Bergoglio legalises women to be Instituted Lectors and Acolytes

Giving yet one more reason to abandon the Novus Ordo Missae, its errors and the culture which has formed it and which it continues to form for tradition, Bishop of Rome, Francis, has today formerly permitted women to be Instituted Lectors and Acolytes.

For those unaware, a little history. Prior to 1973 there were two orders on the path to ordination in religious orders and seminaries. These were the minor orders of Porter, Lector, Exorcist and Acolyte known as the Minor Orders and Subdeacon, Deacon and Priest, known as the Major Orders. At one time, these minor orders were not just reserved to those on the path to the priesthood but were open to laymen as servants of the Mass, particularly Lector, to sing the Old Testament Lessons, never the Epistle (Subdeacon) and to serve as Acoyte - to bear the candles, the cross was carried by the Subdeacon. In 1973, Paul VI eliminated these to be replaced by Lector and Acolyte for seminarians but also again for laymen. Other than the Diocese of Lincoln and at one time in LaCrosse and in the odd and rare situation for a layman to support the liturgy in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, no bishop that I know of ever made wide use of the provision for an Instituted Lector or Acolyte. No doubt because it could no include women and an Instituted man would displace Susan from the Parish Council reading at Mass. Don't even get me started on Serviettes - Girl Altar Boys.

Today, Jorge Bergoglio has changed all that. If he were ever truly interested in instituting the laity in this manner why did he not do it in Buenos Aires.

This is about sowing seeds and tearing down.

A few days ago, a priest said to me, "They are trying to build a new church."

Indeed they are.

One more thing.

With the tragic situation in Italy and the world brought about by germ warfare unleashed upon the world by communist China, with all the unemployment, the loss of business, the loss of life, the depression, suicide, alcoholism and more, this is what Bergoglio focuses on.

Nothing this writer writes will change his mind. Nothing will move him. It does not matter. We must always speak truth to power. We must never submit to these evil men. The man is not your friend, nor mine. He is no friend of Christ.

Fifty years of Novus Ordo garbage

Two week ago, I attended my first Novus Ordo Mass in over two years. A friend was being ordained to the transitional diaconate. I could have done without the serviettes in the sanctuary and the Cardinal's jokes, but other than that, it was tolerable.

When I think back to my childhood and my memories of Mass, I can recall in my mind's eye, six candles lit on the altar at the principal Mass which we always attended (there were maybe five in total) and maybe the Kyrie and Sanctus were sung, but that was it. It was a essentially a Read, or Low Mass with some music sprinkled here and there. Everyone knelt all the time and some had hand missals, my parents certainly did. One Sunday, there was a plywood table covered in one cloth and two stubby candles in the sanctuary and poor Father Michael Carroll, a good and saintly man, looked totally flummoxed. I can remember my mother saying, "Well, this is Vatican II." She didn't like it. That was 1965 and I was nine years old. Two years later, at the first class for the new crop of Altar Boys, we were told, "Congratulations Boys, you're the first class that does not need to learn Latin!"

southern orders : WAS THIS MASS BY BLESSED POPE PAUL VI ...

This was the interim 1965 Missal which was the already slimmed down 1962 but in the vernacular up to the Offertory from then on, it was still Latin. The Prayers at the Foot of the Altar were shortened as in the Requiem, without the Judica Me and could be eliminated if one did the Asperges. The Epistle could be read by a layman (man!), there were fewer genuflections and crosses by the priest, the priest now said, "The Body of Christ" and we responded, "Amen" and the Last Gospel was gone. From there it was downhill. By 1967, Latin was gone, the music was atrocious and every week there was something new. We were told this was the New Mass. We did not know we were yet to get a New, New Mass.

By the time November 30, 1969 came, nobody really noticed. There were so many innovations from 1967 on that it was brought in my stealth. The only difference were the readings and some new "Eucharistic Prayers." The chaos blinded us all.

Nobody asked for this - the laity did not demand it.

If there was a problem, it was the ever-present Sunday and Feast Day Read or Low Mass, but that is for a different post and maybe a series.

The Novus Ordo liturgy of Montini has been a disaster for the faith. There is not one thing good which can be said about it but if you can try, please do, in the combox.

Please dear reader, abandon it, if you can. Find the traditional Mass, diocesan, FSSP. ICRSS, SSPX, drive as far as you must.

And read this and note the quotes from the alleged Saint, Montini, and tell me you don't here Bergoglio!

Goodbye, "Humanae Vitae." Francis Liberalizes the Pill

Well Bishops?

Is this enough?

If not, what will be?

Goodbye, "Humanae Vitae." Francis Liberalizes the Pill

Chiodi
*
Goodbye, “Humanae Vitae.” Half a century later, the encyclical against artificial methods of birth control that marked the most dramatic moment of the pontificate of Paul VI, rejected by entire episcopates, contested by countless theologians, disobeyed by myriads of faithful, is now giving way to a radical reinterpretation, to a “paradigm shift” undoubtedly desired and encouraged by Pope Francis himself.
Paradox would have it that Paul VI should be the pope whom Jorge Mario Bergoglio admires and praises the most. And precisely - his own words - for the “prophetic brilliance” with which he wrote that encyclical and for his “courage in standing up against the majority, in defending moral discipline, in applying a cultural brake, in opposing neo-Malthusianism present and future.”
But the reality is that “everything depends on how ‘Humanae Vitae’ is interpreted,” as Pope Francis never fails to comment. Because “the question is not that of changing doctrine, but of digging deep and making sure that pastoral practice takes into account the situations and what persons are able to do.”

Paul VI to be canonised a Saint? Oh come on now, you knew this was going to happen.

Image result for paul vi villaThey waited.

They waited until Father Luigi Villa died before announcing his beatification.

The man who presided over the destructive implementation of the Second Vatican Council from which I cannot honestly say that one good thing has come, is about to be canonised as a Saint. If you can list one thing good from Vatican II, please list it in the combox.

When this destroyer of the Church was beatified over an alleged miracle that a baby was born without amniotic fluid, I stated then that it was a fraud. Yes, it is "miraculous" that a baby can be born without amniotic fluid, but it is hardly a "MIRACLE" on an individual basis. It is not something which cannot be medically or scientifically explained.

Look it up.

This filthy Berogolian regime will stop at nothing to make a mockery of the Church, Her mission, and Her Saints.

It started under John Paul II with the "make a saint" machine and it continues. They have now opened the cause for Albino Luciani, whom they state was not murdered. Perhaps out of all the Vatican II Pope "Saints" he may be the only one.

So, we are to believe that every Pope since 1958 has become a Saint? No Pius XII? No Leo XIII?

This boil on the Seat of Peter can declare Giovanni Montini Santa Clause, it won't make it so.

What a fraud.

Pope Paul VI set for sainthood, miracle identified

Medical doctors and Vatican theologians have given the green light. The newspaper of the diocese of Brescia: what better opportunity than the October 2018 synod?

Pope Paul VI

VATICAN CITY
Pope Paul VI, beatified in 2014 by Pope Francis, a step towards sanctification.

In a special issue entitled “It will be the year of Paul VI Saint”, the weekly magazine of the diocese of Brescia, La voce del popolo, writes that on 13 December, theologians of the Vatican Congregation for the Causes of Saints recognized a miracle attributed to the intercession of Pope Montini, after a first free go-ahead had been given by the medical consultation of the Vatican Congregation itself. At this point it is necessary that the cardinals of the Congregation and, finally, the Pope express themselves on the same miracle.

The miracle regards the birth of a girl from Verona called Amanda, who in 2014 had survived for months despite the fact the placenta was broken.
Pope Francis beatified his predecessor on 19 October 2014, concluding the extraordinary Synod of Bishops on the Family.

“Rumors are so insistent and the next steps so fast to take, that everything indicates 2018 as Blessed Paul VI’s canonization year”, writes the diocesan newspaper of Brescia. The last official stage took place last December 13 in the theological commission. The miracle attributed to the intercession of John Baptist Montini about the healing of a fetus in prenatal age in 2014 was approved. The expectant mother native from Verona, at risk of miscarriage, a few days after the beatification of Montini in Brescia, went to the Sanctuary “delle Grazie”, to pray to the newly beatified Pope.

Subsequently, a child in good health was born. After the doctors and theologians’ recognition, there are still a few more steps to be taken: the passage in the commission of cardinals, the final approval of the Pope and that of the Consistory with the official announcement and the definition of the date. But at this point, it is more than a hope. The month of October could be the right one. From 3 to 28 October in Rome, the 15th Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on young people will be celebrated and will gather in the Vatican prelates from all over the world. What better opportunity to canonize in front of such a large portion of the College of Bishops, the other pontiff, after Saint John XXIII of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council? It will most likely take place on one of the first three Sundays of October, even if the most accredited date today seems to be the 21. Indeed, sooner or later, in 2018 Paul VI will be Saint! We praise the Lord to Whom we entrust the year that will come”.

Giovanni Battista Montini to be a Saint?

Reports out of Rome are that a second "miracle" is being attributed to Paul VI thus opening now the pathway for his canonisation.

Look, the Saint Machine is considered "infallible."

Yet.

He presided over the "self-demolition" and opened the door for the "smoke of Satan" and one encyclical does not erase the damage this man did to the Catholic Church.

“Whatever You Can Do to Stop Communion in the Hand Will be Blessed by God” ~ Fr. John Hardon S.J.

It has been my practice for many years now, when attending the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite, and receiving Holy Communion, I neither approach a layperson, nor do I receive in the hand from a priest. I only go to a priest, or deacon; and I only receive on the tongue. I say this not to exalt myself in any way but to express my coming around to the grave error of receiving Our Blessed Lord in the hand.

A priest friend on Facebook recently had a post about how to cause a war amongst Catholics and his comment referred to opening the debate on the topic. It was about communion in ht hand. There were hundreds of posts and it got heated. The ignorance of Catholic laity is mind-boggling. The deceit on how it was came to be is tragic.

It goes without saying that it was an abuse. It began in Belgium and Holland and rather than suppress it, Pope Paul VI allowed it where it had already occurred. From that point in 1969, it took nearly a decade for it to become a reality in the United States after the late Cardinal Bernardin was able to finally achieve his goal of seeing it come into force through manipulation and dissent from the wishes of Paul VI. Sadly, it become the norm in Canada in 1969 only days after South Africa which was the first country outside of Holland and Belgium to manipulate Memoriale Domini to permit this.

I want to be clear. This is not a judgement on my part of any priest who provides Communion in the hand to the faithful, nor to those who receive in that manner. The Law of the Church permits it. It cannot in any way be considered a sin on the part of the priest or the communicant as it is permitted by the Church. It is legal; but it is not right and that is a different matter.

It is up to each of us to stop this practice; but know this, it cannot come from the priest. Any priest who would refuse to give the Holy Eucharist in the hand would be violating the communicants right to determine how they receive and would incur the wrath of his bishop. It is however, within the power of the laity, you and me, to fix this. Think about it. You can change this practice which was never asked for by the faithful. You can change it for the whole Church. You, and you and you and you -- one person at a time. Remember the example of our beloved Benedict influenced to this no doubt by Bishop Athanasius Schneider Look even at the example of Pope Francis and the effort at St. Peter's to control the practice.

The day is coming when it will be banned and recognised that it was nothing less than an abomination and condemned as an error in which the great majority of Catholics whom unbeknownst to them,  have taken part. May we be forgiven.

There is this most excellent post by John Andrew Dorsey at Church Militant Blog and this from Catholic Insight which I encourage you to read. In the article by Dorsey, he comments about the middle-east tradition of placing a morsel of food in the mouth of the guest at dinner. He shows this iconography on the book cover to highlight the point. I can attest to this being of Lebanese ancestry. It was very common for our dear mother, particularly with that delicious raw Kibbeh, to call us to the kitchen and she would place a little morsel in our mouths before dinner. It is not far-fetched to conclude that Our Lord at the Last Supper may have indeed performed that same act of love. As an aside, if you followed that link to the Kibbeh, we always had a fresh sprig of mint and a cross formed in it as well!
