And there were U.S. bishops who acknowledged it as well.

It is a travesty of monumental proportions. The Church militant is in a mess right now.DJRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18028761850444888285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-52528915330858573292016-08-10T16:37:07.649-04:002016-08-10T16:37:07.649-04:00Extremely disturbing. This is not merely a diplom...Extremely disturbing. This is not merely a diplomatic arrangement -- it subjugates the Church to an atheistic and philosophically hostile foreign government.

On a broader level, it betrays the principle of freedom of religion, both for the Institution and the individual (every Chinese Christian). It gives justification, in the name of political cooperation, to Church support for the goals of a secular society and state.

Sounds theoretical? Just imagine if the government of the United States had such an agreement? Imagine the appointments of bishops Burke, Poprocki, Vasa, Cordeleone, Jenky, or Sample having to be "accepted" by the Obama administration? Would the Church even be able to consecrate an authentic pro-life, conservative or traditional bishop?

Seems impossible? China will set a precedent for Church dominance by a large and prosperous nation. The USA is already a "post-christian" nation. Our government has already outlawed matrimony, enshrined abortion, and embraced socialism. Every year the masses "believe" more completely in State as the new god. Orwell's 1984 has come and gone; one reason most folks don't know they are not actually free is ours is a "soft" totalitarianism.

In this milieu, why not create more "efficiency" and "harmony" in international relations by "streamlining" the hierarchy with a "mutual understanding" between DC and Rome? Think of the wonderful visions of world peace to be painted for the masses by CNN experts and NYT columnists as this "bold new idea" catches on?

If the RCC will just "modernize" a bit and get with this "innovative" Parolin process, it will show the pope is a "real player" on the "world stage"! It's the best 21st century way to "cooperate" to eliminate poverty, expand inclusiveness, and stop global warming!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-69317556633091857662016-08-09T19:37:56.917-04:002016-08-09T19:37:56.917-04:00https://www.romancatholicman.com/things-accelerate...https://www.romancatholicman.com/things-accelerate-toward-the-end-prophecy-of-archbishop-fulton-sheen/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-49702467303257922642016-01-17T20:01:30.612-05:002016-01-17T20:01:30.612-05:00This is why we need the revelation of the Third Se...This is why we need the revelation of the Third Secret of Fatima (I.e., the exact words of Our Lady which follow "In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved...) - so that Ostpolitik and the liberalism which has dominated the Church for the past 50+ years will finally come to an end.

St. Josaphat, Martyr of the Holy Union, pray for us!
All you Holy Martyrs of Ukraine and China, pray for us!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-81127805684977353682015-03-28T09:15:26.742-04:002015-03-28T09:15:26.742-04:00I can't say I'm surprised. Not long ago around the time of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall the Secretariat of State was still trying to take credit for the end of communism.

Interestingly, even when JPII was by then old and sick with Parkinson's, the Chinese government were still so scared of him that they wouldn't let him in the country.Cdn Catholicnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-47284526033183904012015-03-27T17:16:30.364-04:002015-03-27T17:16:30.364-04:00The humble pope might just desire to save the worl...The humble pope might just desire to save the world with peace and friendship of all with all. Some will have to be re-educated with the new and improved concepts of tolerance and mercy - for the good of the collective and mother earth. Jesus Christ might have to become a wise teacher, not God. We might become our own gods, and we might democratically overthrow God's Word by conducting surveys and going with the voice of the majority. Let us remember - the real numbers don't matter. What matters is who counts the votes. Dorotanoreply@blogger.com
