He has at once corrected history, addressed the wrongs of the past and taught with clarity.

All of us should now hope that over time, the Ordinary Form of the Mass will improve in prayer, dignity and solemnity that has been missing in many places due to inappropriate experimentation and liturgical abuses so common and so tragic.

As priests and people not familiar with the Extraordinary Form of the Mass become familiar with it they will be infused to instill the level of prayer and solemnity elsewhere which has often gone wanting.Vox Cantorishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16987049370515084083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-46655660082772002612007-07-07T11:52:00.000-04:002007-07-07T11:52:00.000-04:00Thank-you for this posting, informing us of the Po...Thank-you for this posting, informing us of the Pope's facilitation of the free use of the Latin Mass. This is the Mass that I experienced in my youth, and I look forward to experiencing it again --- after 40 years.

I really appreciated the detailed explanation offered by the Pope in his letter --- and, most especially, its conciliatory spirit.

That the desire among so many in the Church for the use of the Latin Mass remains strong 40 years after the introduction of the Vatican II reforms is testament to the attachment to and affection for this liturgical form --- and its fundamental importance in the faith lives of so many within the Church.

The Pope's initiative in this case has been very wise; and, among other things, should contribute significantly to peace and harmony within the Church.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
