More liturgical wars for the "bastard rite" - one more reason to leave it behind for Tradition

With a stroke of the pen, Pope Bergoglio has struck down the work of John Paul II and Benedict XVI in Liturgiam Authenticum and the Third Typical Edition of the Roman Missal.

https://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2017/09/breaking-motu-proprio-magnum-principium.html

https://www.americamagazine.org/faith/2017/09/09/breaking-pope-francis-gives-local-bishops-more-responsibility-mass-translations

No doubt, as a payback to the Germans and others who simply refuse to translate, "pro multis" as "for many" and continue to disobey the order of Benedict XVI to translate it properly, Bergoglio has thrown the matter of translations to the bishops. It would seem unlikely that the English speaking bishops, after all the time, stress and money spent since 2011 on the more correct translation of the Novus Ordo Missae, would return to the former, but they may allow it as an option. The Third Edition of the Roman Missal is still only in Latin and English. All others, to this day, use the 1974 Missal.

Make no mistake, along with the deviations allowed in Amoris Laetitia from place to place, this action by the great liturgist Bergoglio will lead to an even greater disunity within the Catholic Church.

Whether or not Bergoglio has the right to do this is not the question. It is a notorious act on the part of this man and his filthy minions. The photo below is of this Bergoglio in Colombia. Look at him, he bypasses the kneeler to stand before the Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.

How can he do this? How can this man not kneel?  Yet, Catholic modernists, as is already happening on Twitter, will overflow with effervescent praise for this divisive and destructive action on the part of this man.

It is just one more reason to abandon the bastard rite. A so-called "Mass" that is different from country to country, diocese to diocese, parish to parish and even within the parish from different priests. Notwithstanding the narrow line that makes it valid, this rotten fruit of Paul VI is unstable, it is irreligious, it is not proper worship to Almighty God, it is horizontal, man-centred, ecumenical and masonic.

This Bergoglio will not stop at this, it is only the beginning.

Get out of it and get to the traditional Mass even if that means that the only choice is the Society of St. Pius X. Your faith and that of your loved ones depends upon it.

The Anglican Ordinariate, for those lucky few who have one nearby, will also be a haven from the ceaseless churn in the Novus Ordo Church, due to its independence from the local diocese. Our Ordinariate parish is largely populated with Novus Ordo refugees seeking a beautiful and reverent Mass that offers right worship to God.

We might pray that God uses this initiative to lead faithful Catholics out of the moribund mediocrity of the Novus Ordo into a truly fitting liturgy, whether that be the Latin Mass, Divine Worship, or one of the Eastern Rites.

The NO Bishops are going to have a field day. I can see them rubbing their murky hands in glee. But remember God will not be mocked & the Day of Reckoning is approaching fast.

The question about attending an "una cum" Mass, is an important and complex one. For those interested, there was, in my opinion, a good post on the subject on the Introibo ad Altare Dei blog recently. I found the discussion and comments most informative. There are two sides to this coin and the matter won't be settled until we once again have a proper Authority to do so.

To attend an Anglican 'anything' is grounds for mortal sin. It is a seperate religion entirely from the Roman Catholic Church and it has been forbidden by many Popes in the past that Catholics go there. The 'priesthood' the anglicans have has also been denounced by past Popes. My charitable advice is go straight to confession ASAP and attend a traditional mass (sspx, independent...etc.) God bless!

You are quite incorrect actually the ordinary at liturgy is the Catholic mass it is essentially the Tridentine mass in English authorized by the church under Benedict the 16th and offered by valid Catholic priests

Looking at the picture of Francis standing, I got sudden feeling that this standing is an act of defiance and contempt.

Unknown,

The Anglican Ordinariate's Divine Worship is a Catholic Mass, in full communion with the See of Rome. It is a third form of the Roman Rite, instituted in the wake of Benedict XVI's Anglicanorum Coetibus. As Vox writes, In many ways, it is very much like the Latin Mass in hieratic English, and suffers from none of the defects of the Novus Ordo.

§2 of the new 838th canon does not even explicitly restrict the increased interference by Episcopal Conferences to translations, so it is possible that this §2 will be exploited to adapt not only the vernacular translations of the novus ordo rite, but also to adapt the rite in its other aspects, so that this section of the new version of the canon will be cited in favour of locally self-made liturgies popping up everywhere. Such localised 'craft of rites' was already taking place, as we all know, but it seems that the novus ordo rite is about to lose the weak appearances of unification that it now has, and such will only increase the velocity of its inevitable demise.

The novus ordo rite is bound to destroy itself at some point, and, after the implosion, the Roman Rite (which today is called "Tridentine") will be restored and established in the Latin Rite churches. No one, not even Francis, a Roman Pontiff, can stop this. The life of the Church alternates between affliction and consolation, and after this post-conciliar time of affliction, Divine Providence will indeed bring upon His Church solace and consolation. And His Divine Majesty will say to the sea of anguish that now oppresses her: "Usque huc venies, et non procedes amplius, et hic confringes tumentes fluctus tuos." [Book of Job, Chapter 38] - "Hitherto thou shalt come, and shalt go no further, and here thou shalt break thy swelling waves."

Indeed, there is a divine barrier within the Church that subversive spirits cannot cross, and after the present hour of darkness, the healing rays of a new dawn will scare away the demons of the night that have lifted up their proud heels against the Lord and His Christ.

May Ever-Blessed Mary, the Royal Virgin, and Saint Joseph, intercede for the Church Militant on earth.

I agree with Benjamin Van Dyck - the implosion has already begun & will continue in this centenary year of Fatima. Faithful Catholics mustn't become dispirited but ever hopeful & trusting in Our Lord & His Blessed Mother. Their commitment to us miserable sinners( but still followers of Christ) never wavers. It's only a matter of time before all is exposed & expunged, so don't become downcast but lift your eyes Heavenwards.

I welcome the destruction of the NO. I hope this introduces even more bizarre practices by the imposters who occupy our Churches.

Yes indeed- two words come to mind: Non Serviam

If the NO implodes, does that thus mean it was never from God? The time is no to remove your personal support from all hierarchy that promulgates the NO. Stop giving them $$$

Dan, if that's not out there already, with these people who think chasing "youth" is going to fill the pews.
In my darker moments I fear this papacy will go on for years unimpeded, but generally I feel hopeful and do expect the Lord to intervene, or return! Being the year of Fatima has helped. There is no way all that we are seeing is not significant. After 1950 years the Church apostasizes, total solar eclipse, blood moons (yes I know that's Protestant, it doesn't change it), and the week of a solar eclipse, the unprecedented hurricanes in the US, earthquake in Mexico. These are apocalyptic times. We must remain hopeful because God will not leave us orphaned.

Kathleen, don't forget the Sept. 23, 2017 constellation of the Virgin with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars. They say this has never happened before and it sounds like the Revelation description.

People are getting slightly different interpretations of this new Motu Proprio. The Remnant has an article about it that says that, regions or Diocese or even whole countries now have the power to limit or even forbid the TLM if they so desire. The CDW won't stop them because the 'Pope' has pretty much disassembled it in 2016 when he dismissed most of the conservative Cardinals and appointed all of his fellow modernists. Looking back, it's for this moment that he did what he did. In that entire process he rendered Cardinal Sarah pretty much impotent in any decision making. The Bishops have to submit their 'revisions' to the CDW for approval. Has anyone seen the cast of characters that now make up the CDW?? Are they going to deny liberal liturgies that are submitted? On the other hand, are they going to approve conservative ones? Also Bishops now have the power to squash the TLM, forbid Communion on the tongue, require us to stand during the Consecration etc. Will they go so far as to deny us Communion for whatever reason? I'm just not sure how far this disaster is going to go, but I am PRAYING God will intervene. The implications could be disastrous and a complete obliteration of the Mass. It's how I'm understanding it anyway. I PRAY I am wrong!!

The twitteratti who explode with "effervescent praise" are, I think in many cases, probably not Catholics.

Can anybody tell me if Francis "the humble" has a knee problem or suffers from any form of arthritis??

Anonymous said...

If he does, he's still able to kneel to Muslims to kiss their feet.

Anonymous said...

To Anonymous at 11:22am,
Only when he is before the Blessed Sacrament. When there are infidels present he humbly kneels before them to wash and kiss their feet.
I wish I were exaggerating but this is 100% true.

I agree with you, Tom A. The crazier the better. The last N.O. I attended was fairly reverent and included some Latin---in the end it made it more difficult to identify the heresies within. Attending an independent chapel now.
