Vatican official close to Pope’s inner circle shares explosive information

Our good friends at LifeSiteNews put out this article again on Twitter, overnight.

Perhaps, the time has come to disclose the identity.

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/vatican-official-close-to-popes-inner-circle-shares-explosive-information?

Plane conversation
I boarded the plane and took my seat. An older, rather heavy-set Italian who looked like he’d eaten his fair share of pasta sat down next to me. We exchanged greetings, and he introduced himself as an official of the former Pontifical Council for the Family, headed by Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia.
The official seemed to feel quite free to speak, and was keen to express that he knew Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, secretary general of the Synod of Bishops. There were a couple of moments during our conversation when he admitted he had spoken at length to Cardinal Baldisseri, but he could not reveal the contents of their conversation.
Our conversation quickly turned to the upcoming Synod. I simply asked questions and was sincerely listening and interested in his viewpoint. Also on this account, I think he felt free to speak. The beginning of our conversation focused a lot on the Kasper proposal,* and I was trying to understand the logic behind it.
Question: [After asking repeatedly about how someone can enter a second union when the first marriage is sacramental and valid] I don’t understand. If the first marriage was sacramental and valid, how can someone be admitted to Communion if they are in a second civil union? What about the indissolubility of marriage?
Response: What do you do when the indissolubility is dead, when there’s no more feeling?
[“Come si fa quando l’indissolubilta è morta, quando non c’è piu sentimento?]
I thought to myself: This is the last thing a priest should say to a newly married couple who is experiencing difficulty.
After some back and forth, I asked:
Question: But what about Pope John Paul II’s Familiaris Consortio, 84?**
Response: How can we accept [“ammettere”] it? It was written 30 years ago …
Question: But what about where Pope John Paul II says, in FC 84, that according to the Sacred Scripture and Tradition, someone who’s first marriage is valid and who is in a second union can’t be admitted to Holy Communion unless they live as brother and sister.
Response: We can’t expect a man and woman who are sleeping in the same bed to live as brother and sister.
Our conversation turned to some of the people the Pope had appointed to the Synod.
Question: The Pope chose Cardinal Kasper to attend the Synod. Do you think this means the Pope agrees with Kasper?
Response: [Notable Pause] … Yes
Question: What do you think of Kasper?
Response: “He’s the most intelligent man in the room.”
Question: And Cardinal Burke? …
Response: [Quickly he said] He’s not coming. He doesn’t count for anything; he’s too Lefebvrist.  [“Non conta per niente; è troppo Lefebvrista”]
Question: But I imagine there will be a lot of opposition from some of the bishops and cardinals at the Synod, especially from Africa, America, Poland. What will Pope Francis do?
Response: “He will listen, and then he’ll do what he wants.”
Question: But what about Pope Benedict? I don’t imagine he would agree.
Response: He’s a theologian, but he’s got no pastoral experience.
Question: And the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith?
Response: [With what seemed a disparaging tone] They think they are the guardians of the faith! The Pope is the guardian of the faith.
Question: I heard that the Pope appointed Cardinal Danneels*** to attend the Synod …
Response: Ah, what a good man … he is refined … [“è raffinato”]

Our conversation eventually turned to other more benign topics, then ended until we arrived in Rome. When we landed, he gave me his name and telephone number.

"What a good man," eh? that Cardinal Danneels, a protector of a homosexual priest rapist.

What a perverted mind in this corpulent cleric who spoke so imprudently but revealed so much.

Look at these two. Plotting. Conniving. Would Christ do this?

Will a sexual abuse scandal end the papacy of Pope Bergoglio?

Bergoglio has surrounded himself with sodomite priests, Msgr Ricca as one example, and praised "transvestites" and embrace the sodomite partner of a sodomite friend whilst in Washington. There are other examples.

Bergoglio has spoken much of combatting abuse. Is this true, or is he a hypocrite and is it about to take him down?

Is all the fuss over changing the Nervous Disordered liturgy again and the battle with the Knights of Malta a diversion of attention away from that which is brewing just below the surface?

Six cases where the sexual abuse scandal touches Pope Francis
January 25, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Recent revelations concerning Pope Francis and negligence over sexual abuse of minors are calling into question his strong words condemning the cover-up of sexual abuse.
In March 2014, in an announcement that received massive publicity, Pope Francis promised a new, more improved Vatican response to the clerical abuse of minors. He reaffirmed that the Vatican would institute zero tolerance for pedophile priests. He announced the creation of a new papal commission on child protection made up of Cardinals, experts, and victims of clergy abuse. This past May, Pope Francis spoke of the scandal again by saying, "This is a tragedy, we must not tolerate the abuse of minors. We must defend minors. And we must severely punish the abusers." Yet, there appears to be a gulf between his words on reform and the reality.

"Formal Correction" of the Pope is coming - a LifeSiteNews exclusive!

Our readers will be most interested in this exclusive interview by Lisa Bourne at LifeSiteNews with Raymond Cardinal Burke on the next steps relating to the four Cardinals dubia to the Pope on the errors in Amoris Laetitia. LifeSiteNews was once dismissed by Vatican advisor Thomas J. Rosica, CSB, and Executive Producer of the little watched Salt + Light Television, as being, "run out of somebody's basement in the Ottawa valley," and in being "non-Catholic." Some basement!

One might consider supporting their Christmas fundraising campaign to remind Father Rosica, and their other detractors, exactly how important they are today.

“The dubia have to have a response because they have to do with the very foundations of the moral life and of the Church’s constant teaching with regard to good and evil, with regard to various sacred realities like marriage and Holy Communion and so forth,” Burke said during a telephone interview.
“Now of course we are in the last days, days of strong grace, before the Solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord, and then we have the Octave of the Solemnity and the celebrations at the beginning of the New Year - the whole mystery of Our Lord’s Birth and His Epiphany - so it would probably take place sometime after that.”

Climate of fear in Vatican is very real

Image result for steve jalsevac john henry westenOne of the most respected news sources in the Catholic world today, is LifeSiteNews headed by Steve Jalsevac and John-Henry Westen. These are good men, faithful men. They are honest and committed to the work that they do. Their credibility and contacts and professionalism is highly regarded. Their detractors are amongst the "usual suspects" not necessary to name here.

That is why this article is so important

https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/climate-of-fear-in-the-vatican-is-very-real

December 16, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – Our Nov. 16-23 visit to Rome was the most dramatic of many such twice-per-year work trips we have taken there during the past 10 years. After meeting with cardinals, bishops and other Vatican agency and dicastery staff, John-Henry Westen, our new Rome reporter, Jan Bentz, and myself saw a consistent pattern of widespread anxiety and very real fear among faithful Church servants. We have never encountered this before.
Many were afraid of being removed from their positions, fired from their jobs in Vatican agencies or of encountering severe public or private reprimands and personal accusations from those around the pope or even from Francis himself.

Referencing Edward Pentin's statement last week about the climate of fear that has descended upon the Vatican, Steve Jalsevac takes it deeper with his own experience supported by other quotations and with examples of the manipulations as evidenced during a presser at the North American College.

What is most disturbing, however, is that these men who are faithful and know of the crisis at hand are actually in "fear." How can this be? How can these men who are to serve Christ and His Church be so interested in their careers and survival in a decadent and corrupted Vatican structure as to remain silent?

Is it a roof over their head? Is it food in their belly? Is it advancement? Ironically, is Francis actually correct when he refers to priests who are "careerists?"

Allow me to address these directly.

My brothers, reverend Fathers, Excellencies, Eminences;
It is time for you in the Vatican and elsewhere who are living under a "climate of fear" to find your testicular fortitude and rise up. We ask the Lord in the psalms, "be not angry with us forever." I ask you, "be not silent forever!' You were given a great gift, a gift of the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Men of an uncountable number came before you and sacrificed all for the "pearl of great price." Women were tortured and disgraced rather than betray Him.
We have had this past week, St. Lucy and St. Eusebius to serve as prime examples. Why do you not have one-tenth of their courage? Do you think you can work quietly inside and try to influence and to help?
You must find your courage to rise up and wake up the Catholic faith. More than anything, you fear disobedience, you fear schism. Well, the schism is already here and obedience to evil, is evil.

The time has come. As one commenter has said, we will take you in. Fox and I can take three and Mass is in the dining room.

What kind of man is Vincenzo Cardinal Paglia?

There has been the quite the debate for the last few years in the Province of Ontario, here in Canada, on changes to the health and sex education curriculum in our public secular and public Catholic schools. The previous Liberal government, headed by a Catholic, attempted to bring in radical changes that included masturbation, anal intercourse and oral copulation at the elementary school level; it was applauded by the homosexualist community but the government backed down in the face of still opposition from parents.

Image result for levin wynne trudeauGiven the incompetence of the oxymoronic, Progressive Conservative leader who
promised to fire 100,000 civil servants, the Liberals were re-elected under the Lesbian Premier, Kathleen Wynne. She promptly forced the radical sex education curriculum on the children and parents of Ontario. This curriculum was designed by a man named Benjamin Levin. a pervert who is now in prison for creating and distributing child pornography. Levin, pictured seated at the left above at Toronto's "PRIDE" parade attending with now Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the lesbian Premier Wynne. He was the Assistant Deputy Minister of Education for the Province of Ontario and previously, Manitoba. He was highly regarded amongst the educrats throughout Canada and, even in the United States. Once Catholic Quebec, has begun something similar for five year olds.

The Holy Catholic Church has been infiltrated by perverts not dissimilar to Benjamin Levin. What else is one left to think about Vincenzo Paglia? He sounds like goodfella.

There is something inherently evil about men who force and, or advocate explicit sexual "education" upon children. These people are Marxists and Freemasons who determine that the "State" not the parent is the arbiter of what a child should know and when. They are also homosexuals. While one might expect this from the secular state, one cannot accept this from a Catholic prelate, even one who has been given the blessing to do it by a Pope. Some of them are incestous, as Levin was. Some of them entice mothers to have sexual relations with their children on camera, as Levin did. Some of them where fancy clerical costume. Some of them are sodomites.

Dr. Richard Fitzgibbons is a renowned psychiatrist and has appeared often on EWTN programming. In an essay published on LifeSiteNews, Dr. Fitzgibbons writes:

“In a culture in which youth are bombarded by pornography, I was particularly shocked by the images contained in this new sex education program, some of which are clearly pornographic,” Fitzgibbons wrote. “My immediate professional reaction was that this obscene or pornographic approach abuses youth psychologically and spiritually. … As a professional who has treated both priest perpetrators and the victims of the abuse crisis in the Church, what I found particularly troubling was that the pornographic images in this program are similar to those used by adult sexual predators of adolescents.”

In a parallel to Ontario's radical sex-education program, Fitzgibbon continues:

As a professional who has treated both priest perpetrators and the victims of the abuse crisis in the Church, what I found particularly troubling was that the pornographic images in this program are similar to those used by adult sexual predators of adolescents.

One must wonder about the kind of man this Paglia is.

One must wonder about the kind of man that would put him in the position of power.

Bergoglio is responsible for this.

Laity call on Pope to retract Amoris Laetitia!

Other than Athanasius Schneider, for the most part, the Cardinal and Bishops of the Holy Catholic Church may be cowards, but the laity are not!

There are doctrinal errors and ambiguities in Amoris Laetitia. Jorge Bergoglio, Bishop of Rome, promulgated an exportation that is a scandalous assault on the Truth and Catholic doctrine.

Every Catholic has a right to demand that the Bishop of Rome retract this document or issue immediate corrections to the various matters even far beyond the Chapter 8 and its heretical footnote.

Some will say, "oh, there is much beautiful in this document." We hear this from celebrity almost daily. It is so affirming of "Life," because he wrote against abortion.

The day my friends when we praise a Pope for speaking against abortion is a pretty sad day because we've set the bar pretty low on what it means to be a Catholic, what it means to be a Pope.

There is more than one drop of poison in this wretched document. Some are highlighted below, in the above link and by Bishop Schneider.

None of us must rest until the Pope yields. Yes, we call upon the Pope to yield. Yield to the true faith and retract this heresy!

It doesn't matter what he said about gender ideology, large families, abortion, or on a plane about marriage, what matter is the last thing he did. That last thing, is his current thought and it is wrong!

The day of death will come for all of us and it will come for Jorge Bergoglio. As with all, he will stand along before Our Lord Jesus Christ to be judged. Unless he is unaware of what he is doing, if he is knowingly creating this confusion and perception that sacrilegious Communions can be tolerated, that immorality can be excused in false mercy, that sex-education is the right of the State over the parents and more, he will be held accountable. He will not get away with this; nor with Kasper, Forte and the rest of them. Neither will the local parish priest who sits by in silence while the sheep are devoured by the wolves.

All will be brought into the Light!

Pope Bergoglio! For the sake of your soul, retract this error!

Voice of the Family calls on Pope Francis to withdraw Amoris Laetitia

ROME, May 9, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) -- Over 100 pro-life and pro-family leaders from all over the world leapt to their feet in applause at a meeting in Rome on Saturday after hearing a call for Pope Francis to withdraw his controversial exhortation Amoris Laetitia.
John Smeaton, co-founder of Voice of the Family and the CEO of the UK Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, issued the request to the Pope in his keynote address at the annual Rome Life Forum.
Smeaton spoke following Bishop Athanasius Schneider, who in his speech decried growing confusion in the Church, and who has previously expressed grave concerns about the exhortation.
Smeaton highlighted several grave concerns with the exhortation, including:
  • the section about sex education, which speaks at length about sex education in schools, without reference to the rights of parents;
  • references to public adultery which fail to point out the intrinsic evil of adultery;
  • the suggestion that adulterous sexual acts may be justifiable; and,
  • the false message that marriage is not indissoluble.
The failure to speak clearly on adultery "shows a lack of mercy" said Smeaton, "because it denies Catholics the truth about right and wrong."
"It denies Catholics the knowledge they need to exercise true freedom, freedom from sin. It also shows a lack of mercy because it sends children the false message that marriage is not indissoluble. Arguably, Your Holiness, the most effective way of destroying children is to destroy marriage as an indissoluble lifetime union of a man and a woman."

LifeSiteNews Funding Appeal

Many of us depend on LifeSiteNews for their reporting. Let's support this great work.

Vox

Dear Friends of Life and Family,

This is an urgent message. With only 3 days remaining in our Spring campaign, we still have $113,000 - or 57% of our absolute minimum goal - left to raise!

That’s a really big leap to make in such a short time. Therefore, I must ask you to please stop everything, right now, and make a donation of whatever amount you can afford to support this unique work for life and family.

I simply cannot overemphasize how important your donation, no matter how large or small, is to the continued existence of LifeSite and our impact on the culture.

For 19 years now, we have relied almost exclusively on the donations of our growing army of everyday readers like you: readers who are tired of the anti-life and anti-family bias of the mainstream media, and who are looking for a different kind of news agency - one that fearlessly speaks the truth about the most important issues facing our world.

And while we may not have Hollywood celebrities supporting our mission, or reap millions in government grants - with God on our side, and the faithful support of so many dedicated pro-life and pro-family warriors like you:

We will continue to speak out boldly and fearlessly, unapologetically standing up in defense of the unborn, the family, faith, traditional morality, and freedom!

In these final, anxious days of our quarterly campaigns, our team here at LifeSite is always tempted to become anxious, imagining what will happen if we don’t reach our goal.

In these moments, however, we instead turn to prayer, remembering that God in his providence has never yet let us down.

Every morning during our staff prayer call, we pray that God’s will be done for LifeSite during the campaign. We pray for you, our faithful donors on those calls. And with God’s ever-faithful help we have always been given precisely what we need to carry on!

Freemasonic "third-eye" part of Vatican light show

Pete Baklinski at LifeSiteNews has a follow-up article to the disgraceful and abominable light show which used the facade and dome of St. Peter's Tomb as a movie screen.

Featured Image

Look at the picture, Does it send chills? It should. It is evil, it is Masonic.

The National Catholic Reporter, long ordered to remove "Catholic" from its name, called LifeSiteNews, "deranged" for their coverage of the event in Rome. The only derangement is amongst those Catholics who refuse to see exactly what this is and those malefactors in the Vatican that permitted and advocated this abomination.

It is the "third eye" the "eye of Horus" the "all-seeing eye of providence."

It is diabolical and it is not out of keeping with the vile depiction of Our Lord Jesus Christ for the Year of Mercy.

They can call LifeSiteNews or Vox "deranged," - the people that allowed this are Satanic.

Madness: Pope and Vatican officials to disgrace Our Lord's Church and the Blessed Mother in league with the world - Bishops and Cardinals, the time has come to end this insanity!

What a disgrace upon our Church.

This papacy must be called out for what it is. An abomination on Catholicism.

You dare do this on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Have you no fear of God to mock His Mother and Our Mother the Church in this envelope of darkness. This is not light, this is evil, pure unadulterated evil. This is satanic manipulated by Heresiarch Fischella under the watchful eye of Bergoglio. Is it not enough that the Catholic divorce motu proprio was signed on Her Assumption, announced on Her Nativity and comes into force on the day of Her Immaculate Conception? Now, you malefactors in Rome mock Her with the dark light of the world and technology?

Enough!

Bishops and Cardinals of the world. Enough of this mockery of the Church. Enough of this slander of the Blessed Mother. Enough of this diabolical disorientation. Call out the Jorge Bergoglio for this embarrassment. Call out him and Fischella for this scandalous fornication with the world.

Stop this mockery! Challenge this peronist regime. If you can't fight for Christ and his people then you are no better than these malefactors that would do such a thing.

I can barely contain my rage. Call me Jorge? There are other names to call him.

Vatican, World Bank partner to launch Year of Mercy with St. Peter’s ‘climate change’ light show

ROME, December 4, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) -- The Catholic Church, founded to shed the light of Christ on the world, has quite literally invited the world to shed its light on her. On December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception as well as the opening of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis has invited climate-change partisans and population-control advocates to project a light show onto the façade and cupola of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome — the most important church in the Catholic world — so as to “inspire change around the climate crisis.”
The show titled “Illuminating Our Common Home” will project onto St. Peter’s “images of our shared natural world” in order to “educate and inspire change around the climate crisis across generations, cultures, languages, religions and class,” states a press release about the event put out by one of the sponsors.
The Vatican’s spokesperson for the event, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, the president of the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization, called the event “unique…for its genre and for the fact that it is being displayed for the first time on such a significant backdrop.”
“These illuminations will present images inspired of Mercy, of humanity, of the natural world, and of climate changes,” Fisichella said.
Fisichella said that the light show on the Vatican is meant to link Pope Francis’ environment encyclical Laudato si’ with the United Nations Climate Change Conference (Cop21) currently underway in Paris. The Vatican has shown strong support for the conference.  Having the show conclude the opening Year of Mercy celebrations also links the pope’s message about “mercy” to fighting “climate change.”
Life and family leaders around the world remain skeptical about the Paris conference’s alleged agenda of fighting so-called “anthropogenic” global warming, with some warning that “saving the Planet” in climate-speak translates to an anti-human enterprise that targets nations, societies, and families.
The event, billed as “contemporary public art,” is sponsored by organizations named after Greek and Roman pagan gods that push the climate change agenda and by an organization that directly funds abortions in developing countries.

Behind the show

The main financial backer behind the event is the US-led World Bank Group via its Connect4Climate initiative. The World Bank, created in 1945 to rebuild a war-torn Europe, has a long history (here, here, or here) of relentlessly funding abortion and contraception programs in developing nations under the banner of “ending extreme poverty” and “boosting shared prosperity.” Pro-life leaders have denounced the programs time and again as thinly veiled population control programs aimed at reducing populations considered by Western elites to be undesirable. The organization, through its World Bank Spiritual Unfoldment Society (SUS), also has ties to non-Christian religious practices where employees engage in transhumanistic “meditation sessions” that aim at “personal transformation through self-knowledge, understanding, and awakening higher consciousness.”
Vulcan Inc., founded in 1986 by investor and philanthropist Paul G. Allen, is a private company based out of Seattle, Washington, that “strives to create a new kind of future” by “upend[ing] conventional thinking.” The company was deliberately named after the Roman god Vulcan, the deity of destructive fire, whose earliest known shrine existed in Rome at the foot of the Capitoline Hill, close by the Vatican.
Vulcan’s website states that its founder thought the name seemed fitting for a company “whose mission was to find smart solutions for some of the world’s biggest challenges.”
Another partner of the event is Okeanos, an environmentalist foundation begun in 2007 by Dieter Paulmann with the purpose of raising awareness “concerning the various threats our oceans are facing.” The foundation focuses on “planning, financing and implementation of projects that encompass positive change and make a difference.” It rails against what it calls the “sins against climate committed by…the present generation in particular,” which include “man-made environmental pollution (oil slicks, sewage, chemicals, CO2 production)” as well as “noise pollution (overly loud ships’ engines, sonar experiments).”
The foundation is named after the Greek and Roman Titan god “Okeanos” who was held to be the divine personification of the sea whose fish in one hand and serpent in the other signified his gifts of bounty and prophecy.
Obscura Digital, the San Francisco-based organization putting on the actual show, has its name derived from the Latin root meaning “dark.” The company specializes in creating “immersive experiences that will change the way you think about the world around you” using holographic projections, 3D animation, and dynamic visualization.
Obscura’s team of artists, coders, builders, and technologists are masters of manipulation through light and sound. The organization has in the past (here and here) worked on climate change projects with the UN to show the “effect of human enterprise on the environment” and to issue a “call for global solutions.” The organization’s clients include Apple, Google, Disney, Vulcan Productions, Nike, Nasa, Facebook, and UNESCO.

Dark and forbidding symbolism

There is much dark and forbidding symbolism behind the event and the organizations sponsoring it that is bizarrely connected to pagan occult practices, the worship of nature, and human sacrifice through abortion and population control.
The show is titled “Fiat Lux: Illuminating Our Common Home.” “Fiat Lux” is the first command issued by God at the beginning of creation: “Let there be light.” Instead of the Church presenting Jesus Christ as the light of the world, secular organizations named after pagan gods are literally “obscuring” the Church through their own dazzling light show. St. Paul warns the Corinthians to be on guard about Satan who he says “masquerades as an angel of light.” It’s as if through this phrase the organizers are symbolically taking the place of God and creating the world anew according to their own image and likeness.
The light show takes place on the most important Marian feast day for Catholics, the Immaculate Conception, in which Catholics celebrate Mary being conceived in the womb of her mother Anne without the stain of original sin. Mary has always been viewed by Catholics as an archetype of the Church since she carried Christ within her as the first tabernacle and then bore him into the world. The light show will project onto St. Peter’s, a building representative of Mary, images of earth and animals on her most important feast day. It is amounts to a crude dishonoring of Our Lady.
The World Bank with its hands bloodied by abortion and population control has no place working with the Vatican on a show that allegedly will reveal to the world images of what Archbishop Fisichella called “mercy, of humanity.” This is simply sick and twisted.
The show will certainly contain many “signs and wonders,” but Catholics must decide for themselves how to interpret them.

VATICAN THUGS BAR CATHOLIC PRIEST WITH CREDENTIALS FROM SYNOD YET ALLOWS HOMOSEXUAL LOBBYIST - THE PRIEST IS NOW IDENTIFIED

BREAKING!

Late last week we had reports from Michael Voris that a priest who challenged Gatineau Archbishop Durocher, had his press credential revoked. The next day, it was reported that a homosexual lobbyist who was not a journalist, was given credentials.

LifeSiteNews now reports on the identity of the priest barred by the Vatican and that a second "orthodox" priest also had his credentials removed.

What scondrels these men in the Vatican are in the manipulation of this Synod. Do they really think we're this stupid?

How many times did Pope Francis use the word "dialogue" on his trip to American?

Dialogue for everyone except Catholic, right Holy Father?

I wonder which dog-collared lap-dog assistant to Lombardi did the dirty work.

Hmmm.... I wonder.

Vatican revokes Catholic priest’s press credentials after he challenged archbishop

URGENT: Sign the pledge to pray for the Synod fathers and the outcome of the Synod on the Family here
ROME, October 12, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – Amid continuing concern about the Vatican press office’s “manipulation” of the family synod’s message, a priest who has been covering Vatican news for over 15 years had his credentials revoked last week, and was told to leave the premises “immediately.” The revocation came after he had challenged an archbishop following the October 6 press conference over comments claiming that allowing Communion for the divorced and remarried is up for debate.
Archbishop Paul-Andre Durocher made the comments in response to a reporter’s question about whether the matter pertained to Church discipline – which could potentially change – or doctrine, which is fixed.
“To be quite honest, there might be differences of opinion on that,” Durocher said. “Let’s be honest. Is that a question of doctrine or is that a question of discipline? I think that’s probably going to be one of the questions that will be debated in the small groups.”
"If you want doctrine, go read Denzinger,” he added.
Image
Father Nicholas Gregoris
As Archbishop Durocher walked back after the press briefing, Father Nicholas Gregoris approached him and questioned him on the remarks.
“I told him that I think it was very dangerous to say the Church can change her teaching on the divorced and Communion,” Father Gregoris told LifeSiteNews. In particular, the priest told Archbishop Durocher that “conciliarism is a heresy,” referring to the idea that Church councils can establish doctrine independently of the pope.
Father Gregoris noted that he was “agitated” by the archbishop’s remarks, but argued that “speaking passionately” is not a crime.

More on the scandalous sabotage of Canadian Catholics and the Pro-Life cause by Canada's Bishops Conference

Yesterday's post, "Former employee reports, "Catholic Bishops complicit in Scandalous Sabotage of the Pro-Life Cause in Canada," links back to the genesis of this scandal. I originally posted my thoughts about our current election in Canada and an opinion on the Pro-Life movements record, not bound in all the facts. Steve Jalsevac of LifeSiteNews wrote me about my words and gave permission to publish his letter. That letter from Steve has been an incredibly valuable document. The blogpost by former CCCB employee Lea Z. Singh shines even more light on the scandal that the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops has committed - a scandal that began with the Winnipeg Statement dissenting from Humanae Vitae so many years ago.

We, as Catholics in Canada are responsible too. We have been to easy to "go along to get along" and we have let our bishops off the hook. We have hidden behind their own weakness to excuse our sinful actions and our "choice" mentality.

Steve has written to me again with some further information that was too long for the combox. I am posting it here with a few comments in brackets and italics for clarity for those who may not be familiar with the Canadian situation:

Dear David,

Thanks for the gracious apology and the comments from others. Many have asked John-Henry and I to do a book, but we are stretched to the maximum all the time so I don’t know if that will be possible. However, we shall see.

Former St Bonaventure's pastor Friar Rick also actively campaigned for openly homosexual United Church pastor Roy Oliphant  who was elected as Liberal MP for the parish riding of Don Valley West. (Friar Richard Riccioli was born in Montreal and is now in the Diocese of Syracuse. Long ago he silenced comments on his blog because Catholics in Toronto were taking him to task for his many of his statements in the Toronto press and his blog. The NDP is a Socialist Party and is aggressively pro-abortion, no candidates may hold a Pro-Life position. )

And of course your readers may be well aware of the huge efforts by Campaign Life Coalition, LifeSiteNews and others for many years to encourage the Catholic bishops to stop funding pro-abortion, pro-contraception and pro-homosexual, leftist groups through Development and Peace. While pro-life and pro-family groups have been working heroically across Canada and internationally, these groups, using hundreds of millions of dollars in donations directed to them from the aid organizations of the CCCB and other nations’ bishops conferences, have been actively undermining, all the work that we and others have been doing in Canada and around the world. In Catholic schools and parishes in Canada, Development and Peace has been indoctrinating generations of children and parishioners with its liberal Catholic (anti-Catholic), secularist, leftist world views. And it is still fighting back very hard against its faithful Catholic critics.

It is beyond any comprehension that this can still be going on. The latest word is that the CCCB is developing a new strategy to undermine and neutralize the Development and Peace critics. That is, to destroy the good name and reputation of the critics instead of dealing with the enormous amount of evidence that was given to them about serious problems with the decision making flaws of D&P funding decisions. (see this link for D & P's campaign to silence its critics:

Another scandal has been the total lack of cooperation of the Ontario Bishops (with one known exception) with the faithful laity attempting to stop the implementation of the Ontario government's sex ed curriculum. CLC, LifeSite, REAL Women and numerous other groups of various cultural and religious backgrounds have undertaken historically unprecedented cooperative actions to try to stop the curriculum. However, the bishops insisted on taking the quiet, behind the scenes direct negotiations with the government route which was predictably a total failure, as such a strategy has always been on these kinds of issues. (The same failed approach I should add that allowed "Gay Straight Alliances" into our Catholic schools. More than one Toronto priest has told me that they were "forbidden" to speak on the issue from the pulpit!)

The bishops forbade all agencies and persons under their direct authority from publicly opposing the curriculum, or at least that is what happened in the Toronto diocese. They took for themselves the authority over the sex education of Catholic children while leaving those of other or no faiths in public schools abandoned to the certain harm of the curriculum. This was in direct violation of Catholic teaching where it is clearly stated that parents, not bishops, are the first educators of their children and have the main responsibility for that education and that bishops have a responsibility to assist them and persons of all faiths on such major and serious moral matters.

All appeals for a meeting and other cooperation with the bishops from those publicly opposing the curriculum were ignored by the bishops and in some cases the parents and groups were told to stop being so vocal because it was interfering with the bishops' own unilaterally decided strategy. You can imagine the dismay and puzzlement of not just the Catholics, but also all others opposed to the curriculum in reaction to this Catholic institutional indifference and even hostility towards their efforts. Had the bishops instead decided to use their moral authority and roused the parishioners throughout the province to actively demand that the government withdraw the immoral curriculum, together with all the other opposing groups, I have no doubt whatever that it would have been withdrawn. But Church authorities decided completely against that, relying as usual on professional Catholic and well-connected and wealthy advisors and lawyers, etc. who cannot be trusted to have the protection of the faith as a high priority.

As was discovered, various Catholic agencies actually quietly, unknown to the Catholic population, took part in the development of the curriculum and completely supported it. Many also learned the that current Catholic Fully Alive program already incorporates many, but not all, of the elements in the government program and has done so for years. So no wonder the opposition to the program was so weak as to be almost non-existent.

As the grassroots parents movement against the curriculum is growing and thousands show up to participate in the various events, one thing is becoming more disturbingly obvious every day. The Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus, Chinese Christians, Russian and other Orthodox, Coptics, Evangelicals, Pentecostals and many other cultural and religious group leaders are visibly present, but there are rarely ever any representatives of the Catholic Church at the events. It is a great embarrassment and shame for the individual Catholics who are taking part in this movement. Where is the Catholic Church all are saying - the largest religious denomination in the province, with the very best documented and presented teachings in the world in these issues? The one religious denomination with by far the most potential influence in the province.

Not only are they not there, they are actively opposing this parents’ movement and supporting the curriculum behind the scenes and sometimes in public. This is yet another great scandal.

One thing that the pro-life has been very grateful for is that a large number of Catholic bishops has been participating in a meaningful way in the March for Life for the past several years. We always want to give credit where credit is due and LifeSite is happy to report such positive, helpful actions assisting the laity on the great moral struggles of our time.

And I have never meant any of these comments to reflect badly on all the bishops. Here and there some bishops have done good things and there are some bishops much more faithful than others. Archbishop Prendergast has been faithful in so many ways as was now retired bishop Nicholas Di Angeles of Peterborough, a wonderful man who did the best that he could in many situations and was a faithful supporter of both CLC and LifeSiteNews.

Also, the Catholic laity is not remotely aware of the intense pressure that is often put on outspokenly faithful bishops by the bishops conferences and other persons in in the Church to not "rock the boat." This really does happen and has often happened. The stories I have heard would curl your hair. (Put it in a book!) The dissident, worldly and especially the homosexual bishops, have been ruthless against their brother bishops who "step out of line” from the CCCB, Ontario Bishops or other provincial bishops' conferences unity of mediocrity or worse. They see these good bishops are being dangerous to their agendas.

But again, not all is negative, and LifeSite is always very happy to be able to report any good news regarding the Catholic Church in Canada.
