“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us.” ― St. Antony the Great
Too many in the West are unprepared for Islam. True there are many who are completely "woke" and totally get it, but for too many, when an attack happens, as long as there is the slightest hint of the hand extended in friendship, the West will take it and forgive and forget. Forgetting is the problem. It's their DNA, it's our DNA.
Let's hope this awful situation turns around soon. To use these deaths to perpetrate anti-Catholic feeling is ... just an asinine move from the Sri Lankan government.
The Muslim gesture isn't a bad one. They're not all at fault for what their co-religionists do. Just like traddies can't agree on the colour of s**t, Muzzies have their divisions and interpretations too.
"That is hilarious. Holy Mass in a mosque. Disgusting."
I don't know if this is the right response to what seems a sincere expression of goodwill on their part.
Whether this is merely empty virtue signalling, or gratitude for similar gestures in the aftermath of the Christchurch shooting, or an emulation of Muhammad who allowed a delegation of Syrians/Byzantines to use his mosque for their Divine Liturgy - who can say?
In Toronto where I live, the only public vigil I know of for the victims of the Sri Lanka bombing was organized by a local mosque. This is touching compared to the mute indifference of the secular press and general public...

They are better off without the Novus Ordo.
Not true.
It is all they know.
It is a Mass.
The Holy Sacrament is confected.
The priests are valid.
Period!

Only one church will have Mass tomorrow in the Archdiocese of Colombo, the SSPX chapel in Negombo.
A sign for future times?
Vox, for the same reason I cannot deny it is a valid Mass, you also cannot declare it is a valid Mass.
Well, it's certainly a better gesture than anything Bergolio's done.
Hah blooming hah!
How can excommunicated masons effect authoritative, valid changes to liturgy and Sacraments?

That's nice! These are the "good muslims". How can you tell? They left their backpacks at home.

You mean "Novus Ordo man centered worship service" in a mosque. There will be no Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in a mosque.
