Far be it from me to deny any priest a drink of Stolichnaya or Bailey's or Grande Marnier. Heck, one was over for dinner on Tuesday night, and he enjoyed some Rose in the gardent before dinner with Fox and I and then a nice bottle of Monasterio with the barbecued lamb.
But when one considers the volume on that bar, the picture over it, the suffering of Catholics in the Middle East and the distress at the state of the crisis which we have found ourselves in due to these men, I have a hard time showing any sympathy to these two.
Cocaine parties.
Homosexual orgies.
Appointing of pro-abortionists to commissions.
Here we have a priest and cardinal, both confidants of the Bishop of Rome appearing in a photo showing complete disregard for the state of the world but rejoicing in the lap of luxury.
The scandal is caused by those who scandalise, not by those who report it.

Obviously not practicing what they preach. It now costs around 400 euro or more to leave the remains of a deceased relative overnight in a Catholic Church ,it's gotten to the stage that many struggling families can no longer afford to do it ,and have the remains brought from the funeral parlour or mortuary to the Church on the morning of the funeral. It seems there is now a fixed price on funerals and marriage ,regardless of means ,which for those claiming to speak for the poor is totally unacceptable.
You are 100% Correct Vox, whoever complained about your post should be complaining about these two clowns instead, they should be spreading the word about the Judas's in the church, we need to get the filth out! The bible exposed Judas and we should expose those who are following in his footsteps! The truth can sometimes be ugly but the truth is the truth and everyone has a right to know the truth. It is these so called men that have caused scandal, not your blog.... Soldier on Vox, we have you covered in prayer!
Seriously, who's the snowflake who was actually scandalized by Vox's post? Are you for real? Maybe open your eyes to what's going in the Church and the world and be a bit more scandalized about that instead.
Two things.
I'm glad to know they're reading what you (and we) write.
And I'm glad you left the article and picture up.
Oh, and since you are reading these comments - when you repent, return to the Lord and truly begin serving Him, you won't have to worry about negative posts and comments. Not from the faithful, anyway.
Vox, You did well. I was offended by the overly cozy teddy bear hug and the golly gee whiz smiles. They need therapy.
Hi. If I may: the proper spelling is "Filipino", not Philipino. Thank you.
Your perspective is right on the money, Vox.
Don't back off one inch from this.
They are the focus. They are the arch-criminals.
Let them attempt to explain themselves to the rest of us.
No apologies to the enemies of the Holy Faith.
AMEN!!!
As they party over the bruised, battered Church (thanks to the beating from within, from them), we should protect their image? It is the same reasoning that has led us to the paedophilia nightmare.
It is good that you expose them, Vox.
Doubt if there is any "sheep smell" around. Hopefully the empties are recycled. Is this the "poorer church" that the Pope wanted?
Italy has very high unemployment at 12%; major social unrest with in excess of 350,000 "migrants" coming since 2015. Rising crime, street violence as a result.... Italy is not a good place to live.
The Philippines has a massive poverty problem I understand over 30,000,000 live in some form of poverty.
This photograph should be particularly offensive to Italians and Filipinos.
Vox,
You should not be responding to snowflakes who are offended.
You should not have moderated your position.
There is a long fight ahead to take bergoglio down.
Slowly but surely our kind of blogs are being picked up by Brietbart and the Spectator - eventually by Drudge and Fox News and then there will by an Overton Window moment - and conservative media will openly and casually attack Bergoglio day after day like like they do any politician and then.... because 'clericalcraft' is hypersensitive to 'scandal' like a witch to water... then, I say, then.... we win.
The tender feeling of the politically correct are always subject to harm, or more accurately, intended for harm. Truth has no place in their lives. To harm them Vox is to do them a service. It is a charitable act to alert folks to their inherent narcissism and fatuity.
The picture IS offensive. That's the point. The well-stocked bar, looking like something out of the set of Mad Men, is bad enough, but there's also Cardinal Taglia in a not very clerical short-sleeved tourist shirt, the weirdly enthusiastic grins, the two heads touching and so on. It perfectly encapsulates the frivolity and decadence of the current Church.
Seriously, some fool is offended by what you posted! The time for worrying over some snowflakes feelings are over. When peters pence comes around they will get a nickle from me in the envelope, if they are lucky.
That pic is chock full of gay....
I could NEVER afford THAT quality or quantity of alcohol...period. Yeah, they don't smell of sheep, they smell of Kahlua!
You are absolutely correct, Vox; don't back down an inch. The picture is just the last straw. It is the Last Supper, not the "last call." What they need to worry about is the Lord saying; " It's time, Gentlemen."
It's a typical....attack the messenger and not THE MESSAGE. Those faithful who REPORT this atrocity are the ones causing the scandal??!! I'm sorry, but the more light you shine on these cockroaches the more they will scatter. As others have said......Continue on Vox! You and all the faithful courageous bloggers are in our prayers!! Not to worry, Jesus through His Mother have your back!!
I'm noting this phenomenon lately, and it really grates. I think this tends to be ladies doing the complaining, and in my mind, this is why women should probably step back from battles, because the tendency is to want to be "nice" or "polite" and refrain from anything confrontational at all. That is one reason our church is going down the tubes frankly, too much "niceness". If we had had more up-front discussions and complaints directly made we probably wouldn't be where we are now. They aren't seeing the big picture at all. This is not a help. Vox I completely support the photo and comments. My God, these men are literally destroying the faith and we're going to quibble about comments or the photo? Oy.
Kathleen! These pantywastes in (or out of clerics, as shown) cry and whine more than the women do these days!!! Talk about effeminate! We don't want to hurt anyone's feeling so let them all receive the Body and Blood of Christ - so what if they're flaunting mortal sin. Let's just all be happy in our sin on the way to non-existent hell.
What pansies.
@Paul Morphy,
The photograph shows what it shows.
Presumably those in the photograph consented to their photograph being taken.
That being the case therefore, they can't have any justifiable reason to complain about the commentary concerning the photograph.
Keep up the good work, Vox.
There are good and bad ways of offending people.
You offended me in the best way possible: by showing how people are STILL walking over our Lord and Saviour.
If you offend others in the bad way, so be it. Let them be offended.
Keep it up.
I thouroughly agree with you. Men embrace for a photo, but not like that. People have liquor, various brands and qualities, but they should be stored away discreetly and not displayed as in a liquor store. In any case, the number of bottles is excessive for someone who wishes to offer a drink before or after dinner to guests. This looks likes a bar... Also, the Filipine Cardinal is considered a serious candidate for the papacy. How tragic the entire scenario has become in the Church.
