Don Minutella: these penalties are "medals of honor"

"Resist, Resist, Resist": CFN Exclusive Interview with Fr. Alessandro M. Minutella

https://www.catholicfamilynews.org/blog/2017/12/5/resist-resist-resist-cfn-exclusive-interview-minutella

CFN: How do you view your penalties of (de facto) suspension, or excommunications?

Don Minutella: For me these are medals of honor, like when a simple soldier carries out meritorious actions, and the commander rewards him. I hope, however, that one of the Cardinals who remain Catholic, will recognize it. I'll need this [support], even though Cardinal Burke and Cardinal Sarah have already encouraged me privately. The best spoils for the priest are souls. Saint John Bosco told Our Lord: Da mihi animas et coetera tolle! “Give me souls, and take the rest!” It is said of St. John of the Cross that Jesus appeared to him, saying: Ioanne, quid vis pro laboribus? “John, what would you like [as a reward] for your labors?” The Spanish saint responded: Domine, pati et contemni pro te, meaning “Lord, to suffer and to be despised for Thee.” It is something that I have expected since my time in the Seminary, and despite the heavy weight of suffering, I experience the supernatural joy of the Cross.

Ahhhhh...his words caress one's soul like a warm summer breeze. This is pure catholicism.

I am very heartened that Don Minutella looks upon his ongoing persecution for the True Faith as medals of honour. This is exactly what they are. He is in my prayers as are the other priests suspended by PF for refusing to give Holy Communion to unrepentant sinners & José Galat's excommunication for upholding the Faith of Our Fathers handed down to each & every one of us through persecution of one type of another. The rosaries around borders, if fully implemented worldwide, will be the answer to all this chaos. Already it has been very successful in exposing the heretics & now we look to their abolishment. Our Lady's Triumph must be near to hand. Keep close to Jesus & Mary. They will not fail us!

I truly do love and admire Cdl. Burke, but I think he is wrong to advise Don Minutella (in a Vat. 2 way) that speaking more gently the Truth will provide better results. I think that is EXACTLY what is wrong with the priesthood today! They need to speak Truth and speak it BOLDLY. We need more lions of Our Lady.

My confidence in Cardinals Burke and Sarah is shaken by the report that they have encouraged this holy priest, but "in private." Now, those who hear Don Minutella's words or consider his actions will be abandoned to confusion about how to interpret them. If Pope Francis ought to step out into the light and say where he really stands (by answering the Dubia), then the faithful members of the hierarchy should make no secret of their own convictions, either. Is there a time and a place for holding one's cards close to the vest? Yes. But in the case of the Bergoglian assault against the honor of Almighty God, that time is long past.

God bless and keep these soldiers and victims for Christ. They are standing at the frontlines with armor, we know it is difficult to do this and they will suffer for it, in ways the laity cannot even fathom. Thank you Lord, for raising up good men. This is something you have always done when the faith is under attack, and you are doing it once again.

I was thinking about this situation again, while reading about how Cardinal Burke has "condemned" the Alpha program. It deserves it. But why does His Eminence elect to use such a strong term about this parish-based fad which, while defective, doesn't come anywhere near the destructive potential of Amoris laetitia? If taking a strong rhetorical stance is somehow wrong or "unChristian" in and of itself, then why didn't he simply send a polite list of queries to the people putting Alpha out, and watch impotently as it cuts a wide swath through the parochial system until the publishers themselves deign to do something about it?
