National Catholic Reporter has racist view of Cardinal Sarah. Don't #AfricanCardinalsMatter?

If Francis does nothing to make such structural and juridical changes, it is not inconceivable that when the overwhelmingly conservative College of Cardinals elects his successor -- and most likely in the not too distant future -- the new pope would reverse the movement for reform that's currently underway.
And if it were a Pope Cyprian I or Pius XIII (also known as Cardinal Robert Sarah), the reversal would be swift and uncompromising. Of course, they'd have to tear down the walls of our churches to prevent people from crushing each other in the mass exodus that might cause.

"....overwhelmingly conservative College of Cardinals..." Say what? You mean the one that gave us Pope Francis. Anyway, I do hope they are correct in their fear and that Cardinal Sarah becomes Pope. Maybe Our Lady of Fatima will make this happen as our very last chance before God says, "enough already".

Vox, please note the following:

Here is an excerpt from a lengthy interview with Sacra Liturgia’s international coordinator, Dom Alcuin Reid, in regard to the recent London conference and the reactions to Robert Cardinal Sarah’s Address.

http://www.catholicworldreport.com/Item/4919/cardinal_sarah_has_challenged_the_prejudices_behind_certain_modern_liturgical_practices.aspx

CWR: Have you been surprised by the response outside the conference and by the Vatican’s “clarification”?

Dom Alcuin Reid: "It has to be said that some responses on internet sites and even in prominent journals have been astonishing. To accuse Cardinal Sarah of lying in respect of what Pope Francis has said to him about continuing the work of the Pope Emeritus or about studying a possible reform of the reform, or to say that the Holy Father ‘slapped down’ the Cardinal, is patently absurd and utterly untrue.

"And there is no evidence from the Vatican’s statement, or elsewhere, that the Holy Father was either angry with him or rebuked him. It is quite normal to clarify false reports: that is what has been done – though the clarification itself could perhaps do with some clarification!

"Cardinal Sarah remains in post and his Address has not been withdrawn. Indeed, it should be noted that he asked us to publish it after his meeting with the Holy Father, and he has withdrawn nothing of what he said in London."

The first point above doesn't make sense. If we had a "Pius XIII" Pope, obviously in the manner of the last Pius, Venerable Pius XII, then we would have a Pope who would be open to liberalism. Pope Venerable Pius XII was far from a reactionary, crackdown Pope. He was a Pope of many liberal reforms, particularly in regard to liturgy.

Robert Cardinal Sarah has made it very clear that he is a man of Vatican II, the "accursed" Council, according to Traditionalists. He is of the school that the "authentic" Vatican II has not been implemented. Rather, the false "spirit of the Vatican II" has been implemented.

Cardinal Sarah, as he made clear during his recent address at the Sacra Liturgica conference, defends and promotes Vatican II, in particular, the liturgical reform promoted by the Council.

It would be interesting to see whether Traditionalists would accept Pope "Sarah" or resist him. After all, Traditionalists insist that Vatican II has been implemented properly. They insist that is the problem with the Church. They insist that that is why the Church has collapsed...precisely due to the implementation of Vatican II.

Cardinal Sarah is a staunch defender and supporter of Vatican II. Traditionalists despise Vatican II and call for its destruction.

Anyway, if Cardinal Sarah becomes "Pope Pius XIII", then Robert Mickens' notion that Cardinal Sarah would be a right-wing, crackdown Pope is baseless. Cardinal Sarah would operate along the line of Venerable Pope Pius XII/Vatican II, which would entail a mixture of Traditional and liberal Catholicism...in line with our Popes from Venerable Pius XII to Francis.

Robert Mickens said..."And if it were a Pope Cyprian I or Pius XIII (also known as Cardinal Robert Sarah), the reversal would be swift and uncompromising. Of course, they'd have to tear down the walls of our churches to prevent people from crushing each other in the mass exodus that might cause."

I would agree with Robert Mickens' second point...if...if his first point were valid. If Pope Pius XIII (Cardinal Sarah) were the Pius-like Pope that Mr. Mickens envisions, then Mr. Mickens has a point...an ultraconservative, crackdown Pius Pope would spur tens of millions of Catholics to leave the Church.

The decades-old rot and collapse of the sense of the Faith is so deep and widespread throughout the Church that Catholics would simply revolt...and bolt...from a Church led by a right-wing, crackdown Pope.

But Cardinal Sarah is not a right-wing Pian-like Pope. In fact, the last Pius Pope, Venerable Pius XII, was far removed from a right-wing, crackdown Pope. He was in many ways a liberal Pope who launched the liturgical/ecumenical revolutions and paved the way to Vatican II.

Cardinal Sarah is a man of Vatican II. Via addresses and interviews, Cardinal Sarah has made it clear that he is a man of Vatican II and is 100 percent in favor of the Council's decrees.

Therefore, Robert Mickens has misrepresented Cardinal Sarah. That is why I don't support Mr. Mickens' premise that as Pope, Cardinal Sarah would empty the Church.

In fact, Cardinal Sarah has praised Pope Francis' orthodoxy and loyalty to Holy Mother Church. In that light, I don't have any doubt that as Pope, Cardinal Sarah would prove to be just as holy and caring as Popes Francis, Benedict XVI, Saint John Paul II, John Paul I, Blessed Paul VI, Saint John XXIII, and Venerable Pius XII (the Popes with whom I am most familiar).

I simply don't accept Robert Mickens' portrait of Cardinal Sarah.

The exodus would be of those poor souls who have been successfully protestantised by the novus ordo and are no longer Catholics.
