The Homosexual Manifesto

Reports from Scotland indicate that Father Matthew Despard of the Diocese of Motherwell who declared that a "powerful gay mafia" existed in the Church in Scotland has been found guilty of defamation. Father Despard published a book available called Priesthood in Crisis - One Priest's Experience for which he was suspended and charged by his Bishop in the Courts. Yet, this is the same Church in Scotland that for decades harboured a sodomite who rose to the Cardinaliate which was recently removed by Pope Francis.

In the United States, it has been discovered that the financial executive of Catholic Relief Services has engaged in a mockery of "married" to another man.

This filth has infected the Catholic Church with priests, bishops and cardinals. I agree with the manifesto, they should be "outed."

The cover-up must end. The time has come for the cleansing of the Church.

There can be no compromises with this evil no matter if they be a lay bureaucrat, a priest, a bishop or a cardinal.

THE HOMOSEXUAL MANIFESTO

By Michael Swift, "Gay Revolutionary."
Reprinted from The Congressional Record of the United States Congress.
First printed in Gay Community News, February 15-21 1987

“We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of your shallow dreams and vulgar lies. We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms, in your sports arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your movie theater bathrooms, in your army bunkhouses, in your truck stops, in your all male clubs, in your houses of Congress, wherever men are with men together. Your sons shall become our minions and do our bidding. They will be recast in our image. They will come to crave and adore us.

“Women, you cry for freedom. You say you are no longer satisfied with men; they make you unhappy. We, connoisseurs of the masculine face, the masculine physique, shall take your men from you then. We will amuse them; we will instruct them; we will embrace them when they weep. Women, you say you wish to live with each other instead of with men. Then go and be with each other. We shall give your men pleasures they have never known because we are foremost men too, and only one man knows how to truly please another man; only one man can understand the depth and feeling, the mind and body of another man.

“All laws banning homosexual activity will be revoked. Instead, legislation shall be passed which engenders love between men. All homosexuals must stand together as brothers; we must be united artistically, philosophically, socially, politically and financially. We will triumph only when we present a common face to the vicious heterosexual enemy.

“If you dare to cry faggot, fairy, queer, at us, we will stab you in your cowardly hearts and defile your dead, puny bodies.

“We shall write poems of the love between men; we shall stage plays in which man openly caresses man; we shall make films about the love between heroic men which will replace the cheap, superficial, sentimental, insipid, juvenile, heterosexual infatuations presently dominating your cinema screens. We shall sculpt statues of beautiful young men, of bold athletes which will be placed in your parks, your squares, your plazas. The museums of the world will be filled only with paintings of graceful, naked lads.

“Our writers and artists will make love between men fashionable and de rigueur, and we will succeed because we are adept at setting styles. We will eliminate heterosexual liaisons through usage of the devices of wit and ridicule, devices which we are skilled in employing.

“We will unmask the powerful homosexuals who masquerade as heterosexuals. You will be shocked and frightened when you find that your presidents and their sons, your industrialists, your senators, your mayors, your generals, your athletes, your film stars, your television personalities, your civic leaders, your priests are not the safe, familiar, bourgeois, heterosexual figures you assumed them to be. We are everywhere; we have infiltrated your ranks. Be careful when you speak of homosexuals because we are always among you; we may be sitting across the desk from you; we may be sleeping in the same bed with you.

“There will be no compromises. We are not middle-class weaklings. Highly intelligent, we are the natural aristocrats of the human race, and steely-minded aristocrats never settle for less. Those who oppose us will be exiled. We shall raise vast private armies, as Mishima did, to defeat you. We shall conquer the world because warriors inspired by and banded together by homosexual love and honor are invincible as were the ancient Greek soldiers.

“The family unit-spawning ground of lies, betrayals, mediocrity, hypocrisy and violence--will be abolished. The family unit, which only dampens imagination and curbs free will, must be eliminated. Perfect boys will be conceived and grown in the genetic laboratory. They will be bonded together in communal setting, under the control and instruction of homosexual savants.

All churches who condemn us will be closed. Our only gods are handsome young men. We adhere to a cult of beauty, moral and esthetic. All that is ugly and vulgar and banal will be annihilated. Since we are alienated from middle-class heterosexual conventions, we are free to live our lives according to the dictates of the pure imagination. For us too much is not enough.

“The exquisite society to emerge will be governed by an elite comprised of gay poets. One of the major requirements for a position of power in the new society of homoeroticism will be indulgence in the Greek passion. Any man contaminated with heterosexual lust will be automatically barred from a position of influence. All males who insist on remaining stupidly heterosexual will be tried in homosexual courts of justice and will become invisible men.

“We shall rewrite history, history filled and debased with your heterosexual lies and distortions. We shall portray the homosexuality of the great leaders and thinkers who have shaped the world. We will demonstrate that homosexuality and intelligence and imagination are inextricably linked, and that homosexuality is a requirement for true nobility, true beauty in a man.

“We shall be victorious because we are fueled with the ferocious bitterness of the oppressed who have been forced to play seemingly bit parts in your dumb, heterosexual shows throughout the ages. We too are capable of firing guns and manning the barricades of the ultimate revolution.

“Tremble, hetero swine, when we appear before you without our masks.”

They'll lose their souls in San Francisco

A number of wealthy, and in their minds, influential Catholics have taken it upon themselves to place a full-page advertisement in a San Francisco newspaper calling upon Pope Francis to bow to their demands and remove Archbishop Cordileone. The Holy Father did not bow to the demands of the people of Osorno in Chile with a questionable appointment there of an Archbishop that was under suspicion of being present during and ignoring certain abuses by a perverted sodomite priest. Here we have those of influence in a city dominated by sodomites demanding that a bishop be removed.

The Holy Father is not going to bow to the demands of these lay folk if he did not bow to the demands of those in Osorno.

As for the people who attached their signatures to this, shame on you. Many of you have given hundreds of thousands of dollars to the likes of the DNC, Obama, Boxer and Pelosi. You have revealed yourselves.

For the facts on some of the rich and dissenting "Catholics" who paid for this add and signed it, First Things has a compilation.

  • Charles Geschke is the co-chairman of Adobe Systems, which had 2014 revenue of $4.147 billion. He has given over $200,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign and $40,000 to the Democratic National Committee. Reuters reports his basic compensation at $4,129,090 with $5,302,000 in exercisable, $19,993,300 in unexercisable, and $10,993,600 in exercised options compensation.

  • Louis J. Giraudo is the former chairman of Pabst Brewing and a partner at Coblentz Patch Duffy and Bass LLP, where he “is focused on mergers and acquisitions of companies with revenues of $50 million to $2.5 billion.” He “has negotiated labor agreements for companies with as many as 11,000 employees, as well as acquisitions and sales of hotels and other real property.”

  • David Grubb is the former president of construction firm Swinerton Inc. After a 240-ton tower crane operated by a subcontractor hired by his firm fell and killed five people in 1989, he told a House subcommittee that “‘we don't deal with safety’ records when it comes to hiring subcontractors.” The company hired by his firm had been cited for fifty-nine violations between 1985 and 1988 with proposed fines totaling $110,000.

  • Larry Nibbi is CEO of Nibbi Brothers Construction, a company with $199 million in 2014 revenue according to the Engineering News-Record. The company was cited for three serious OSHA violations in 2011 after an inadequately constructed concrete form collapsed, allowing the wet concrete to partly bury three workers. OSHA determined that “the employer overloaded their working platform center support beam that broke in two, causing a catastrophic failure of the platform and the false work above.” The project the injured men were working on was worth $40 million.

  • Clint Reilly worked on political campaigns for Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, and Barbara Boxer before becoming “founder and owner of the Clinton Reilly Holdings, a diversified family of commercial real estate and hospitality businesses” and amassing an “estimated $100 million fortune.” In 2001, a writer for SF Weekly described a visit to Reilly's home: “My leather-jacketed host, Clint Reilly, taps a code into the security system that unlocks the metal gate to his 120-acre estate in Napa County. In his black Mercedes sedan, we climb past hillside vineyards and through a pine forest, emerging on top of Mount Veeder, where we park in front of a chateau.”

For everyone else, there is this petition "I STAND WITH ARCHBISHOP CORDILEONE AGAINST SHAMEFUL ATTACKS!" It has 43,033 signatures at this writing. Let's move it to 50,000!

Prominent Catholics have taken out a full-page ad in The Chronicle calling on Pope Francis to replace San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone "with a leader true to our values and your namesake." VIEW LARGER IMAGE / ONLINE_YES

Mary Wagner convicted

Mary Wagner was "convicted": a sentencing hearing will be held on May 5th

Fr. Piotr Bałtarowicz
Mary Wagner's trial for "probation violation", and "interfering with a business" was held this Thursday at 10 a.m., at the College Park Courts (444 Yonge St; at the corner of Yonge and Dundas). It is important to note, that while Mary's trial ensued, her dear friend, Linda Gibbons, will be sitting in prison at Vanier, 60 kms away, awaiting her upcoming trial (probably in June).

At the trial, this time, finally - thanks be to God - a Catholic priest was  present, Fr. Piotr Bałtarowicz; in Canada - from far off Poland - for a pilgrimage of solidarity with Mary and Linda - to the "Sanctuary behind bars".

Please visit Toronto Catholic Witness for Barona's full report!

Oh the Nuns on the Bus go round and round

The Holy Father had suddenly halted any takeover or discipline against the Leadership Conference of Women Religious signalling yet another slap to his predecessor doing it on his birthday.

Really, who cares?

They have no vocations and they've made their choice. They have experimented or embraced feminism, eco-spirituality, enneagrams and socialism. Some have embraced abortion, lesbianism. In four years from Grade 4 to Grade 8, I saw the Sisters of St. Joseph go from a full habit to a modified habit to a pant suit to gone from Catholic education in Toronto - in four years! They have sold off their convent to a protestant college for $45,000,000.00 and put the education of Catholic girls in disarray. Their errors across North America and Europe are legendary. The new orders of Sisters will have nothing to do with this error and this Conference.

In a decade or less they will all be gone to retirement homes, infirmaries or the grave.

They are sterile.

Good Cardinals, Bad Cardinals

The Radical Catholic has a good commentary today worth reading with regards to recent comments by Cardinals Müller, Sarah and Brandmüller who have all called Cardinal Walter Kasper's Synodal machinations, "heretical." Let us remember what Cardinal Müller said:
"Any separation of the theory and the practice of the faith would, in its formulation, represent a subtle christological heresy."
Radical Catholic applies that statement to comments by Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl:
"I think one of the reasons we're having this Synod, one of the reasons the Holy Father has asked for two Synods, is to reflect on the situation today. When we talk about doctrinal 'givens,' things that are 'fixed,' we're talking about something such as, in what marriage consists. The reception of Communion is not a doctrinal position; it's a pastoral application of the doctrine of the Church. And that involves a number of things: it involves the mercy of God, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the conscience of the individual person, the state of the soul of that individual person - all of those things are quite distinct from a statement in the doctrine of the Church concerning the nature of marriage. And I think we have to sort those things out. And that's probably what's going to go on in these two Synods. We're not in a position to say, "This is how this must be understood today," if all we intend to say is, "It must be repeated," i.e. what we said in the past. We have to repeat the doctrine, but the pastoral practice is what we're talking about. That's why we're having the Synod, and just to repeat the practice of the past, without any effort to see, "Is there some awareness, openness, influence of the Spirit, that might be helping us - in total continuity with our past practice - to find a new direction today?"
This same statement by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith can be applied to this statement frequently uttered on video by Father Thomas J. Rosica, CSB at conferences apparently originated by Richard Gaillardetz Joseph Professor of Catholic Systematic Theology at Boston College as written in the September 25 2013 issue of the National Catholic Reporter:
Will this pope rewrite controversial church doctrines? No, but that isn't how doctrine changes. Doctrine changes when pastoral contexts shift and new insights emerge such that particular doctrinal formulations no longer mediate the saving message of God's transforming love. Doctrine changes when the church has leaders and teachers who are not afraid to take note of new contexts and emerging insights. It changes when the church has pastors who do what Francis has been insisting on for the last six months: Leave the security of your chanceries, rectories, parish offices and episcopal residences. Set aside the "small-minded rules" that keep you locked up and shielded from the world. Go meet the people where they are.
We have just six months until round two of the "battle" that Cardinal Kasper whined about recently. Yes indeed, it is a battle and we will not lay down and allow Cardinals and others with heretical ideas as confirmed by these three Cardinals run over the Church and the Catholic faithful.

Many have and will suffer for it as we have seen and I include myself in that with the imprudent and unjust actions against me by Father Thomas Rosica of the Congregation of St. Basil with his failed attempt to bankruptcy into silence. There can be no silence in the face of this potential heresy that some would perpetrate. We see the evil and confusion that is proffered by some Cardinals such as Kasper and Danneels, Marx and Wuerl and bishops with a homosexualist and homoheresy agenda such as Bonny, Currie and Lynch. Thank God that it is being balanced by voices of truth and clarity and filled with Christ such as Cardinal Burke and these three.

How many Cardinals does it take to condemn a heresy?

If I had been gifted with more wit by Almighty God, I'd be able to turn that into one heck of a joke. I'm sure there's at least a mediocre one in there somewhere.

As many of you know by now, Cardinal Walter Brandmüller, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Commission for Historical Sciences, has gone on record in condemnation of any proposal to change Catholic teaching on marriage as heresy. As reported on LifeSiteNews yesterday, when asked whether the Church can change its teaching on marriage without falling into grave error, the good Cardinal replied:

Patricia Jannuzzi is a class act!

The Fox and I made a contribution to Patricia Jannuzzi during the campaign for funds to support her and her family following the unjust leave and information that she would be without a contract come September 2015.

As we know, she has been reinstated, and Bishop Bootkoski, the Monsignor of the parish and the school administrators suitably embarrassed for their deceitful treatment of her.

Mrs. Jannuzzi has much more class. I received a letter from her today of thanks and a note from her lawyer that all contributors will have their funds returned.

God bless our sister for her act of class and integrity. Something that the Bishop, Susan Sarandon and the gaystapo clearly lack.

Australian Readers take note! Benjamin Levin - Ontario's Pervert Child Pornographer still promoted by the University of Sydney

You may know the name Benjamin Levin.

Levin is a Toronto educator and bureaucrat responsible for the Ontario government's obscene sex-education agenda teaching masturbation, oral copulation and sodomy and the goodness of homosexuality and lesbianism to elementary school students including the order that it be taught in Catholic Schools.

Levin is pervert and a convicted child pornographer.

Why is the University of Sydney still glorifying this creep?

Will my readers in Australia take this up? Leave a note in the combox.

Godfried Danneels has no business at any Synod especially one on the family

Last October I wrote a post, "Again I ask, why is Godfried Danneels at the Synod? The question is even more relevant now than it was then. Reprinted below is a story from 2010 where Danneels covered up the activity of sodomite perverts in the priesthood. The story on this Cardinal is not getting any better.

He has urged victims to be silent about being sodomised and has said that gay "marriage" is a "positive development." Now we have this shocking report at Rorate Caeli Blog that this Prince of the Church counselled the King of Belgium, in 1990 to sign an abortion law. Sandro Magister documents Danneels pathetic support for sodomite unions as well as his disdain for Pope Benedict XVI.

Based on this public information what are we left to conclude about Godfried Danneels? Does he believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ? Does he have any faith? How can a Shepherd behave this way if he feared God? Is he himself a sodomite?

Why do the Catholic faithful need to see men such as these in prominent influence and lauded by our Pope? Is the Pope blind to the facts and utter evil propagated by these Judases?

One would think that an octogenarian would be putting himself in order to meet his Maker.

Belgian prelate perverts and their catechism kiddie porn

Belgian catechism pictureThe Vatican and the Belgian Catholic hierarchy are squealing like stuck pigs over the police raid last week on the home of the former head of Belgium's eight million Catholics. The cops seized a personal computer and documents belonging to Cardinal Godfried Danneels. Police also raided the archdiocesan palace near Brussels, and the crypt of the cathedral at Mechelen. They confiscated 450 files containing reports of paedophile offences by members of clergy.
Squeal? The bishops ought to be grateful the police weren't kicking in heads as well as kicking in doors. In April Cardinal Danneels' close friend, Monsignor Roger Vangheluwe, the Bishop of Bruges, admitted to having molested children for years, both before and after he became a bishop. In a country which has never recovered from the shock and shame of the Dutroux case, in which legal fumbling -- and perhaps corruption -- by police and prosecutors left a murderous, torturing paedophile loose for years to imprison and rape young girls, patience has run out.
Now increasing evidence of decades of rape and sodomy of children by Belgian's priests has pushed the law enforcement authorities to act with the kind of determination they should have used against Dutroux and his collaborators.
The arrogance of the bishops in dealing with years of worries by parents makes this action all the more satisfying. In the current issue of the on-line Brussels Journal, a member of the federal parliament, Dr Alexandra Colen, writes about her struggles, and struggles by other parents, to have a Church catechism stinking of paedophile propaganda withdrawn from Catholic schools.
Included were drawings such as the one above, in which a naked baby girl is saying: 'Stroking my p**sy feels groovy,' and 'I like to take my knickers off with friends' and 'I want to be in the room when Mum and Dad have sex.' Another drawing shows a naked little boy and girl that are 'playing doctor' and the little boy is saying, 'Look, my willy is big.'
Another drawing shows three pairs of parents. Those with the 'correct' attitude -- and remember, this meant to be an official handbook of Church teaching  -- reply, ' Yes feeling and stroking those little places is good fun.'
Dr Colen discovered this catechism among the school books of her 13-year old daughter in 1997. Dr Colen wrote to Cardinal Danneels, who was then still in office as head of Belgium's Catholics, and said: 'When I see this drawing and its message, I get the distinct impression that this catechism textbook is designed intentionally to make 13 and 14 year olds believe that toddlers enjoy genital stimulation.'
'In this way one breeds paedophiles that sincerely believe that children actually think that what they are doing to them is "groovy," while the opposite it the case.' She demanded the Church withdraw the book. Her protests, and protests by other parents, were dismissed by the Cardinal.
As she explains the Brussels Journal: 'Today this case, that dates from 12 years ago, assumes a new and ominous significance. Especially now that I know that Mgr Roger Vangheluwe, the paedophile child-molesting Bishop of Bruges, was the supervising bishop of both institutions -- the Catholic University of Leuven and the Seminary of Bruges -- whence came the editors in chief of this perverted "catechism" textbook.'
'Monsignor Vangheluwe not only entertained paedophile ideas, but also practised them on his 11-year old nephew.'
After Dr Colen started her campaign against such paedophile propaganda in schools, other parents came forward with accounts of children in Catholic schools being required to watch videos showing techniques of masturbation and copulation.
When hundreds of parents gathered in protest in from of the Cardinal's residence, he refused to meet them. Other protests demanded an investigation into these books and videos in the schools. The investigation was refused. When parents demanded to meet the Papal Nuncio, the Pope's ambassador in Belgium, he refused to meet them. Instead he alerted the police who moved in to guard his residence from the parents with water cannon.
Meanwhile, some of Cardinal Danneels' friends -- was his good friend the paedophile Bishop of Bruges among them? -- started a press campaign against Dr Colen, claiming she was 'pestering the bishops'.  Finally the Cardinal's official spokesman rang her and insisted she had to 'be obedient' to the bishops.
But word of Dr Colen's campaign spread out to the Church across the world, and she received support from as far away as New Zealand. Letters of support for her arrived at the Vatican. Last February, the Belgian newspaper De Standaard wrote that these letters 'enhanced Rome's perception of the weak church leadership in Belgium.' The liberal Cardinal Danneels was replaced by Archbishop André-Joseph Léonard. Rome dropped him into the job in the hope he could restore the Church in Belgium. Léonard has already urged victims to take their cases to court.
Which is a start. But squealing about a perfectly correct police raid is not. The bishops need to shut up and just hand over the documents.

Pope Francis and genocide

Pope Francis has used the word "genocide" to describe what happened to the Armenians at the hands of the Ottoman Turks. Good for him!

Indeed, we can add to this the Greek and the Assyrian Genocide and the persecution of my Maronite ancestors by the Ottomans and the evil that has come out of the false religion of a desert dweller that has denied Christ for 1400 years. Yesterday, in Byzantium, words from the at false prophet and antichrist were read in the Church of Holy Wisdom.

The government of Turkey is upset and has called in the Ambassador of the Holy See and has recalled their own from Rome.

Enough of the lies of these Turks and of Islam. Perhaps the Pope has come to the conclusion that the slaughtering of Christians in the last year has in fact been with the acquiescence of these in Turkey who refused to defend the Assyrians on their border and have provided access points for murderous barbarians to join the so-called Islamic State of Dirt Dwellers. This is nothing new for the Turkmen who have done this so many times in the past.

Let us give thanks to God that Pope Francis has named the evil. May he find the courage and wisdom to call out the root of it.

Turkey threatens a response

Erdogan's Turkey threatens "response" to Pope’s affirmation of Armenian "genocide"
Government officials across the board define " the words spoken yesterday by Francis as “invalid", "null and void", "inappropriate", "unilateral", "unacceptable" and "distorts history". The same words used in 2001 by John Paul II. But the "moderate" Islamic president wants to propose a new Ottomanism and is concerned about the approach of the general elections of 7 June.

Rome (AsiaNews) -  "Null and void", "inappropriate", "unilateral", "unacceptable" and    a “distortion of history", this is the harsh response from the Turkish government to Pope Francis’ words about the "genocide" of Armenians carried out one hundred years ago by  the Ottoman Empire.
Francis was speaking during Mass celebrated for the "Metz Yeghern", the Armenian "Great Evil" when he stated that " our human family has lived through three massive and unprecedented tragedies. The first, which is widely considered “the first genocide of the twentieth century” affected the Armenian people.
Ankara’s response seems to indicate a new Vatican attitude regarding the Armenian "genocide" – which Turkey continues to deny - but in reality the term was used in the Joint Declaration made in Armenia, in Etchmiadzin by John Paul II and Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, September 27, 2001, which was expressly mentioned yesterday. At the time, the Turkish reaction was very bland.
Thus, if the "Vatican" statement is the same and the Turkish reaction very different, the change of policy actually is on Ankara’s part.  The political power has passed from the secularism of parties who referred to the tradition of Kemal Ataturk to that of the "moderate" Islamism of Erdogan and his attempt to propose a new Ottomanism. Moreover, the president is concerned about the approach of the general elections of June 7, to the point of taking intransigent positions on the most sensitive national issues to contain the dreaded drain of votes from his AKP party towards MHP nationalists.
In fact, yesterday the Turkish foreign ministry summoned the papal nuncio, Archbishop Antonio Lucibello, to whom the deputy undersecretary Levent Murat Burhan said that the Pope’s remarks caused “deep sorrow and disappointment” in Ankara. Criticizing the Pope’s remarks as “one-sided” and “far from accurate,” that they had “created a loss of trust in bilateral ties” and that “Turkey will surely respond.” Ankara has also recalled its Ambassador to the Holy See Mehmet Pacaci "for consultations". The Foreign Ministry, in making their decision known stated that the allegation made by Francis " is controversial in every aspect, which is based on prejudice, which distorts history and reduces the pains suffered in Anatolia under the conditions of the First World War to members of just one religion".
And that’s not all. The Minister of Turkey to the EU, Volkan Boksir, via Twitter also wrote: " I reject the Papal attitude, which should strive to leave a legacy of peace and friendship for future generations, but instead tries to derive enmity out of history". “There is - he added - There is no period of time in Turkey's history that it would be ashamed of. Efforts towards constituting an identity based on falsified documents will fail". And there’s even more, the Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in another tweet described the Pope's words as "unacceptable", " far from historic and legal truths".
Finally, the same Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, In a televised speech on Sunday, Davutoglu accused the pontiff of making “inappropriate” and “one-sided” remarks, adding, "We'd expect the religious leaders to call for peace. Opening archives for those whose hearts are sealed serves no purpose". This last statement refers to the request made to Turkey, and never met, to open the archives relating to that period.
In this regard, the official Anadolu news agency, repeats the "historic" Turkish line, according to which "the Ottoman Empire, following the revolt, moved Armenians to eastern Anatolia and there were Armenian victims during the process of relocation".
An estimated one and a half million. (FP)

Why Does No-one Remember the Assyrian Victims of Ottoman Turkey's Christian Holocaust?

As you read below this article from October 2014 and scan the old photos, ask yourself, have you seen these images lately? Who was behind it then? Who is behind it now?

You may have heard of the Armenian genocide. You've probably heard of Stalin's starvation of the Ukrainians, and the atrocities committed by the European empires in Africa. You've definitely heard of the Holocaust.

Yet chances are you've never heard of the Assyrian genocide, even though this was just as brutal and costly. It was perpetrated alongside the Armenian massacre, yet only one of the twin programmes has lived on in infamy.

The Assyrian genocide occurred 100 years ago, and decimated a people whose territory stretched from the areas now known as Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Egypt. Today, this very same area is the world's fiercest conflict zone, the wounds which opened a century ago showing no sign of healing.

Which makes it all the more important that we remember the horrors inflicted on the Assyrians all those years ago.

Ethnic cleansing

Historians today describe the Assyrian Genocide as a programme of extermination carried out by the Ottoman Empire upon the Chaldean, Syriac and Assyrian populations. All three peoples were Christian, and the Ottomans attempted to wipe them out during a wider ethnic cleansing campaign, which also included the Armenian and Greek genocides.

The Assyrian extermination campaign actually lasted from 1914 to 1923, Turkey's rulers carrying on the killing long after their empire had been dismantled. The death toll varies depending which historical scholar or record you consult.

"Estimates on the overall death toll vary, with some contemporary reports placing the figure at 270,000, and estimates range to as many as 750,000," reported Dr. Israel W. Charny, the editor of two-volume Encyclopedia of Genocide and executive director of the Institute on the Holocaust and Genocide.

Charny groups the Assyrian Genocide together with the massacre of Greeks and Armenians in a "Christian Holocaust", which he claims was "the precursor to the Jewish Holocaust in WWII."
"To this day, the Turkish government ostensibly denies having committed this genocide" Charny adds.

Ottoman Jihad against native Christian populations

Sabri Atman, who is also one of the most well-known lecturers on the Assyrian Genocide, said in an interview with the Armenian Weekly this year that the Ottoman Empire was bent on "ethnically annihilating all non-Muslim citizens living under the Ottoman occupation, with the objective of homogenising Turkey in accordance with their goal to create a nation of 'One Religion'.

"Their motto was 'One Nation, One Religion.' To achieve their goal, jihad (or holy war) was declared on Nov. 14, 1914 in all of the Ottoman mosques... The main plot was to get rid of all the Christian minorities of Turkey,."

Atman added that "Denial is a form of continuation of the genocide. It is to be killed twice."

Hannibal Travis, a Professor of Law at Florida International University, wrote an article on the Assyrian Genocide in 2006, suggesting that "the Ottoman Empire's widespread persecution of Assyrian civilians during World War I constituted a form of genocide... a deliberate and systematic campaign of massacre, torture, abduction, deportation, impoverishment, and cultural and ethnic destruction.

"Established principles of international law outlawed this war of extermination against Ottoman Christian civilians before it was embarked upon, and ample evidence of genocidal intent has surfaced in the form of admissions by Ottoman officials.

"Nevertheless, the international community has been hesitant to recognize the Assyrian experience as a form of genocide."

Finally, a monument

An Assyrian genocide monument, in memory of the Assyrian victims of the Christian genocide of the Ottoman Empire during World War One, was erected on 19 October in Athens. The monument's opening was attended by Kyriakos Betsaras, the president of the Assyrian Union of Greece,  as well as the current and former Mayors of Athens.

Assyrian Monument vandalised in Sydney, Australia in 2101.
Sabri Atman spoke at the ceremony, called on "Turkey and all nations around the world to recognise this historical reality," adding: "In recent years, Assyrians have been working diligently towards greater public awareness and worldwide recognition of the Assyrian Genocide.

"The ethnic extermination of hundreds of thousands of our people and the destruction of our lands forever changed the demographics of the area we called home for thousands of years. We Assyrians standing here today are the children of a nation which was almost completely eliminated from the face of the earth," he said.

"I'm also proud to stand in front of you today knowing that over 20 countries have officially recognized the Armenian Genocide. It is my hope that in the future, countries will continue to follow in this pattern, and will also include the recognition of Assyrians and Greeks as victims of the same Genocide."

Monuments commemorating the victims of the Assyrian genocide have also been erected in Sweden, Belgium, France, Armenia, Australia, Wales and the United States. Whether Turkey follows suit, however, remains to be seen.

Papal Bull

Pope Francis has issued a Papal Bull, Misericordiae Vultus proclaiming a Year of Mercy. Amongst the paragraphs is this:

18. During Lent of this Holy Year, I intend to send out Missionaries of Mercy. They will be a sign of the Church’s maternal solicitude for the People of God, enabling them to enter the profound richness of this mystery so fundamental to the faith. There will be priests to whom I will grant the authority to pardon even those sins reserved to the Holy See, so that the breadth of their mandate as confessors will be even clearer. They will be, above all, living signs of the Father’s readiness to welcome those in search of his pardon. They will be missionaries of mercy because they will be facilitators of a truly human encounter, a source of liberation, rich with responsibility for overcoming obstacles and taking up the new life of Baptism again. They will be led in their mission by the words of the Apostle: “For God has consigned all men to disobedience, that he may have mercy upon all” (Rom 11:32). Everyone, in fact, without exception, is called to embrace the call to mercy. May these Missionaries live this call with the assurance that they can fix their eyes on Jesus, “the merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God” (Heb 2:17).

Rorate Caeli blog has listed those crimes or sins in the Code of Canon Law reserved for the Holy See:

Can. 1367. A person who throws away the consecrated species or takes or retains them for a sacrilegious purpose incurs a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See; moreover, a cleric can be punished with another penalty, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state.

Can. 1370 §1. A person who uses physical force against the Roman Pontiff incurs a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See; if he is a cleric, another penalty, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state, can be added according to the gravity of the delict.

Can. 1378 §1. A priest who acts against the prescript of can. 977 incurs a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See. (Can.  977. The absolution of an accomplice in a sin against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue is invalid except in danger of death.)

Can. 1382 A bishop who consecrates someone a bishop without a pontifical mandate and the person who receives the consecration from him incur a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See.

Can. 1388 §1. A confessor who directly violates the sacramental seal incurs a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See; one who does so only indirectly is to be punished according to the gravity of the delict.

To these may be added a sixth offense, by virtue of a decree of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith dated December 19, 2007:

Without prejudice to the prescript of can. 1378 of the Code of Canon Law, both the one who attempts to confer a sacred order on a woman, and the woman who attempts to receive a sacred order, incur an excommunication latae sententiae reserved to the Apostolic See.

If, in fact, the one who attempts to confer a sacred order on a woman, or the woman who attempts to receive a sacred order, is one of Christ’s faithful subject to the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches, that person, without prejudice to the prescript of can. 1443 of the same Code, is to be punished with a major excommunication, the remission of which is also reserved to the Apostolic See (cf. can. 1423, Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches).

* * *

We can agree that there are many abuses of the Holy Eucharist. Punching a pope has not been an issue lately. There really are not that many situations of the conferral of a sacred order on a woman (impossible regardless). We hope all will be forgiven and we see a welcoming home of the SSPX bishops.

Seriously? These Missionaries of Mercy are going to travel the world for these?

On the surface, this looks pretty ridiculous with all this fuss and talk of mercy for these relatively few situations that by and large do not even affect the laity other than those who may defame the Holy Eucharist or the few women who try to become ordained priests.

What am I missing; or do I already know?

I suspect that one of the tasks of these flying Missionaries of Mercy will be to override the established Canonical process of annulments as a way of getting around the doctrine of the indissolubility of marriage and provide easy and blanket annulments. "See," they will say. "We have not changed doctrine."

What else will these Missionaries of Mercy undertake?

Quasimodo

As Father Z writes, this Sunday has many nicknames. It is liturgically called the Second Sunday of Easter in the Missal of 1970, the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite and in the traditional liturgy, the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite it is the First Sunday After Easter. It is also known of course as Divine Mercy Sunday after the request by Our Lord through St. Faustina and proclaimed as such by St. John Paul II in 2000. It has also been called in the traditional rite Low Sunday in contrast to previous weekend. I've never liked this term or the term "Low Mass" (Missa Lecta or Read Mass is more appropriate) No Sunday and no Mass, can be "low." Also in the traditional rite, it has been known as White Sunday or Missa in Albis for the catechumens who would have come to Mass today and then put away there white robes or albs, which they'd worn since their baptism on Holy Saturday.

And yet, there is another name and it comes from the Introit or Entrance Antiphon of the Mass in both Forms -- Quasi modo Sunday. "In the same manner as newborn babes long for the rational milk without guile..." from the First Letter of St. Peter 2:2.

How unfortunate that in the Ordinary Form of the Mass, the opening hymn or song was not Quasi modo but some other non-liturgical text. Here is hoping that it was at least edifying such as Christ the Lord is Risen Today or At the Lamb's High Feast We Sing. Regardless, the loss of the liturgical texts in the practical use of the Missal of 1970 remain a stumbling block to the Mass properly being said or sung, notwithstanding the GIRM's permission to substitute based on the disastrous 1967 document, Musicam Sacram. Gradual solemnity had merit, the rubrics of the traditional Missal are very restrictive, but this document went much too far with the allowance to substitute the Proper of the Mass, Introit, Offertorium and Communion with hymns. This has been a liturgical disaster that we will never recover from until it is revoked. This antiphon is in the Altar Missal and it is in the various permanent or disposable pew missals. It is in the official chant book for the 1970 Missal the 1974 Graduale Romanum and in various English offerings such as the Simple English Propers. There is an Offertory Antiphon as well for the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite. It was only a few months ago when in a conversation about the Simple English Propers after a Mass with a Bishop, I was asked what "that" was as he pointed to the Offertory Antiphon. Perhaps that is best left for another post.

There is one more little tidbit about today which you can read below. It comes from the quill of Victor Hugo for it was on this day, the First Sunday After Easter or Quasimodo Sunday that he found the deformed creature and thus the poor boy received his name.

Sixteen years previous to the epoch when this story takes place, one fine morning, on Quasimodo Sunday, a living creature had been deposited, after Mass, in the church of Notre- Dame, on the wooden bed securely fixed in the vestibule on the left, opposite that great image of Saint Christopher, which the figure of Messire Antoine des Essarts, chevalier, carved in stone, had been gazing at on his knees since 1413, when they took it into their heads to overthrow the saint and the faithful follower. Upon this bed of wood it was customary to expose foundlings for public charity. Whoever cared to take them did so. In front of the wooden bed was a copper basin for alms.

The sort of living being which lay upon that plank on the morning of Quasimodo, in the year of the Lord, 1467, appeared to excite to a high degree, the curiosity of the numerous group which had congregated about the wooden bed. The group was formed for the most part of the fair sex. Hardly any one was there except old women.

In the first row, and among those who were most bent over the bed, four were noticeable, who, from their gray cagoule, a sort of cassock, were recognizable as attached to some devout sisterhood. I do not see why history has not transmitted to posterity the names of these four discreet and venerable damsels. They were Agnes la Herme, Jehanne de la Tarme, Henriette la Gaultière, Gauchère la Violette, all four widows, all four dames of the Chapel Etienne Haudry, who had quitted their house with the permission of their mistress, and in conformity with the statutes of Pierre d'Ailly, in order to come and hear the sermon.

However, if these good Haudriettes were, for the moment, complying with the statutes of Pierre d'Ailly, they certainly violated with joy those of Michel de Brache, and the Cardinal of Pisa, which so inhumanly enjoined silence upon them.

"What is this, sister?" said Agnes to Gauchère, gazing at the little creature exposed, which was screaming and writhing on the wooden bed, terrified by so many glances.

"What is to become of us," said Jehanne, "if that is the way children are made now?"

"I'm not learned in the matter of children," resumed Agnes, "but it must be a sin to look at this one."

Catholic Teacher Patricia Jannuzzi reinstated!

Patricia Jannuzzi, the Catholic Teacher fired for stating her views on the homosexualist agenda has been reinstated by Immaculata High School.

Congratulations to Mrs. Jannuzzi!

Bishop Bootkoski, the Monsignor Pastor and the School Administration committed a grievous act against Mrs. Jannuzzi. They were wrong and they can't wiggle out of it no matter how they try in this letter.  Had Mrs. Jannuzzi's family not gone public with the injustice these cowardly so-called Catholic leaders would have not backed down and she would have been unemployed in August. She was able to raise the funds for a lawyer no doubt and John and Mary Catholic were able to voice their condemnation of the deceitful manner with which she was treated. Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund trial attorney Charles LiMandri provided extensive legal advice to Patricia Jannuzzi, and assisted her local counsel David Oakley, in achieving a mutually satisfactory resolution of this matter.

Monsignor blames the medial and presumably, bloggers for being "hurtful." The letter also mentions "theology" numerous times insisting that the matter was not "theological."

As I found out in my own recent situation with a clerical bully, we must stick together when these clericalists attempt to silence us and the new gestapo, or gaystapo, comes at us.

Thanks be to God for this victory and for justice.

Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund - "Obama's Call to Ban Therapy would violate Constitutional Rights!"

Banner

Following the post below on the situation regarding JONAH, I have heard from Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of FCDF. Coincidentally, the American President has threatened just in the last day, those who counsel individuals with same-sex attraction. Far be it from the current President of the United States to uphold the Constitution. After all, he has a pen and a phone.

Here is their press release:

Obama's Call to Ban Counseling Therapy would
Violate Constitutional Rights

Refusal to recognize the rights of Americans to seek help is nothing new, but in this case it is also unconstitutional

Rancho Santa Fe, California – Today, President Obama injected his views into the personal decisions of private individuals seeking counseling, calling for a ban on conversion therapy for minors.

“President Obama and politicians in Washington have no place prohibiting teens and parents across America from seeking counseling. Dictates from Washington that prevent free people from exercising their First Amendment rights to make these personal decisions without government interference are repulsive,” said Maggie Gallagher, Chairman of the Board of Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund.

The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund will defend these First Amendment rights in court this summer by defending JONAH (Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing), a Jewish group which helps those who deal with unwanted same-sex attractions by providing a community with educational outreach services, including counseling referrals, for affected individuals and their families.

“Seeking counseling is a very private and personal decision people make and coercive tactics to shut down all alternatives for people with same-sex attraction is simply wrong. The President’s refusal to recognize the rights of Americans to seek help is nothing new, but in this case it is also unconstitutional,”  Gallagher noted.

The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund is a nonprofit, public-interest law firm which defends the conscience rights and religious freedom of those of all faiths and no faith. The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund's mission is to defend religious freedom by providing protective legal services at the trial level to persons whose religious liberty and free-speech rights have been attacked. Located in San Diego and led by experienced trial attorney Charles LiMandri, FCDF assists individuals and organizations nationwide with pro bono services.
