JUSTIN TRUDEAU REVOKES MARTIAL LAW

Yesterday at 4:00 P.M., February 23, 2022, Justin Trudeau revoked The Emergencies Act, essentially martial law. An hour later, Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, an alleged Conservative, revoked his emergency orders. Canada is deeply divided, at least if you monitor Twitter with many Canadians allegedly supporting the action. Most Canadians, however, are not on Twitter.

The Emergencies Act was not necessary. Every legal vehicle to remove the protest, or at least the physical aspects of it, trucks, jumpy castles and all that, existed. Municipal By-laws do not allow bonfires on public roads or bouncy castles, at least not without a permit. These same laws regulate noise and loitering. The Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code of Canada all contain therein the tools necessary to deal with the situation. People have a right to protest in any way, peacefully. Trucks do not. How did the City of Ottawa even let this happen; did they not know it was coming? Did then not see the videos of tens of thousands of Canadians on bridges, embankments and roadsides cheering on the convoys? Where were the jersey barriers preventing right turns? Where was the "No turns" signs by temporary by-law fiat to prevent the trucks from turning to the downtown, the closure of ramps on the highways, or simply the direction, you can park in these lots and walk in to parliament. The City of Ottawa itself failed. That being said, I was in full support of this civil disobedience to the point of being doxed on Google Maps and sexually vulgar emails from the hacker.  The Emergencies Act was not necessary. It was a recognition of failure.

Not once did Justin Trudeau, notwithstanding the alleged case of COVID, reach out to speak with our fellow Canadians. Oh, he could not be seen to be negotiating. Yet, he negotiated with those of our Indigenous Canadian brothers who blockaded a rail line. Did you know that after a decade there are still road blockades in Caledonia, Ontario. No attention is paid to this.

Justin could not be seen to speak to those he demonized as racists, misogynists' with unacceptable views who need not be tolerated. He divided Canadians as never before.

By the time the Canadian despot convened Parliament on Monday night to vote on the invocation, the alleged crisis was over. He invoked the Act had determined it would be a confidence vote, thus, he whipped his own caucus and the once labour-party and now hard core Marxist New Democrat Party, broke and afraid of an election under its WEF member, Jagmeet Singh to fall into line. The Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois voted against it.

Forty-eight hours later, he rose in Parliament to revoke it. Why? Was it because it was no longer necessary? It was not necessary two days earlier.

On one hand, Canadians were praised around the world for rising up, on the other, Justin Trudeau and Canada were embarrassed by his despotic actions. Canadians were publicly doxed even by the publicly-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Was the hacker paid by CSIS? The RCMP? How did the CBC obtain the information? Why did it take Google 24 hours to take down my home address? Why is Twitter still allowing @watchertoronto to name people and their employers? What was the effect of runs on the banks?

Trudeau heard loud and clear from the banks. Global investors made him well aware. The global masters were outraged that his financial actions exposed what they could do in the long-term. The internal polling was devastating. The Senate of Canada was about to defeat it.

The end of this story is not written. What is to come is the entire collapse of a political and bureaucratic class running now in fear from mandates. Not for our freedom but from the inside information that the injections are killing people, everywhere.

May God keep us truly safe from these despots and under the mantle of Our Lady.

"They broke my body a little bit, but not my spirit" Csaba Vizi is a Canadian hero!

Csaba Vizi, a Romanian immigrant was one in the trucker protest. Vizi is the man seen in a video taken from a hotel above where police are seen kneeing a man. In this interview with Tucker Carlson, you will see and hear Vizi state that he was surrendering. He emerged from his truck, knelt down and put his hands behind his head. For this, he was beaten.

Canada has fallen to a despot and a corrupt socialist opposition party, the once principled labour party known as the New Democrat Party under its leader, Jagmeet Singh, went along with it because the Prime Minister considered the passing of the implementation of the Emergencies Act as a confidence motion and the party has no money to afford an election.

Csaba Visi is on the right side of history. Jagmeet Singh is not.

OTTAWA POLICE ON HORSEBACK TRAMPLE TWO CITIZENS - ONE A MOHAWK GRANDMOTHER IN A WALKER! - POLICE LIE IN STATEMENT THAT SHE THREW HER BYCYCLE TO INJURE HORSES!

Ottawa police trampled at least two people under horses. One woman, a Mohawk grandmother stating she was there for her children, grandchildren, love and peace was trampled under her walker. Police claim someone threw a bicycle to injure a horse. This has been a terrible day of stress, sadness and sorrow for my country and shock at the comments of my fellow Canadians that have sold out to the fascist state and the evil monster that heads its government.

Woe Canada #TrudeauTyranny

The events taking place right now in Ottawa is wickedness personified.

Beatings with butt end of a rifle.

Afghanistan War veteran thrown to the ground.

Journalists arrested.

Advise the world!

Our Charter of Rights and Freedoms is as good as toilet paper.

Oh, and Bergoglio and his demonic worship of a pagan Amazonian demon did this. Be at peace. God permits evil for good to come out of it.

Remi De Roo is dead. Now he knows the terrible truth!

Remi De Roo is dead.

With all the news of the political crisis in Canada, his death was missed by this writer. De Roo was Bishop of Victoria, British Columbia for decades and a so-called "Father" of Vatican II, the youngest in attendance. I have not the time nor patience to go through the saga of this man's work.

He now knows the terrible truths. May God have mercy upon him. May His justice be done.

What the Truckers Do and Do Not Want

Justin Trudeau is a liar. The Canadian legacy media are liars. The idea that this is an insurrection is a lie, a narrative that never had any basis in fact.

Canada is under Martial Law

Make no mistake, this is what Justin Trudeau has done by invoking the Emergencies Act. Implemented in 1985, it has never been used, not even after 9-11. It replaced the infamous War Measures Act used three times, both world wars and the Quebec FLQ terrorist actions which involved bombings, kidnappings and murder, invoked by his father, Pierre. Arguably justified given the circumstances at the time and the inability of the Quebec provincial government to act.

The declaration is a violation of the very law itself. It is for when all else fails when no law exists to deal with the crisis. Laws exist at the municipal and provincial levels to clear the protest in front of Parliament. I support it, but being objective, people have the right to protest, not trucks. Noise by-laws exist at the municipal level, regulations on outdoor fires, blocking roads. For various reasons, the City of Ottawa and its police chose not to enforce existing laws. Why? Why did they not block the trucks from neighbourhoods and parliament by redirecting them through road closures as happened in Toronto last weekend? Did they not know they were coming? Everyone else did. We stood on bridges, embankments and roadsides cheering them on. It was all over, everywhere, yet, Ottawa was caught off guard. The situation at the Ambassador Bridge was another matter, the bridge should never have bene blocked. That being said, it was cleared peacefully and with 46 arrests. The Court Order - Injunction, was sought by citizens of Windsor and the Auto Parts Manufacturers Association of Canada. It was clear, no blocking of roads and bridges, arrests would follow and the arrested would be released without charges if they pledged in writing to obey the Order, protest was reserved to public space not blocking the roads. The judge was reasonable in balancing the right to protest against the public good - free speech does not enable one to yell "fire," when there is not a fire, in a crowded theatre.

Justin Trudeau has not proven that this declaration is remotely necessary. He refused to even speak to those he declared as racists, misogynists and unacceptable.

He is a despot and will be judged harshly by history as all of them are.

Nine years ago

Nine years ago this very hour I was dressing for work when the announcement came across the radio. It was devastating. I truly thought he was dying or had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and would be gone within the year. I loved him, I trusted him. He was like the grandfather I never knew. As long as I knew he was there, all would be well, or at least I thought. Since that time it has been a horror for the Church, for individual faithful Catholics. It has only become worse.

When I look at him, I can't help but remember the joy I felt when he was elected.

He is still, my Pope.

Crackdown on Canadian Trucker Freedom Convoy Vaccine Mandates Protests, ...

Edmonton Archbishop William Smith declares Canada's vaccine mandates as "Divine directives!"

The distorted minds of Canadian politicians and worse, the collective group of Canadian bishops continues. Late yesterday and one post below, we reported that the Bishops of Quebec have determined that they will not permit people into Mass without a vaccine passport. They are refusing to stand up to the diktats of the fascist Premier Legault. Now, we have the homily from Edmonton's Archbishop Richard Smith (rumoured to be on the terna for Toronto along with at least, Calgary bishop William McGrattan ) wherein he actually puts forward the proposition that the commands of the Prime Minister and the Premiers are "divine directives."

Smith's homily can be found at this link. Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time – Year C - caedm

Hell's gates are opened wide awaiting Quebec's Bishops as they bar the unvaccinated faithful from the Holy Mass

As if our dear Canada is not battered enough and the faithful left to the devices of tyrants in government the Bishops of Quebec have barred the faithful from Mass by acquiescing to the despotic Premier, Francis Legault. There is little one can write about this, the bishops have written their own condemnation. I do not pray for God's mercy upon them, I pray for His justice!

Letter from the bishops to the Catholics of Quebec (evequescatholiques-quebec.translate.goog)

Along with all believers, we, Catholic Bishops of Quebec, rejoice in the reopening of places of worship on February 7, 2022. We see in this a recognition, by public authorities, of the importance of religious gatherings and activities for a large number of citizens. It will thus be possible for the communities to gradually resume their activities and thus provide support and comfort to a large number of people.

The resumption of our activities is an opportunity to recall the duty of the State to respect, promote and protect religious freedom. The Declaration on Religious Freedom made during the Second Vatican Council is very clear on this subject and we endorse this conviction:

It is an essential duty for all civil power to protect and promote the inviolable rights of man. The civil power must therefore, by just laws and other appropriate means, effectively assume the protection of the religious freedom of all citizens and ensure favorable conditions for the development of religious life so that citizens are able to exercise their rights and to fulfill their religious duties, and that society itself may enjoy the goods of justice and peace flowing from the fidelity of men to God and his holy will. [1]

The reopening of our churches is the result of the many efforts of the members of the Table interreligious de concertation du Québec, with whom we are in solidarity and with whom we have coordinated our efforts to insistently ask the government to reopen places of worship as soon as possible. . We have also insisted that people attending our assemblies be exempted from the requirement of the vaccination passport, aware of the negative effects of its imposition on our communities.

We recognize that many believers believe that this requirement constitutes intolerable discrimination that deprives unvaccinated people of their right to religious freedom. This exclusion appears to them to be incompatible with the very essence of a welcoming community of believers, compassionate and open to diversity, with which we fully agree.

However, in this exceptional time of pandemic, Catholics have a duty to join their efforts with those of all members of society to ensure the safety and health of all. And this, even if certain measures affect for a time the exercise of certain freedoms.

The Declaration on Religious Freedom [2] challenges us on this subject. At number 2 of this text, we can read:

This Vatican Council declares that the human person has the right to religious freedom. This freedom consists in the fact that all men must be exempt from all constraint on the part of individuals as well as of social groups and of any human power whatsoever, so that in religious matters no one is forced to act against his conscience nor prevented from acting, within just limits, according to his conscience, in private or in public, alone or in association with others.

The declaration therefore recognizes that "just limits" can be imposed on religious freedom in certain circumstances. Moreover, the Council Fathers also consider it necessary to underline in number 7 of the same declaration that this freedom is not absolute: it comes with a responsibility with regard to the common good.

In the use of all freedom must be observed the moral principle of personal and social responsibility: the moral law obliges every man and social group to take into account, in the exercise of their rights, the rights of others, their duties towards others and for the common good of all. With regard to all, we must act with justice and humanity. [3]

Thus, for members of the Catholic community, the expression of religious freedom is not centered solely on individual rights and needs, but also on concern for the health of others. This freedom may exceptionally be subject to temporary restrictions for the common good.

The same is true for freedom of conscience. Indeed, conscience does not operate in a vacuum: it is formed in dialogue with different sources of moral wisdom and its decisions must be oriented towards others, in solidarity with others. As Pope Francis reminded us in an address to members of the Catholic media on January 28, 2022, “  we do not come out of a crisis alone  ” [4] . To do this, we must work together, together for others, especially those who are in need, and together in the service of the truth, which means seeking that which promotes communion and the good of all.

As humanity faces the risks posed by the pandemic to our societies, Catholics recognize that the government not only has the right, but above all the duty to intervene to ensure the health and safety of all. It is the duty of the State, even if the decisions taken are imperfect and questionable, made at the cost of scientific and political compromises.

While exercising healthy vigilance as well as our democratic duty to discuss and question certain decisions, we are challenged by the apostle Paul, who reminds us to never stop supporting our rulers with our prayers:

I encourage, above all, to make requests, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving for all men, for heads of state and all those who exercise authority, so that we can lead our lives in peace and quiet, in all godliness and dignity. (First Epistle to Timothy 2,1-2)

This is why it seems reasonable to us, in the circumstances, to agree to certain compromises to contribute to the safety and health of all. For a time, we accept that the vaccination passport is required to access a place of worship, even if this measure upsets us deeply. However, we remain in contact with government authorities to remind them that this requirement goes against our beliefs and to ensure that it will be lifted as soon as it is safe to do so.

That said, we would like to affirm the concern of all the pastors of our Church to seek by all means to accompany and offer support to all those who for a time will not have access to our churches. Whether through individual meetings, through the broadcasting of celebrations, through outdoor celebrations or by any other safe means, we want all baptized persons to be welcomed and accompanied.

In these exceptionally difficult times for everyone, we join our prayer to that of Pope Francis: "  I ask God, concludes the Holy Father, that each of us may bring his little grain of sand, his little gesture of love .  [5] In no way do the constraints we encounter prevent us from loving our neighbour, from helping him, from offering him our friendship.

May the Peace of the Lord and his grace be with you!

Ottawa Mayor and Chief of Police declare "unlawful" a peaceful assemby and declare a State of Emergency.

My friends, The Mayor of Ottawa has announced a "State of Emergency" in Ottawa. Under legal statutes, this allows him to take draconian actions. Yesterday, I attended the Toronto protest with my wife. It was peaceful, enthusiastic and patriotic. The media in Canada is lying about racists and so on. We met a retired lawyer outside of police headquarters as we stopped to admire the horses. He indicated that he regretted his jab and only took it due to travel needs. He indicated that it was the actions of the police chief as shown below that made him decide to come out to the protest. That is how this is one. One person at a time saying, "this far and not further."
I fear that this will be a dark week for Canada. I expect that the tyrant Trudeau and those surrounding him will create a false flag and bring violence to the scene. In fact, I have no doubt.

Sadly, many Canadians will support draconian action.

We must all rise up around the world. What you will see this week will shock you. Canada is in gave crisis.

God, keep our land glorious and free.

We must all withstand and defy Bergoglio on Traditionis Custodes and all that flows from it!

"The highest power on earth is attacking the greatest good on earth."

The actions of Bergoglio from the very beginning of his "pontificate" have been disturbing to the souls and minds of faithful Catholics. There is so much to list but nothing is worse than his attempt to eliminate the traditional liturgy of the Church. Bergoglio can only be perfectly possessed. No holy pope would ever do this. He is a liar when he speaks of peripheries and reaches out. He cares not of me or my family in this regard. If he did, he would not have done this.

The pain that this man has caused to us at a time in which the world has gone mad can only be described as demonic.

Congratulations and thank you. Do you see what you’ve done? You’ve brought Canadians together. Your fascist actions are ending because we have had enough. I’d had enough by June 2020. Your stinking lockdowns don’t work. Your so-called, vaccines, don’t work. It is clear to this Canadian that you have all sold out and have been bought off.

You are all wicked. Yes, no other word describes you, wicked. Evil monsters, fascists. Stinking cowards. I wonder how many of you politicians are perverts or drug pushers or malfeasants since you must be blackmailed as nobody can be this stupid. As for you medical tyrants, well, we all know that doctors in public health were at the bottom of their class.

To all you members of parliament and the legislature that stood by, well, good luck to you. You’re as guilty and as stupid as the rest of these clowns.

I am looking forward to the continued rising of Canadians and the end of your professional and political careers.

Why did Bergoglio meet with the head of Pfizer - twice?

Edward Pentin reports that Bergoglio of Rome met on two separate occasions with Albert Bourla, Chief Executive Officer of Pfizer Corporation. Unless he was discussing the faith with Bourla and seeking his conversion what business to the Vicar of Christ on Earth, (not that he really is, by his own declaration) why was he meeting with him? What did Bourla seek from Bergoglio? It is quite obvious by the public declarations in favour of the so-called, "vaccines" and the treatment of Vatican City staff by Bergoglio, Parolin and the rest of these vile clericalists.

The good news? There are white hats in the Vatican and Pentin knows them.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò on his return to the Traditonal Latin Mass

Dilecta Mea — About the Holy Apostolic Mass

You who permit yourselves to prohibit the Holy Apostolic Mass, have you ever celebrated it? You who from the height of your liturgical cathedrae are piqued about the “old Mass,” have you ever meditated on its prayers, its rites, and its ancient and sacred gestures? I have asked myself this many times in the past few years: because I myself, even though I knew this Mass since I was very young; even though I had learned to serve it and respond to the celebrant when I was so little that I was still wearing boys’ knickers, I had almost forgotten it and lost it. Introibo ad altare Dei. Kneeling in winter on the ice-cold steps of the altar, before going to school. Sweating on hot summer days under my altar boy’s vestments. I had forgotten that Mass, even though it was the Mass of my ordination as a priest on 24 March 1968: an era in which one could already perceive the signs of the revolution that shortly thereafter would deprive the Church of her most precious treasure, imposing a counterfeit ritual in its place.

Well, that Mass that the conciliar reform cancelled and prohibited in my first years of Priesthood remained as a distant memory, like the smile of a distant loved one, the gaze of a missing relative, the sound of a Sunday with its bells, its friendly voices. But it was something that had to do with nostalgia, youth, the enthusiasm of an era in which ecclesiastical commitments were still to come, in which everyone wanted to believe that the world could recover from the aftermath of the Second World War and the threat of Communism with a renewed spiritual momentum. We wanted to think that economic well-being could somehow be accompanied by a moral and religious rebirth of our nation [Italy]. Despite the revolution of 1968, the occupations, terrorism, the Red Brigades, and the crisis of the Middle East. Thus, amidst the thousand ecclesiastical and diplomatic commitments, the memory of something had crystallized in my memory that in fact remained unresolved, which had been “momentarily” set aside for decades. Something that patiently waited, with the indulgence that only God uses toward us.

My decision to denounce the scandals of American Prelates and the Roman Curia was the occasion that led me back to consider, under another light, not only my role as Archbishop and as Apostolic Nuncio, but also the soul of that Priesthood which service first in the Vatican and lastly in the United States had in some way left incomplete: more for my being a priest than for the Ministry. And what up until then I had not yet understood became clear to me due to an apparently unexpected circumstance, when my personal safety seemed to be in danger and I found myself, against my will, having to live almost in hiding, far from the palaces of the Curia. It was then that that blessed segregation, which today I consider as a sort of monastic choice, led me to rediscover the Holy Tridentine Mass. I recall very well the day when, instead of the chasuble, I put on the traditional vestments with the Ambrosian cappino and the maniple. I recall the fear that I felt in pronouncing, after almost fifty years, those prayers of the Missal that re-emerged from my mouth as if I had just recited them shortly before. Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus, in the place of the Psalm Judica me, Deus of the Roman Rite. Munda cor meum ac labia mea. These words were no longer the words of the altar boy or the young seminarian, but the words of the celebrant, of I who once again, I would dare say for the first time, celebrated before the Most Holy Trinity. Because while it is true that the Priest is a person who lives essentially for others – for God and for his neighbor – it is equally true that if he does not have the awareness of his own identity and has not cultivated his own holiness, his apostolate is sterile like the clanging cymbal.

I know well that these reflections can leave those who have never had the grace of celebrating the Mass of all time unmoved, or even arouse condescension. But the same thing happens, I imagine, for those who have never fallen in love and who do not understand the enthusiasm and the chaste transport of the beloved towards his beloved, or for those who do not know the joy of getting lost in her eyes. The dull Roman liturgist, the Prelate with his tailored clerical suit and his pectoral cross in his pocket, the consultor of the Roman Congregation with the latest copy of Concilium or Civiltà Cattolica in plain sight, looks at the Mass of Saint Pius V with the eyes of an entomologist (the science that studies insects), scrutinizing that pericope just as a naturalist observes the veins of a leaf or the wings of a butterfly. Indeed, I sometimes wonder if they don’t do it with the asepticity of the pathologist who cuts open a living body with a scalpel. But if a priest with a minimum of interior life approaches the ancient Mass, regardless of whether he has ever known it before or is discovering it for the first time, he is deeply moved by the composed majesty of the rite, as if he has stepped out of time and entered the eternity of God.

What I would like to make my brothers in the Episcopate and the Priesthood understand is that that Mass is intrinsically divine, because one perceives the sacred in a visceral way: one is literally taken up into heaven, into the presence of the Most Holy Trinity and the celestial Court, far from the clamor of the world. It is a love song, in which the repetition of the signs, the reverences, and the sacred words is not in any way useless, just as a mother never tires of kissing her son, or a bride never tires of saying, “I love you” to her husband. Everything is forgotten there, because all that is said and sung in it is eternal, all the gestures that are performed there are perennial, outside of history, yet immersed in a continuum that unites the Cenacle, Calvary, and the altar on which the Mass is celebrated. The celebrant does not address the assembly, with the concern of being understandable or being nice or appearing to be up-to-date; rather, he addresses God: and before God there is only the sense of infinite gratitude for the privilege of being able to carry with him the prayers of the Christian people, the joys and sorrows of so many souls, the sins and shortcomings of those who implore forgiveness and mercy, gratitude for graces received, and suffrages for our dear departed. One is alone, and at the same time one feels intimately united with an endless host of souls that crosses time and space.

When I celebrate the apostolic Mass, I think of how on that same altar, consecrated by the relics of the Martyrs, so many Saints and thousands of priests, using the same words that I say, repeating the very same gestures, making the same bows and the same genuflections, wearing the same vestments. But above all, receiving Holy Communion with the same Body and Blood of Our Lord, to whom we have all been assimilated in the offering of the Holy Sacrifice. When I celebrate the Mass of all time, I realize in the most sublime and complete way the true significance of what doctrine teaches us. Acting in persona Christi is not a mechanical repetition of a formula, but the awareness that my mouth utters the same words that the Savior pronounced over the bread and wine in the Cenacle; that as I elevate the Host and Chalice to the Father, I repeat the immolation that Christ made of Himself on the Cross; that in receiving Holy Communion I consume the sacrificial Victim and feed on God Himself, and I am not participating in a party. And the entire Church is with me: the Church Triumphant which deigns to unite itself to my imploring prayer, the Church Suffering that awaits it in order to shorten souls’ stay in Purgatory, and the Church Militant that strengthens herself in the daily spiritual battle. But if, as we profess with faith, our mouth is really Christ’s mouth, if our words in the Consecration are really those of Christ, if the hands with which we touch the Sacred Host and the Chalice are Christ’s hands, what respect ought we to have for our body, keeping it pure and uncontaminated? What better incentive is there to remain in the Grace of God? Mundamini, qui fertis vasa Domini. And with the words of the Missal: Aufer a nobis, quæsumus, Domine, iniquitates nostras: ut ad sancta sanctorum puris mereamur mentibus introire.

The theologian will tell me that this is common doctrine, and that the Mass is exactly that, regardless of the rite, I do not deny it, rationally. But while the celebration of the Tridentine Mass is a constant reminder of an uninterrupted continuity of the work of the Redemption studded with Saints and Blesseds, the same thing does not happen, it seems to me, with the reformed rite. If I look at the table versus populum, I see there the Lutheran altar or the Protestant table; if I read the words of the Institution of the Last Supper in the form of narration, I hear the modifications of Cranmer’s Common Book of Prayer, and the service of Calvin; if I glance through the reformed calendar, I find that the same saints who cancelled the heretics of the Pseudo-reform have been removed. And the same is true for the songs, which would horrify an English or German Catholic: hearing the hymns of those who martyred our priests and trampled the Blessed Sacrament in contempt for “papist superstition” sung under the vaults of a church ought to make us understand the abyss that exists between the Catholic Mass and its conciliar counterfeit. To say nothing of the language: the first ones to abolish Latin were the heretics, in the name of giving the people a greater comprehension of the rites; a people whom they deceived, contesting revealed Truth and propagating error. Everything is profane in the Novus Ordo. Everything is momentary, everything accidental, everything contingent, variable, and changeable. There is nothing of the eternal, because eternity is immutable, just as the Faith is immutable. Just as God is immutable.

There is another aspect of the traditional Holy Mass that I would like to emphasize, and that unites us to the Saints and Martyrs of the past. Since the times of the catacombs up until the most recent persecutions, wherever a priest celebrates the Holy Sacrifice, even in an attic or a cellar, in the woods or in a barn, or even in a van, he is mystically in communion with that host of heroic witnesses of the Faith, and the gaze of the Most Holy Trinity rests on that improvised altar; before it all the angelic hosts genuflect adoringly; all of the souls in purgatory gaze toward it. In this too, especially in this, each of us understands how the Tradition creates an indissoluble link between the centuries, not only in the jealous custody of that treasure, but also in facing the trials that it entails, even unto death. In the presence of this thought, the arrogance of the present tyrant, with his insane decrees, ought to strengthen us in fidelity to Christ and make us feel that we are an integral part of the Church of all times, because we cannot win the palm of victory if we are not ready to fight the bonum certamen.

I would like my confreres to dare to do the unthinkable: I would like them to approach the Holy Tridentine Mass not so as to be pleased with the lace of an alb or with the embroidery of a chasuble, or because of a mere rational conviction about its canonical legitimacy or about the fact that it has never been abolished; but rather with the reverential fear with which Moses approached the burning bush: knowing that each one of us, upon coming down from the altar after the Last Gospel, is in some way interiorly transfigured because there he has encountered the Holy of Holies. It is only there, on that mystical Sinai, that we can understand the very essence of our Priesthood, which is the giving of Oneself to God, above all; an oblation of all of himself together with Christ the Victim, for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls; a spiritual sacrifice which draws strength and vigor from the Mass; self-renunciation in order to make way for the High Priest; a sign of true humility, in the annihilation of one’s own will and abandonment to the will of the Father, following the Lord’s example; a gesture of authentic “communion” with the Saints, in the sharing of the same profession of faith and the same rite. And I would like not only those who have celebrated the Novus Ordo for decades to have this “experience,” but above all the young priests and those who carry out their ministry in the front line: the Mass of Saint Pius V is for indomitable spirits, for generous and heroic souls, for hearts burning with Charity for God and one’s neighbor.

I know well that the life of the priests today is made up of a thousand trials, of stress, of the feeling of being alone in fighting against the world, in the disinterest and ostracism of Superiors, of a slow wear and tear that distracts from recollection, from the interior life, and from spiritual growth. And I know very well that this feeling of being under siege, of finding oneself as a sailor who is alone and has to pilot a ship through a storm, is not the prerogative of traditionalists or progressives, but is the common destiny of all those who have offered their lives to the Lord and to the Church, each with their own miseries, with economic problems, misunderstandings with the Bishop, criticisms from their confreres, as well as the requests of the faithful. And also those hours of solitude, in which the presence of God and the companionship of the Virgin Mary seem to vanish, just as in the dark night of Saint John of the Cross. Quare me repulisti? Et quare tristis incedo, dum affligit me inimicus? When the demon winds insidiously between the internet and the television, quærens quem devoret, taking advantage of our weariness by betrayal. In those cases, which we all face just as Our Lord did in Gethsemane, it is our Priesthood that Satan wants to strike, presenting himself persuasively like Salomé before Herod, asking us for the gift of the Baptist’s head. Ab homine iniquo, et doloso erue me. In the trial, we are all the same: because the victory that the Enemy wants to win is not only over the poor souls of the Baptized, but over Christ the Priest, whose Anointing we carry.

For this reason, today more than ever, the Holy Tridentine Mass is the sole anchor of salvation of the Catholic Priesthood, because in it the priest is reborn, each day, in that privileged time of intimate union with the Blessed Trinity, and from it he draws indispensable graces so as not to fall into sin, to progress along the way of holiness, and to rediscover the healthy balance with which to face his Ministry. Anyone who believes that all this can be liquidated as a mere ceremonial or aesthetic question has not understood anything about his own priestly Vocation. Because the Holy Mass “of all time” – and it truly is this, just as it has always been opposed by the Adversary – is not an obliging lover who offers herself to anyone, but rather a jealous and chaste Bride, as jealous as the Lord is.

Do you want to please God or the one who keeps you away from Him? The question, at its root, is always this: the choice between the gentle yoke of Christ and the Adversary’s chains of slavery. The response will appear clear and limpid to you in the moment in which you too, marveling at this immense treasure that has been kept hidden from you, discover what it means to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice not as pathetic “presiders of the assembly,” but rather as “ministers of Christ and dispensers of the Mysteries of God” (1 Cor 4:1).

Pick up the Missal, ask for help from a priest friend, and ascend the Mountain of the Transfiguration: Emitte lucem tuam et veritatem tuam: ipsa me deduxerunt, et adduxerunt in montem sanctum tuum, et in tabernacula tua. Like Peter, James, and John, you will exclaim: Domine, bonum est nos hic esse – “Lord, it is good that we are here” (Mt 17:4). Or, with the words of the Psalmist that the celebrant repeats at the Offertory: Domine, dilexi decorem domus tuæ, et locum habitationis gloriæ tuæ.

Once you have discovered it, no one will be able to take away from you that through which the Lord no longer calls you servants, but friends (Jn 15:15). No one will ever be able to convince you to renounce it, forcing you to be content with its adulteration that was brought to birth by rebellious minds. Eratis enim aliquando tenebræ: nunc enim lux in Domino. Ut filii lucis ambulate. “For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk then as children of the light” (Eph 5:8). Propter quod dicit: Surge qui dormis, et exsurge a mortuis, et illuminabit te Christus. “Wherefore he says: Awake, O sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ shall enlighten you” (Eph 5:14).

From Barona at Toronto Catholic Witness:

"The man will leave behind a local Church decimated. The once Catholic school system has been completely secularists to the point of being paganized. He has remained silent on the violently aggressive imposition of gender ideology on children in schools. He has also overseen the local Church becoming an appendage of the State; even going so far as to cede control of the sacred Liturgy to the State. He has also conceded that public worship of God is determined by the State. He has not only betrayed Catholics but ALL men and women with his silence, even support of State violations of civil liberties as interpreted according to Natural Law. Cowardice and timidity have led to a sad, tragic legacy. The one shining light is that we can remind ourselves not to put our “trust in princes”, but in Our Lord Jesus Christ alone."
