Our Good Friday liturgy, like most Novus Ord0 Liturgy now, is the Liturgy of Anything But, anything BUT the tradition. We sang ten songs during the veneration of the cross. You would think that they could spare one song for the Reproaches, the traditional and official song during that time. But, no, the NO liturgist says no. Actually, she probably doesn't have a clue that there is a tradition. The quest for novelty is so bad that even at Christmas, we have to forego traditional carols for something "different" - as if carols on one day of the year weren't something different. This stripping of the garments of the Church has gone on long enough.

I learned yesterday in the Nov us or do hymnal that Jewish people do not need Jesus but are saved by the Old Covenant. Very interesting. I also learned in the prayers for non believers that there is not any explicit requirement that they hold the Christian faith to be saved. Very interesting. Why are people so slow to understand that this Vatican 2 religion is a different religion?

Fortunately for me Anonymous, I was able to attend the Extraordinary Form of the Mass where the Prayers for the Conversion of Jews and Pagans are still offered.

Even in Latin the Novus Ordo Missae is deficient in so many ways and Good Friday's prayers is a glaring example of it.
