Father Robert Reddy of the Archdiocese of Toronto - Requiescat in Pace.

Fr. Bob Reddy - Rest in Peace May 16, 2020

The Reverend Robert Reddy of the Archdiocese of Toronto has passed away. He was in residence at St. Mary's in Barrie and was formerly the pastor at St. Andrew's Church in Brechin, Holy Family in Whitby and at St. Mary Immaculate in Richmond Hill, Ontario which is where I came to know him. Father Reddy was a great priest, faithful, kind and doctrinally sound. While not offering the traditional Mass himself, he was a friend of tradition in every way. He welcomed the traditional Mass at St. Mary Immaculate by his Associate Pastor and never turned down a request by the Toronto Traditional Mass Society - Una Voce Toronto - for the use of the church for Feast Day Masses.

I will miss him.

Please remember Father Reddy in your prayers at Mass today in whatever way It takes place.

O GOD, Thou didst raise Thy servant, Robert,
to the sacred priesthood of Jesus Christ,
according to the Order of Melchisedech,
giving him the sublime power
to offer the Eternal Sacrifice,
to bring the Body and Blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ down upon the altar,
and to absolve the sins of men in Thine own Holy Name.
We beseech Thee to reward his faithfulness
and to forget his faults,
admitting him speedily into Thy Holy Presence,
there to enjoy forever the recompense of his labours.
This we ask through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord.

Amen.

Amen. May he rest in peace.
He's gone on to his reward for being a faithful priest. He wouldn't come back if he could.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Fr. Robert Reddy, our Fr. Bob, Pastor at Holy Family Parish until 2008 when he went to St. Andrews. He was a very welcoming priest, always with a kind smile on his face and his homilies were exceptional. I can truly say that I came away from every homily with new insight or excitement about his comments especially when he talked about Ratisbonne. May he rest in peace. Thank you God for faithful Fr. Bob.

Hello Father, well he had some chronic conditions but his death came as a shock. He was found to have died overnight at home in the rectory. It was not Covid.

While preparing for my mother's funeral in early November of last year at St Mary's in Barrie, my husband and I just happened to see Father Bob. He had been our pastor at Holy Family in Whitby for many years. It was so good to see him and we had such a nice chat catching up. He told us about his health issues but he seemed determined to overcome them. I reminded him of a church picnic we had attended when our kids were little. He had an uproariously good time spraying some of the kids with a water gun. This is very sad news as he was not very old. Our prayers will be for his soul and sincerest condolences to his family.

A great priest and Pastor at Holy Family in Whitby. He had a great ability to communicate and connect with his parishioners. He will be truly missed but I'm sure there is great rejoicing in heaven. Thank you for your faithful service Fr. Bob.

We had the pleasure of getting to know Fr. Reddy at Holy Family Parish when we moved to Whitby. From 1996 until Fr. Bob went to Richmond Hill, we were able to enjoy his company in our home & at the Church. We treasure the memory of driving Fr. Gerry Scott (R.I.P) to Richmond Hill to visit with Fr. Bob. It was a joy to listen to them banter on days past & present. God Bless you and may His face shine upon you.

We had the pleasure of getting to know Rev.Father Reddy when we moved to Holy Family Parish from London Ont.. From 1996 up to when Father Bob moved to Richmond Hill, we were able to keep in touch and continue to enjoy his company in our home and at the his Parish. The memory of driving Father Gerry Scott (R.I.P) up to Richmond Hill to meet with Father Bob for a spot of dinner; it was a joy to listen to them banter together on days past and present. Our hearts are sore now but we know by God's grace we will meet again.
