“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us.” ― St. Antony the Great
York Region (for my American readers, these were formerly known as Counties) is now under the lockdown diktat of Ontario Politburo General-secretary Douglas Ford effective Monday at 12:00 A.M. York joins Toronto and Peel Region in the imposed lockdown. As with many places in the United States of America, Walmart and Costco remain open but the Main Street dress shop or shoe store remain closed. Home Depot can sell a stove or washer but Bad Boy and The Hudson's Bay Company, cannot. It is illogical. What is also illogical is that the population centres are the three cities in the south Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Markham as well Newmarket and Aurora with the rest of York being bucolic countryside, rural farms and villages. Why wipe out what is left of Schomberg (including the Latin Mass) or the hamlet of Snowball?
To his credit, last evening Cardinal Thomas Collins issued a letter wherein he states:
"It is increasingly frustrating for all of us to see certain
businesses open while others remain closed and that some, including places of worship, appear to be
severely restricted with little evidence to suggest they are a cause of transmission. Earlier this week,
I communicated these concerns directly to Premier Ford."
At the same time, His Eminence again goes beyond Ford's inane reduction of church capacity to ten by eliminating public worship in these regions. The Cardinal reiterates that over 13,000 Canadians have died of SARS-CoV-2 which originated in Wuhan, China. The Cardinal states that he recognizes the "significant spiritual suffering that these restrictions have placed both upon our clergy and the faithful that look to us for guidance and direction." He continues that he hopes we will "soon be able fully (sic) to resume public worship." He also states that "we have demonstrated our ability to safely worship together."
Again, this writer reiterates the same as before, there is no reason to close the public celebration of Mass. Abide by the provincial diktat and protest it. It is worth the challenge of limiting the congregation and at the same time, take the province to court.
The Cardinal has again advised that churches remain open for public prayer at the pastor's discretion. Obviously, this is happening, right?
Toronto Catholics, are your churches open?
Are you able to receive the Sacraments privately?
Advise me at voxcantoris@rogers.com if your pastor is not accessible and we will report it directly to the chancery and here.
O God in heaven, FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT, deliver us from the evil Bergoglio, smite him and confound him in his actions.
Flea from this Bergoglio. Nearly eight years now we have endured this man, this mocker of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Mother. Catholics now lulled by his "Year of St. Joseph." Nothing this man does his good. It is a fraud, a charade, a veil so you think he is still Catholic. Never flea the Catholic Church but flea this Bergoglio. The man is a fraud. I now believe that he is an atheist.
The unleashing of God's wrath is upon us and it can no longer be held back. This false Vicar of Christ, this unbelieving atheist monster, Jorge Bergoglio has unleashed the restrainer with his worship of idols. Those complicit bishops and cardinals are easy to find. We know who they are. They have stopped you from going to Mass and they are about to cancel your Christ's Mass.
Was it not bad enough when he permitted the blasphemous lie that the two pregnant idols were Holy Mary and St. Elizabeth or that this satanic image is "Our Lady of the Amazon?" (no such venerated title). He did not denounce these claims. Was it not enough that he blasphemed Our Lady on the Immaculate Conception in 2015? No, it was not enough. For it was on the great Feast of Our Lady that this evil monster was partnering with relations of the Rothchild's and with Sachs and others in this Vatican Council for Inclusive Capitalism which even links to their social media.
How much more proof do we need, and for you, there is no Mass!
O God in heaven, FATHER SONAND HOLYSPIRIT, deliver us from the evil Bergoglio, smite him and confound him in his actions. Send us a holy shepherd who will fight and lead your people.
The "Progressive" Conservative government of Manitoba has just been dealt a blow, backing down after threats of a lawsuit, now permitting a drive-in church with people in their cars. Ridiculous that one must be in a car but the point is made.
Cardinal Collins, bullies back down. You know that. I did you a favour and did it to Rosica, and what thanks did I get?
"WISE MEN WEAR MASKS! So do good shepherds! This year's
Christmas Crib at the Chancery has a COVID-19 pandemic addition. The Magi and
the shepherds, who are not part of the Holy Family "bubble" are
wearing masks! Since they cannot follow the social distancing protocol, the
masks are mandatory! Thanks to the Christmas decorators for reminding us of our
responsibility to care for one another especially during these dangerous times!" Latest Heart to Heart from Bishop Crosby, OMI - Diocese of Hamilton (hamiltondiocese.com)
Dangerous times? I'd like to find a good shepherd with a mask or without. There is only one, The, Good Shepherd. The rest of these immuno-compromised, episcopal-effetes are "hirelings" at best and "wolves in sheep's clothing" at worst.
This is the same Douglas Crosbie, OMI, who as Pastor at St. Joseph's Ottawa presided over and encouraged his congregants to harass four priests attempting to found an Oratory of St. Philip Neri at St. Brigid's Parish, now an event centre. I know, I was there. The same bishop that brought along two "co-pastors" whatever that means, plucking them out of Labrador and installing them in two historical Hamilton parishes. "Co-Pastors."
Peter Youngren is an evangelical Christian pastor in Toronto. His worship centre is known as the Toronto Celebration Church. If you view Youngren's video, he shows what we all know is happening in Catholic churches. Seating is spaced and numbers restricted to 30%, sanitation is all around. There is no evidence that the China Virus has been spreading in churches or synagogues or mosques for that matter.
His argument is based upon equal treatment under Canada's Constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. For my American readers, our Constitutional rights are not absolute as in the United States of America, they can be limited as in the case of hate-crime legislation limiting freedom of expression. There is also a provision for a province to opt-out of a supreme court decision using what is called the "notwithstanding clause" which has been used primarily by the liberal-fascist Province of Quebec, in defending its language laws.
However, the clause that is vital is 15 on the matter of Equality Rights and is relevant as one considers the permit of Costco and Walmart, American corporate conglomerates to open while the mom and pop retailer is closed, it is relevant that The Bay and Bad Boy cannot open to sell a washer or dryer or refrigerator, but Home Depot can. Why these retailers have not launched a Charter challenge is not certain. Pastor Youngren bases his argument on this:
15. (1) Every individual is equal before and under the law
and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without
discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race,
national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical
disability.
This is the very argument that Thomas Cardinal Collins has and has failed to use. He has failed to lead the Assembly of Bishops of Ontario, some of whom have implemented regulations that are even illegal under the Ontario health regulations, such as demanding evidence of a medical mask exemption. He has failed us.
Collins is in a unique position. He could rally all religious leaders. In a grand gesture of ecumenical action and inter-religious dialogue he could have summoned Protestant, Jewish and Muslims to jointly petition Ford for change or the courts for relief. He has failed to do anything but reduce the inane limit of Ford's ten, even in an auditorium the size of Youngren's or St. Clare of Assisi in Woodbridge of the same size, to zero by banning all public worship of God.
It is tempting to write that Collins is a disgrace to the episcopacy but sadly, he is typical of the weak, effeminate and fearful regime that has planted itself in control of the Church in Canada.
Would that we had someone such as Pastor Youngren.
TORONTO — A church in Toronto's northeast corner has filed a
constitutional challenge over Ontario's COVID-19 health regulations.
The Toronto International Celebration Church says in court
documents that it intends to question the constitutional validity of the
Reopening Ontario Act.
The notice of application says that the church is
challenging the provincial health guideline that limits weddings, funerals, and
religious services to 10 or fewer people in regions of Ontario that are under
lockdown like Toronto and Peel Region.
Peter Youngren, the founding pastor of the church, says in
an online video that the church's congregation are not COVID-19 deniers and
that they have carefully adhered to public health restrictions.
"At a time when many are suffering with isolation,
depression, and a sense of despair, the most loving thing a local church can do
is throw its doors wide open while maintaining public health standards,"
said Youngren.
He said that his church's auditorium has capacity for 1,100
people and a maximum attendance of 10 doesn't seem equitable compared to liquor
stores and big-box retailers that are still operating at close to capacity.
"We are deeply concerned about equal treatment under
the law," said Youngren. "We want every business and institution,
including churches, to receive unbiased treatment."
The application argues that lockdown restrictions go against
the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which guarantees freedom of
conscience and religion as well as freedom of peaceful assembly.
Michael Bryant, executive director of the Canadian Civil
Liberties Association and former attorney general of Ontario, said he applauded
the constitutional challenge.
“The limitation on this charter right has the
proportionality of a sledgehammer," said Bryant.
"This constitutional challenge is much needed to engage
the judicial branch in our democracy, so we will seek to be heard by the
Court."
Documents filed to Ontario's Superior Court of Justice note
that before Toronto was moved to a renewed lockdown on Nov. 23 the Toronto
International Celebration Church complied with regional guidelines and operated
at 30 per cent capacity.
The legal documents also say the church ensured congregants
wore masks in its building and kept members of different households at least
two metres apart.
Given the building's regular seating capacity, the documents
say that the stricter regulation "represents a 99 per cent reduction on
the number of worshippers who may attend an in-person service at the
church."
Lawyers for the church told the attorneys general of Ontario
and Canada in a letter that they will be moving immediately to secure a motion
date for an urgent injunction.
Nicko Vavassis, a spokesman for Ontario's Attorney General,
said that the ministry received the notice of application and that it was being
reviewed but any further comment would be inappropriate as the matter is before
the court.

THE
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
COMMEMORATION
OF SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT
DOUBLE,
FIRST CLASS / WHITE
From
all eternity Father, Son, and Holy Spirit chose Mary to be the Mother of the
Word Incarnate. It was unthinkable that she be defiled by sin, in any way or
for the least second of time. Therefore, in the instant of creating Mary's
person, the Trinity made her immaculate. This grace, like every other grace
granted since the fall of Adam, was given her through the merits of Christ. She
was truly saved, redeemed, not from an evil already present, but from an evil
that threatened.
INTROIT
Isa. 61:10
I
will rejoice greatly in the Lord, and my soul shall be joyful in my God, for He
has clothed me with the garment of salvation and covered me with the robe of
justice, like a bride adorned with her jewels.
Ps.
29:2. I will extol You, O Lord, for You have upheld me, and have not let my
enemies rejoice over me.
V.
Glory be . . .
COLLECT
O
God, by foreseen merits of the death of Christ, You shielded Mary from all
stain of sin and preserved the Virgin Mother immaculate at her conception so
that she might be a fitting dwelling place for Your Son. Cleanse us from sin
through her intercession so that we also may come to You untainted by sin.
Through Our Lord . . .
Commemoration
of the 2nd Sunday of Advent
O
Lord, stir up our hearts to accept the message of Your only-begotten Son, so
that, through His coming on earth, we may serve Him always with a pure
intention; who lives and rules with You . . .
EPISTLEProv. 8:22-35
The
Lord possessed me in the beginning of his ways, before he made any thing from
the beginning. I was set up from eternity, and of old, before the earth was
made. The depths were not as yet, and I was already conceived, neither had the
fountains of waters as yet sprung out. The mountains, with their huge bulk, had
not as yet been established: before the hills, I was brought forth: He had not
yet made the earth, nor the rivers, nor the poles of the world.
When
he prepared the heavens, I was present: when with a certain law, and compass,
he enclosed the depths: When he established the sky above, and poised the
fountains of waters: When he compassed the sea with its bounds, and set a law
to the waters that they should not pass their limits: when he balanced the
foundations of the earth; I was with him forming all things: and was delighted
every day, playing before him at all times; Playing in the world: and my
delights were to be with the children of men.
Now,
therefore, ye children, hear me: blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear
instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth
me, and that watcheth daily at my gates, and waiteth at the posts of my doors.
He that shall find me, shall find life, and shall have salvation from the Lord.
GRADUALJudith 13:23; 15:10

But you won't here it because Cardinal Thomas Collins has decreed that there will be:
Please enjoy this setting of the Introit by Heinrich Isaac, 1450-1517.
Feel free to go to the video of the Cardinal's meeting with priests from two weeks ago. You'll want to listen starting around 40 minutes for His Excellency, Mr. MacCarthy reminding the priests to get their technology in tip-top shape and get the robo calls ready for pre-authorised giving.
Premier Douglas Ford, in moving Toronto and Peel Regions into the grey lockdown category and perhaps soon York Region, has arbitrarily reduced church capacity to ten, even if the church holds a thousand. It is ludicrous and idiotic and without a basis in science. As you know, Cardinal Collins then one upped him and reduced it to zero for Mass, only allowing ten in to pray privately.
I wrote a few days ago, "No Mass for you, it's just not worth it." Vox Cantoris: NO MASS FOR YOU! - IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT. Some criticised this writer for thinking so poorly of His Eminence. "Do you really think he believes the Mass is not worth it?"
Well, I will let you be the judge.
In a memorandum to all parishes today issued by the Cardinal through the communications office to all parishes for dissemination which was made available to this writer, I am proved correct.
“Offering public Masses when the civil authorities set a
limit of only 10 people (in practice, that would mean 8 or 9 parishioners)
creates numerous challenges to do so in a fair manner.”
I agree, it does present numerous challenges.
Others that think it presents challenges are the good priests at the Church of the Transfiguration under the jurisdiction of the Priestly Society of St. Pius X. They agree with the Cardinal and Mr. MacCarthy, it does present numerous challenges. They have told me so.
There is, however, one big difference.
To them, it is worth it.
Oh, by the way. You all know the origin of the meme, No Mass for you, right?

Q & A document regarding Archdiocese of Toronto & Covid-19 restrictions
I am attaching
a document that you are welcome to share or utilize as appropriate with answers
to frequently asked questions we have been receiving in recent days. I am
including two versions – both the Microsoft Word and PDF versions in the event
you wish to cut and paste responses for a bulletin or other communication tool.
I hope this is
helpful in providing accurate information regarding the approach of the
archdiocese during this period of pandemic. We are also monitoring
announcements this afternoon from the Province of Ontario and will share
additional information, if necessary.
Thank you for
your tireless efforts during these challenging days.
Are you there my friends? Are you ready to fight? Have you girded your loins for battle? Are you a Miles Christi or are you so numbed by all of this that you have nothing to say, believe that there is nothing you can do? Have you been so deprived of the Holy Mass and Holy Eucharist so long now that you have been weakened, lost hope, given up? Are you giving in to despair? Have you forgotten your rosary? The Divine Office tab above?
Which is it, because I am confused?
I know you're there. This is you, can you find yourself? This is you as of 07:45 A.M. this morning from midnight.
Just over a week ago, this blog broke through 8,000,000 page views and is now up nearly 42,000 since. I know you're there, I know you're reading. I don't write this to praise myself or seek acknowledgement, I am truly wondering what you are doing? You are reading, this I know, but you are not commenting - are you acting? Have you used the email addresses? Have you reached out to your parish priest?
Have you been so beaten up, so betrayed, so disappointed in those who govern you in Church and State that you have just accepted it, you've just given up? I hate to draw the comparison but am I just "a voice crying in the wilderness."
Have you written the Cardinal? Publish it in the combox? Have not but wish to tell him something? Write it in the comments and I will turn it into a post.
Tell us your parish where the priest is not opening the church for private prayer up to a maximum of ten. Where are you not able to have a priest hear your confession, provide you Holy Communion?
Where?
Where is the priest hiding with his video games or whatever else he does when he should be wearing the small of the sheep? We will out them, we will make the Cardinal aware of their negligence.
Trust me, the Cardinal has read these posts, the public letter. I know if for a fact. So have those around him. He will not be moved, at least, not yet. But we can continue to hold him accountable in this life for taking away from you, the Holy Mass and Holy Communion. We will publicly make it clear how you have been abandoned. And yet; not one of you has written.
So, what one must conclude is that it is not happening, that our priests are meeting all your needs, all your spiritual care. Or they are not and you just don't believe that there is anything you can do. Or you just don't care anymore. Is that the case? Is that what you want Cardinal Collins to know - that you don't care, that this is just okay?
Which is it Toronto Catholics? Are you ready to have the Cardinal shutter your churches for Christ's Mass? It is about to happen, you know, you can count on it. York Region is next and you will have no Mass on Christmas. It does not need to be this way, we know what to do.
Can you believe it? Do you get it now? He took Lent, Holy Week, the Triduum, Easter Sunday, Eastertide, Ascension, Pentecost, Corpus Christi. You missed all of it. Now they've taken Advent, you don't think that the Apostle of Christ, the "Pope in Toronto" as he has referred to himself is about to demolish Christmas Mass? He has already declared Mary, Mother of God - Feast of the Circumcision/Octave on January 1, not obligatory. Did you know that?
How much more are you prepared to take?
You have a combox. Out the priest right there, out the parish. You can remain anonymous.
Don't let them grind you down. It is what they want.
Ontario Premier Douglas Ford attends the Cardinal's Dinner in November 2018
General-secretary Ford of the Ontario Politburo and Comrade John Tory, Mayor of Toronto and the unelected medical officers of public health, (who were never the sharpest scalpels in the tray in medical school) have threatened Cardinal Collins. Having watched the entire video made available to this writer, that is obvious. LifeSiteNews have now put their own view on things and confirm this very impression from the Cardinal's own words. I will not defend Douglas Ford, he has dug himself into a hole and refuses to drop the shovel. He is a scared man, afraid of making a mistake, he is afraid that someone might die. I've heard this from those who have been around him. He is being pulled from both sides but cannot see that he is moving too far off the centre line of the road and being pulled into the ditch. However, Cardinal Collins' usual good sense has given way to the same dark side. They are both trying to steer in the middle of the road but they have both failed. They are both steering us into a ditch, economic and spiritual.
It is not hard to understand them both. They obviously don't want to see people die unnecessarily, neither does this writer. I am sure that Mr. Ford cares about Ontarians. The first duty of the government we consent to, we elect, is the protection of the country or province from those who would do us harm, be it foreign invasion or local criminals. The Cardinal no doubt wants to keep people safe, he does not want us die, but that is not his job. His job is to ensure that we die well!
I do not doubt the sincerity of either of them but it is not their job to keep me safe from this virus. It is my job to keep me safe. It is my wife's job. It is your job. Their job is to establish certain regulations and guidelines and to facilitate them to ensure that those suffering are supported and business can carry on and medications are made available and personal protective equipment by stimulating the market to create it or getting the hell out of the way to let it act. The current uptick in parts of Ontario is not the fault of people going to Mass - there were simply too few going and those that were going were following all protocols because that is what we do. We are Catholics, we follow legitimate authority. It is when this authority becomes illegitimate that those in authority must be opposed and that includes the Collins.
The vision of a closed frame shop shuttered next to an open government owned liquor store or a crowd of hundreds at Costco or Walmart and a closed cathedral to ten (as long as Mass is not offered, then it is zero as per Cardinal Collins) is simply absurd. It defies credulity.
Ford has quickly lost his base, his conservative backers are abandoning him and lashing out at him. One must never betray the base.
The Cardinal's last year, presumably, will be to hand off a local church to his successor in full collapse. Just how many Catholics have found something better to do on Sunday, if you'll pardon the expression, or find spiritual needs elsewhere at the SSPX or think one can now always watch Mass at home, or are so angry over the abandonment that they will simply not return. The price to be paid by the Church in Toronto and elsewhere is going to be staggering.
The reality is this. Most deaths here and elsewhere is falling upon those over seventy and in care facilities. In November, sixty-percent of deaths were in long-term care. Sandy Rinaldo in some disputed CTV numbers reported that in the early autumn, only 166 people outside of long-term care died across Canada. For those under sixty the survival rate for those who catch the China Virus is over 99.97%. The vulnerable have been left exposed. Doug Ford's "iron ring around our seniors" is rusty chicken-wire. In order to cover up their own failures and incompetence, they are killing others through depression and suicide, increased alcoholism and drug use and bankruptcies. They know this. both of them do. In the webinar, the Cardinal eludes to this directly and his response is to shut down the one thing the people need - the worship of God and the reception of the Holy Eucharist.
A small storefront church in Langley, British Columbia was fined under dictatorial China Virus orders whilst a gymnasium a few doors away continued to operate.
In certain areas of Ontario, including Toronto, the Premier did not ban religious services, he reduced it to ten. The Cardinal, Thomas Collins, reduced attendance at the Mass to zero, but you can still gather up to ten for private prayers. Seriously.
This storefront church has a greater commitment to their faith than our Cardinal.
Earlier this year with the China Virus raging and little known about it, (yes, the virus is real, it is not good, masks help, wash your hands as mom told you, don't touch your face... yada, yada) the government of Canada, as in the United States and presumably elsewhere, turned on the press and deflected the bill to our grandchildren not yet born.
Here are some quotes from Mr. MacCarthy the Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Toronto.
“The longer churches have to remain closed, then there are certainly financial implications, especially for smaller parishes that don’t have the same sort of financial support as some of our larger ones,” said Neil MacCarthy, the director of public relations and communications at the Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto. “We’re also trying to maintain as many ministries as we can with outreach to the vulnerable.”
“Churches rely on the generosity of their parishioners to maintain their operations day-to-day and those expenses don’t necessarily go away when you’ve got the church closed. You’re still heating the church and you’re still paying the water bill,” said MacCarthy.
“These are these are spiritual hubs. They’re community hubs. They’re outreach hubs. And so those kinds of solutions and creative solutions would be good points of discussion for government and faith communities,” said MacCarthy.
The snipped above is from a friend on Facebook. A Catholic woman in health care. It is revealing as to point out that the Cardinal's spokesman's pleas for government largess really doesn't matter. Even with Mass cancelled, many parishes are just not doing anything, let alone, public Mass.
Is your local parish open for private prayer? Is your pastor reaching out to his flock? Are you able to receive the Sacraments? I am asking you to give me examples of the situation naming the parish here in Toronto and Peel regions. You can write me at voxcantoris@rogers.com. We will "out" all of them.
Yesterday in Ottawa, the Minister of Finance announced a historic massive deficit that will cause yet unknown future crises. In her announcement she restated the government's intent to renew the wage and salary subside of up to 75%.
Since priest salaries and many internal staff were and are being paid by government subsidy and since "he who the piper pays dances to the piper's tune" is this why the Mass in Toronto and Peel has been shut down so that we don't reap the wrath of those who have us on a string?
Is it really about the money?
Your Eminence, if you can open churches for ten people for private prayer then why can you not open it to just nine and the priest can offer Mass?
This is all okay according to the doctors and public health professionals. The same professionals to whom Cardinal Thomas Collins, in a recent webinar to the priests of the Archdiocese of Toronto. referred to as "virtuous."
Virtuous.
Did I write somewhere that the same people that put out these posters about masturbation and glory holes, whom the Cardinal calls "virtuous," banned singing in church without the authority to do so and demanded that the Cardinal ban Holy Communion on the tongue and reluctantly accepted "dropping" the Holy Sacrament in one's hands?
Virtuous.
Oh, and today is the Feast of the St. Andrew the Apostle and while there can't be a Gloria there can be a glory hole and remember, there is ...
