As the great celebration of embracing gratitude for His Most Serene Eminence, Thomas "No Mass For You" Collins approaches, it behooves us to recycle some posts from the past. However, today we feature a very recent article and interview from The Pillar. It reveals a churchman who stood by and did nothing. He abdicated his responsibility for leadership on medically assisted murder/suicide and the cultural revolution in our catholic schools. His answers reveal a level of immaturity and a lack of sophistication for a man of his education and stature. The "tall cool drink" as some referred to him fifteen years is nothing more than warm, skunky beer in a paper cup.

I'm not sure in the case of MAID what he could have really done. He has never hidden his views on this, he even talked about it in his last homily.
It's interesting regarding schools. On a certain level, he has a point. There are some good people coming out of these schools, and it would be harder to reach thm in a private seting. But I think he's naive about the true scale of the problem. It might be more that there are s few good apples in the system than that there are a few bad apples, which he seems to think. I think he underestimates the power the schools have in mobilizing kids against catholicism. The vast majority will be nominal, if not leave the church. But the parents are also ignoring their own responsibility on a large scale, and are willingly complicit in others. Then again, I'm sure every educator sucks up to him whenever they see him, so it's possible that he might be getting a skewed view
Is asking people to pray the Sacred Heart devotion an adequate response to an entire month of LGBT celebration at Toronto Catholic schools?
