttered is under His guidance. This is absolutely false and heretical. This is the attitude that Mohammedans had and have with the Koran and the Hadiths. God did a "brain dump" into Mohammed, do the Mohommedans imply. Is there any difference with Catholics who claim that Francis is basically a walking automaton mouthing words that have been "brain dumped" into him? Irenaeus is also correct that there is far too much priestolatry as well. No wonder homosexuals love being priests. Narcissists crave adulation. Stop adoring the pope, your bishop and your priests! They are men and only men. Sadly, the evidence would suggest that a substantial percentage are not even men. Let us pray for these poor deluded souls.

Yes it is refreshing to know there are others who refuse to live a contradiction. If they believe Bergolio is a heretic then how in Heaven's name can they also believe he is a Catholic? No authority is needed to connect these dots. Just reason.

Many on this com box are forgetting that Mr. Bergoglio has formally propagated heresy in Evangelii Gaudium wherein it was stated that the Old Covenant remains true for the Jews and thus declaring a dual track for salvation. If this isn't a form of apostasy, I don't know what is. This was also touted by ALL the V2 claimants to the papacy. These men cannot be valid popes. If you are in agreement with them, you run counter to Holy Mother Church's magisterial teachings consistent from the beginning of the Church. Truth never never never changes, nor can it ever morph into something else due to "further understanding." Someone else said it better than I: "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation - for the Jew first and also for the Greek." St. Paul Romans chapter 1.

Peter Lamb said...

"... Sedevacantists carry this papal authority too far. The First Vatican Council in its declaration of infallibility did not give power to the pope, it defined it, and, it limited it."

Papolatry, as defined in this post, is crazy and no informed Catholic would accept such a ridiculous appreciation of the Pope's authority, or infallibility - at least no sede would. No Vox, sedes have a completely traditional appreciation of the Pope's Authority and Infallibility.

Christ built his Church on the foundation rock of St.Peter. To him and his successors He gave the Keys; the power of loosing and
binding; of preserving and passing on the Faith, intact and incorrupt, as he received, it under the guidance and protection of the Holy Ghost. The pope is the sovereign Visible Head of Christ's Church and the Vicar of Christ. He rules the Church by the authority of Christ Himself. Christ's Church is a Monarchy. It is not a Democracy. He is the Teacher, we are the Taught. In matters of Faith, Morals and Church Governance, we obey him as we would submit to and obey Christ Himself. This is not "papolatry", this is Catholic doctrine. Of course none of this applies to bergoglio and judeo-masonic mates, who is/were not Pope/s, or Catholic/s.

Of course, this modern fashion of laymen, or any cleric, sifting the teaching of him whom they recognize as being a true Pope, according to their own opinions, is a gross protestant aberration unknown to Catholics.

Widespread today, is the misconception that the Church’s, or the Pope’s Authority derives from their inability to be wrong, but this is not the case. Rather, the Church and the Pope are authoritative because they are the divinely-appointed Teacher, infallible, or not. This is beautifully explained by Canon George Smith in his 1935 essay, “Must I Believe It?”. Thus, the Pope has the right and the power to bind his subjects’ consciences, not because he is infallible, but because he is the Vicar of Christ. This is something continually ignored and denied by the SSPX and the various “resistance traditionalists.”

Pope Pius IX, published Redditae Sunt almost 20 years before the Declaration of papal infallibility:
"In fact, Venerable Brother, you are not ignorant of the truth that nothing should be nearer to a Catholic Bishop, nothing is more obligatory for him, than heartfelt respect for the supreme power of this Chair of St. Peter, whence flows sacerdotal unity, the ordination of bishops, and the government of the Church; than to defend with all his strength the rights of this See and to honor them, splendid as they are with an authority, not human, but divine; than to attach himself firmly to the Sovereign Pontiff, to recognize him, faithfully to render to him all respect and obedience, this Pontiff, placed in this See, who has received from Our Lord Himself in the person of the Blessed Prince of the Apostles, all power to feed the sheep and the lambs, to confirm his brethren, to rule and govern the whole Church throughout the world.
(Pope Pius IX, Apostolic Letter Redditae Sunt, Jan. 6, 1851; excerpted in Papal Teachings: The Church, p. 153.)

Nor can we pass over in silence the audacity of those who, not enduring sound doctrine, contend that “without sin and without any sacrifice of the Catholic profession assent and obedience may be refused to those judgments and decrees of the Apostolic See, whose object is declared to concern the Church's general good and her rights and discipline, so only it does not touch the dogmata of faith and morals.” But no one can be found not clearly and distinctly to see and understand how grievously this is opposed to the Catholic dogmaof the full power given from God by Christ our Lord Himself to the Roman Pontiff of feeding, ruling and guiding the Universal Church. (Pope Pius IX, Encyclical Quanta Cura, n. 5.)

Peter Lamb said...

"... contempt of the Church's authority is opposed to the command of Christ and consequently opposes the apostles and their successors, the Church's ministers who speak as their representatives. He who hears you, hears me; and he who despises you, despises me [Lk 10:16]; and the Church is the pillar and firmament of truth, as the apostle Paul teaches [1 Tim 3:15]. In reference to these words St. Augustine says: “Whoever is without the Church will not be reckoned among the sons, and whoever does not want to have the Church as mother will not have God as father.”
Therefore, venerable brothers, keep all these words in mind and often reflect on them. Teach your people great reverence for the Church's authority which has been directly established by God. Do not lose heart. With St. Augustine We say that “all around us the waters of the flood are roaring, that is, the multiplicity of conflicting teaching. We are not in the flood but it surrounds us. We are hard pressed but not overwhelmed, buffeted but not submerged.”(Pope Leo XII, Encyclical Ubi Primum, nn. 22-23.)
…So it has been a common characteristic both of the ancient heretics and of the more recent Protestants -- whose disunity in all their other tenets is so great -- to attack the authority of the Apostolic See. Butnever at any time were they able by any artifice or exertion to make this See tolerate even a single one of their errors. (Pope Pius IX, Encyclical Noscitis et Nobiscum, nn. 16-17.)
When one loves the pope one does not stop to debate about what he advises or demands, to ask how far the rigorous duty of obedience extends and to mark the limit of this obligation. When one loves the pope, one does not object that he has not spoken clearly enough, as if he were obliged to repeat into the ear of each individual his will, so often clearly expressed, not only viva voce, but also by letters and other public documents; one does not call his orders into doubt on the pretext – easily advanced by whoever does not wish to obey – that they emanate not directly from him, but from his entourage; one does not limit the field in which he can and should exercise his will; one does not oppose to the authority of the pope that of other persons, however learned, who differ in opinion from the pope. Besides, however great their knowledge, their holiness is wanting, for there can be no holiness where there is disagreement with the pope. (Pope St. Pius X, Address to the Priests of the Apostolic Union, Nov. 18, 1912; in Acta Apostolicae Sedis 4 [1912], p. 695)
To the shepherds alone was given all power to teach, to judge, to direct; on the faithful was imposed the duty of following their teaching, of submitting with docility to their judgment, and of allowing themselves to be governed, corrected, and guided by them in the way of salvation. Thus, it is an absolute necessity for the simple faithful to submit in mind and heart to their own pastors, and for the latter to submit with them to the Head and Supreme Pastor. (Pope Leo XIII, Apostolic Letter Epistola Tua, 1885)

Peter Lamb said...

There is plenty more, but I will stop for some sort of brevity. Space is inadequate to discuss Papal Infallibility, but let me squeeze a few facts in: Vatican I did NOT limit the Pope's Infallibility; the Ordinary Universal magisterium is every bit as infallible as the Solemn magisterium; the Solemn magisterium is simply part of the Ordinary magisterium; Catholics are obliged to submit to both.
Finally:
"The Holy Apostolic See and the Roman Pontiff have primacy in the entire world. The Roman Pontiff is the Successor of Blessed Peter, the Prince of the Apostles, true Vicar of Christ, Head of the whole Church, Father and Teacher of all Christians." (Pope Benedict XIV, Apostolic Constitution Etsi Pastoralis, May 26, 1742; excerpted in Papal Teachings: The Church, p. 32.)
And:
"Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff." (Pope Boniface VIII, Bull Unam Sanctam, Nov. 18, 1302.)
But remember: None of the above applies to bergoglio et al!

If you believe Bergolio is Pope then you must believe that salvation is possible thru all religions. That is what the conciliar magesterium has been teaching for decades. To not believe this new magesterial teaching and to cling to EENS makes you a heretic of the new church. So if you want to remain in union with your pope, you need to renounce all your traditional beliefs and get on board with modernism.
