1. 'Tis good, Lord, to be here,
Thy glory fills the night;
Thy face and garments, like the sun,
Shine with unborrowed light.
2. 'Tis good, Lord, to be here,
Thy beauty to behold
Where Moses and Elijah stand,
Thy messengers of old.
3. Fulfiller of the past,
Promise of things to be,
We hail Thy body glorified
And our redemption see.
4. Before we taste of death,
We see Thy kingdom come;
We fain would hold the vision bright
And make this hill our home.
5. 'Tis good, Lord, to be here.
Yet we may not remain;
But since Thou bidst us leave the mount,
Come with us to the plain.

This is the first time I hear this great hymn and its lyric made my tears run down on my cheek and I couldn't stop the flow. I don't know why....but thanks Vox for sharing this sacred hymn. I love it!
Anita, I am glad you enjoyed it. It is one of my favourites and sang it yesterday as the Recessional hymn after Mass.
Vox,
Thank you for posting the icon of the Transfiguration - it's one of my favorite feasts. We only celebrate it on August 6th - 40 days before the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross:
