If you look on the introductory page you will see his letter. Further, he was responsible on the liturgy committee for much of the "inclusive" language in the Canadian Sacramentary and the pushing of the envelope in the Ordo.

Fortunately, Rome will correct this in the new Roman Missal and CBW IV is under way.

Yes, Raymond Lahey was destructive in many areas.Vox Cantorishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16987049370515084083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-71612021059069891132009-12-23T20:53:03.787-05:002009-12-23T20:53:03.787-05:00What are you talking about when you blame him for ...What are you talking about when you blame him for the state of the liturgy and CBW III?Ricky Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04183484998394922183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20981956.post-53448479343610005742009-12-19T20:01:11.228-05:002009-12-19T20:01:11.228-05:00Thanks for clearing that up. As for pleading guilty and all that, let's remember that he is entitled to a defense and the presumption of innocence in court. I wouldn't blame him for trying to cop a plea for the best deal he can get. The prospect of few years in prison for a seventy year old are not very enticing.

I'm more concerned about who's going to pay his legal bills. He should pay out of his own resources or go on legal aid. I'd hate to see the lay faithful of his former diocese stuck with the bill.

The fact that he's being sheltered by Bishop Prendergast temporarily is reasonable. But, assuming he's found guilty, why should we look after him in his retirement?John Vicentenoreply@blogger.com
