Oh the Nuns on the Bus go round and round

The Holy Father had suddenly halted any takeover or discipline against the Leadership Conference of Women Religious signalling yet another slap to his predecessor doing it on his birthday.

Really, who cares?

They have no vocations and they've made their choice. They have experimented or embraced feminism, eco-spirituality, enneagrams and socialism. Some have embraced abortion, lesbianism. In four years from Grade 4 to Grade 8, I saw the Sisters of St. Joseph go from a full habit to a modified habit to a pant suit to gone from Catholic education in Toronto - in four years! They have sold off their convent to a protestant college for $45,000,000.00 and put the education of Catholic girls in disarray. Their errors across North America and Europe are legendary. The new orders of Sisters will have nothing to do with this error and this Conference.

In a decade or less they will all be gone to retirement homes, infirmaries or the grave.

They are sterile.

The new communities of sisters are awesome! It's too bad about the Nuns on the Bus; they did and still do a lot of good in the world. But their trend is not going to really encourage any young women to want to be a part of it. If you promote yourself as just ordinary (and look ordinary); you're going to miss someone who is looking for an extraordinary life.

obviously the good sisters did not teach grammar. There is a difference between there and their.

Thank you for pointing out my brain cramp error in my quick composition.

There is definitely too much said today about the so-called "biological solution" concerning heteredox religious. These days it is not unusual for people to live into their 80's and 90's. Even if these orders lose all their members in the West due to old-age, they still have enough worldwide influence to import more members from poorer Catholic countries. These orders can continue to run our universities and Catholic institutions, albeit with fewer professed religious in leadership positions. They also have so much $ put away in investments they can probably afford to pay lay people to run their institutions for several decades.

I entered the Good Shepherd Sisters in the 1970's and without any prior discussion various sisters would show up at mass, first without their veil, then their habit would be traded in for lay clothes.

Then following that the constitutions and rule were up for grabs. Not to mention the weird masses at formation workshops that consisted of whole wheat bread and juice with everyone sitting around the altar.

It all felt too weird and empty and I left. Left the community and the church.

Praying the Rosary again led me back to my Catholic beginnings and Tradition. I am very fortunate to have a wonderful, holy, traditional spiritual director. God is so very good.
