It is also telling that he had to literally tell us that his encyclical "is now added to the body of the Church’s social teaching," as if trying to mold his opinions into tradition.
What pope has ever had to say such a thing in an encyclical? It's comical.

The use of "I" instead of the royal "We" shows that this is his baby and his opinions. For those who blame the advisers instead of the man holding the office, shame on you.cenlacatholicnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-79999738503748592592015-06-21T14:34:45.561-04:002015-06-21T14:34:45.561-04:00Yes, Vox, to be charitable one would HOPE that he ...Yes, Vox, to be charitable one would HOPE that he has been duped by, let's say, men with an evil agenda. That said, he did not read carefully what was written in one of his most important 'Encyclicals' even if by several different 'ghost writers'? Maybe ESPECIALLY if written by others? He put his seal on it, which indicates he OWNS it. If you read this thing carefully, it appears to be pagan earth worship. I really don't know how people can see 'Catholic social teaching' in this except for maybe a few scattered statements on abortion and population control of which you would have to scour the thing with a magnifying glass to find. Yes, we are to respect the environment, but not to the point of mystically uniting ourselves with birds, trees, etc. I don't know whether to be embarrassed or terrified.TLMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16185788425122984772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-36609838764329414182015-06-21T13:14:35.892-04:002015-06-21T13:14:35.892-04:00Fr. That is not what Our Lord said.

This pope and this writing (by him and a number of other 'experts') is lauded by progressives, dissenters, heretics, atheists, the president of the US (who has overseen persecution of the Catholic Church), pagans, etc. And many faithful Catholics who do know the age old teachings of the Church are appalled. Hi...In regard to the persecutions of Christians...

His Holiness Pope Francis has spoken time and again in loud and clear fashion on behalf of the world's persecuted Christians. Pope Francis has exhorted the United Nations to come to the aid of persecuted Christians.

Pope Francis' comments and exhortations in that regard have received tremendous international news media coverage.

Pope Francis has not hesitated to note that Islamic forces are behind much of the persecution directed at today's persecuted Christians.

Pope Francis even drew the ire of Moslems, which he knew that he would, when he called attention to the Armenian Genocide.

Let us note that Pope Francis has shouted from the rooftops that the persecutions of Christians must cease...that the world must rescue persecuted Christians.

Mark ThomasMarknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-20655542951941507482015-06-20T21:21:42.874-04:002015-06-20T21:21:42.874-04:00What is wrong with Father Barron? Science by definition changes. The Magisterium does not. Pope John Paul II supported Polands entry into the UE. He was wrong then, and he is even more wrong now. I opposed his position from day one. Poland is now being destroyed by the EU. The Pope was wrong. But, his position was not on Faith or morals. I would recommend to you Anonymous 2:21, a viewing of Fr. Paul Nicholson's analysis of the encyclical.
