“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us.” ― St. Antony the Great
The darkness is still there and Pope Benedict made his contribution.

I will never forget the moment when I found out Pope Benedict was resigning. It literally felt like I had just been punched in the stomach. I am sorry to say that nightmare has only worsened.
I cried when I heard the news that he was going to resign. I suppose the wolves got to him (cf. Pope Benedict XVI first address to the faithful on the loggia)
I still don't understand the rationale behind the resignation of the Emeritus Pope Benedict 16. So many others have died "in harness", not citing any other reason than a need to serve to the end. His action was, alas, beyond the comprehension of many of us, I believe. Kyrie Eleison.
I agree with many thoughts here, though I chose to write a much longer thought on this fateful event in my blog and offered some food for thought regarding this whole event.
What is amazing is the miracle that occurs on Maundy Thursday. Prelates whose knees simply will not bend any other day of the year, at that Mass find themselves crawling on the floor and bending in contortions to wash and kiss the feet of all and sundry. Must be a special grace that descends like magic on these elderly priests only on that day!

Yes. A day of great darkness for the Church. We now know one thing absolutely definitively: Pope Benedict did not resign for health reasons.

Ditto.

Was it only a coincidence that Pope Benedict resigned on the same date as the first apparition of Lourdes- February 11, 1858?

As I posted below - the wolves got to him.
I miss him dearly.
I miss you Pope Benedict XVI!

Kyrie Eleison.
Let us look to one possible source of promise: if he could resign so can his successor!

The resignation is a fake. Benedict XVI is still pope. Bergoglio is an antipope as should be obvious by his actions.
