Cardinal Schönborn took instruction from laity on papal vote - Did he channel Mahony's pen demon?

Well, what do we have here?

The Beer Mass approving, and Balloon Mass celebrating, Rock Mass aficionado and gay-positive embracing, Medjugorjan sycophant Cardinal Archbishop of Vienna, had two mystical experiences directing him to vote for Jorge Bergoglio as Pope of Rome.

Wow, this is just like old pervert protecting, Marxist heresiarch Roger Mahony wrote:

"I picked up my pen to write, and I began.  However, my hand was being moved by some greater spiritual force.  The name on the ballot just happened.  I had not yet narrowed my thinking down to one name; but it was done for me. I wrote it, then trembled deeply.  That's when I knew the Holy Spirit was fully working within the Church of Jesus Christ, and that my role was not to "select" the new Successor to Peter, but to "write down" his name--a name that had been given to me."

Cardinal Christoph Schönborn met up after a Mass with a couple of South Americans he knew and said to them:

"You have the Holy Spirit, can you give me advice for the Conclave that will start in a few hours? And the woman whispered in my ear ‘Bergoglio’, and it hit me really: if these people say Bergoglio, that’s an indication of the Holy Spirit.

This simply man has news for these two Cardinals.

It might have been a spirit, but it wasn't Holy!

You both need exorcisms.

Read it and weep.

Pope Francis elected after supernatural 'signs' in the Conclave – Cardinal

From John Bingham, Religious Affairs Editor, The Telegraph
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/the-pope/10056994/Pope-Francis-elected-after-supernatural-signs-in-the-Conclave-says-Cardinal.html

Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, the Archbishop of Vienna, who was himself widely tipped as a possible successor to Pope Benedict, said he had personally had two “strong signs” that Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was “the chosen one” in the run up to vote. The "Chosen One?" Chosen by whom? Would it be the one who directed Cardinal McCarrick to "talk (Bergoglio) up?"

He said only divine intervention could explain the speed with which the Argentine Cardinal - who did not feature on any of the main lists of likely candidates compiled by Vatican experts - was elected. (Pope Benedict was quite clear, the Holy Spirit does not elect the Pope, at best, he prevents these men from electing someone who would totally destroy the Church. The Holy Spirit influences and guides but these men must be docile and based upon what we know about the period leading up to the conclave, they were anything but docile. They were lobbying, and had outside influence.)

Speaking to an Anglican conference in London, he also said the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Justin Welby, had a “strange similarity” to the new Pope. (Yeah, I'd believe it.)

He said that the two elections were a “little miracle” and a “sign from the Lord” that the two churches should work towards closer unity. (Only in his dreams maybe. Perhaps he's not heard of Anglicanorum Coetibus, that was the "little miracle.")

Addressing an audience of 5,000 people in the Royal Albert Hall, at a conference organised by the prominent Holy Trinity Brompton church in west London, he said that he was certain that on the evening of March 12, as the papal Conclave began, none of the Cardinals had known who would be chosen. (Some did)

“It was a tremendous experience of the Holy Spirit,” he said. (the god of surprises, maybe.)

“We were driven by the Holy Spirit to this man – he was sitting in the last corner of the Sistine Chapel: This man he is the chosen one.” (more like groupthink)

He added: “I received at least two strong signs: one I can tell, the other was in the Conclave I can’t speak about – but real signs of the Lord giving me indication ‘he is the one’.”

The Cardinal said that just after a special mass before the Conclave began he came across a couple from Latin America who are friends of his.

He said: “I met them outside the Basilica and I asked: ‘You have the Holy Spirit, can you give me advice for the Conclave that will start in a few hours?’

“And the woman whispered in my ear ‘Bergoglio’, and it hit me really: if these people say Bergoglio, that’s an indication of the Holy Spirit. (!!!)

“And I’m sure many of us have received similar signs during the Conclave, it wouldn’t have been possible to have this election so soon and so rapidly.” (The fact that it was so quick after what happened to Benedict XVI was a sign to me as I awaited the Habemus Papam that something was terribly wrong. When he came out, I wanted to vomit for hours.)

To applause, the Cardinal went on: “You know there is a strange similarity with your Archbishop Justin, I hope so much that they will meet soon.”

Laughing, he added: “I don’t know the secrets of the ‘conclave’ at Lambeth Palace.

“But it looks like a little miracle that he became the Archbishop, so I think the Lord as given us a great sign through these two elections and other signs and what I have deeply in my heart … it is as if he would say to the world ‘come home, I wait for you’.”

Wow, it's astonishing to learn we have 2 prestigious princes of the Church who are also mystics! Any day now we will hear that Cardinal Wuerl levitates, the Pope has the stigmata, and Bugnini's body is incorrupt!

Given how a friend of mine anointed it on his last trip to Rome, I'm not so sure about Bugnini's incorruption. Asperges!

Vox said..."Pope Benedict was quite clear, the Holy Spirit does not elect the Pope, at best, he prevents these men from electing someone who would totally destroy the Church."

Vox, I believe it was then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, in 1997 A.D., on Bavarian television, who was asked whether the Holy Ghost chooses the Pope. Then-Cardinal Ratzinger replied:

"I would not say so, in the sense that the Holy Spirit picks out the Pope…I would say that the Spirit does not exactly take control of the affair, but rather like a good educator, as it were, leaves us much space, much freedom, without entirely abandoning us. Thus the Spirit’s role should be understood in a much more elastic sense, not that he dictates the candidate for whom one must vote. Probably the only assurance he offers is that the thing cannot be totally ruined."

Vox, that was then-Cardinal Ratzinger's opinion. It could be argued that his opinion is right or wrong.

I would add the following to the mix: Each Good Friday via the Traditional Roman Liturgy, Holy Mother Church prays:

"Let us pray for our most holy Father Pope (Francis), that our Lord and God, ******* Who chose him to the order of the Episcopate*******, may keep him in health and safety for His holy Church to govern the holy people of God."

Via our Holy Liturgy, we know that God has chosen to the Episcopate His Holiness Pope Francis. The Good Friday Solemn Intercession continues...

"Almighty and everlasting God, by Whose judgement all things are established, mercifully regard our prayers, and in Thy goodness *******preserve the Bishop chosen for us:"*******

It may be argued the Church's official prayer in question goes beyond that which then-Cardinal Ratzinger said. Perhaps the Holy Ghost plays a more concrete role in choosing the Pope than then-Cardinal Ratzinger's opinion offered.

Vox, perhaps the Holy Ghost inspired the selection of Pope Francis to bring about peace between Rome and the SSPX...a peace that is destined to unleash the TLM in major fashion throughout the Church. A peace that Bishop Fellay has said that Rome has acknowledged will aid the Church in helping to overcome the crisis of faith that has engulfed Her.

Regardless, we must pray for His Holiness Pope Francis in line with Holy Mother Church's beautiful prayers offered for Her Roman Pontiff. Let us especially entreat the Blessed Virgin Mary to protect and inspire Pope Francis. We must prayer for our spiritual father/brother Pope Francis. Peace.

Pax.

It should be "Archbishop of Canterbury" - Anglicans don't have valid Orders. Otherwise, I totally agree with you.

You are very optimistic. Remember what happened to the FFI - and they were in full communion with the Holy See!
I think that Bishop Fellay shouldn't rush things. Most of all, he needs our prayers.

That's it, the pseudo-reformers always blame "the Holy Spirit" for the mess they make.

Sounds like the same greater spiritual force that inspired him to overrule Father Gerhard Swierzek, allowing a homosexual in the parish council.
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/austrian-priest-overruled-by-cardinal-regarding-homosexual-on-parish-council
VIENNA, April 11, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Coming only a few days after Easter, the resignation of Father Gerhard Swierzek, the pastor of a parish in the Archdiocese of Vienna, has been hailed by homosexualist activists in the Catholic Church as a victory. Fr. Swierzek had refused to allow an active homosexual, Florian Stangl, who is living in a legal registered partnership with another man, to sit on the parish council in the town of Stützenhofen.

The Austrian Independent reported Tuesday that Fr. Swierzek has asked his superiors for another assignment. He said he was “saddened” that the cardinal archbishop of Vienna met with Stangl and his partner but had refused to meet with him about the situation.

@ Mark

Be realistic. Do you honestly believe the revival of TLM is even remotely possible while Francis is the Pope? I'm afraid it's not. He does not care for it. Just read his sad memories of Mass while he was an altar boy, watch his modernist tango services while he was still a cardinal, when he became Pope read his comments on TLM as "just a fashion", etc. I could go on and on. Make a logical conclusion, please.

Discernment of good and bad spirits is a difficult matter. Considering the results the latest conclave it is not outlandish to suggest that the spirits directing the election of Pope Francis were evil. Of course, as we all know, God uses bad spirits for good purposes. For example, Pope Francis might be a destroyer so that a new Pope will build something needed and wonderful in the eyes of God. We must always be hopeful.

To: Anonymous at 6:40 A.M.:

The TLM Movement has continued to thrive throughout Pope Francis' reign. He has changed dramatically Rome's relationship with the SSPX. He has placed the SSPX on the irreversible path to regularization. Do you doubt that a regularized SSPX would increase significantly the TLM's presence throughout the Church?

Bishop Fellay has said that in the pending Rome-SSPX agreement, there is a statement that Rome views the SSPX as a helper to Holy Mother Church in Her time of great need. Bishop Fellay also noted that Pope Francis is prepared to grant an additional bishop to the SSPX.

The revival of the TLM is unstoppable. His Holiness Pope Francis will strengthen the TLM's revival to an even greater extent upon his regularization of the SSPX. I am not the one who needs to be realistic. I am not the one who needs to reach a logical conclusion. Pope Francis is the SSPX's greatest friend within the Church. It is undeniable that Pope Francis has and will strengthen the TLM's revival.

Again, the Super Trads, rather than Pope Francis, are the greatest enemy to the TLM's revival. Super Trads attempt daily to poison the TLM's revival as they work to convince people that the SSPX, FSSP, ICK, and all TLM communities in communion with Holy Mother Church are "heretical".

It is the Super Trads, the folks who fancy themselves as the only "true" Catholics on earth, who attempt daily to drive from the Church those among the Faithful who are attached to the TLM. Super Trads attempt daily to poison the TLM's revival within the Church via their vicious attacks against the Faithful attached to the TLM.

Anonymous, you need to urge Super Trads to become realistic and logical.

Pax.

Catholic Diocese to reopen city church
By KATHRYN MARCHOCKI
Staff Writer

"NASHUA - The Catholic Diocese of Manchester [New Hampshire] plans to reopen the former St. Stanislaus Parish in Nashua as a separate parish in which Masses and the entire life of the parish will follow the traditional Latin rite liturgy, church officials said Thursday.

"This is the first time the diocese, which encompasses all of New Hampshire, will open a new parish in at least 15 years - an era marked by many parish mergers, a high-ranking church official said.

"It is also the first church-sanctioned parish to open in New England that will be dedicated solely to the traditional liturgy that was in force in 1962 prior to the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, the church official said."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anonymous, the revival of the TLM continues on Pope Francis' watch. Despite claims three years ago that Pope Francis would "outlaw" the TLM, the unstoppable TLM revival has continued. Despite claims that Pope Francis would excommunicate the SSPX as well as "ban" the FSSP, ICK, etc., the TLM revival has continued throughout his Pontificate.

Now, what did you ask? Oh, yeah..."Be realistic. Do you honestly believe the revival of TLM is even remotely possible while Francis is the Pope?"

The Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire, just answered your question.

Pax.
