Vatican's fools will turn out the lights; I will turn all mine on including Christmas lights at 8PM EDT just to spite them!

(Vatican Radio) The lights of the Cupola atop St. Peter’s Basilica are to go dark on the evening of Saturday, March 19th, along with those that illumine Bernini’s colonnade embracing St. Peter’s Square. From 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM in the evening, the lights shall remain dark on the occasion of the 2016 iteration of Earth Hour – an initiative promoted by the World Wildlife Fund International, in which the Vatican City State is participating.
The lights illuminating the two fountains in the Square and the four candelabra surrounding the central obelisk will remain shining, however, along with those that light the two “arms” stretching from either side of the Basilica’s narthex and signed by the two great equestrian statues of Constantine and Charlemagne, north and south, respectively.

For true pleasure, I run the dryer that hour, too!
(and think less-than-stellar thoughts about all the left-leaning sheep out there!)

Are they doing anything for St. Joseph's, just out of curiosity?

I am confused. Is there not a need to conserve energy and respect the earth as a gift from God. This does not seem to be leftist. It seems Catholic.

Every hour is earth hour in North Korea.

It is an attempt to enforce globalist conformity and obedience to a Marxist agenda. I sit here with electricity generated by nuclear power which cannot be turned off and Niagara Falls which does not stop. There is no saving. Electricity cannot be stored if not used. If it is not used, it disappears.

Of course we are to be good stewards of the earth.

There is nothing Catholic about "Earth Hour." It is of the antichrist who is trying to condition you to think as him and everyone else.

When it comes to these globalists, non serviam!

A better idea would be to permanently turn off the lights in the Vatican, lock the windows & doors & vacate the premises.

A empty and meaningless gesture that will do nothing to stop the mass animal deaths worldwide ,or the radioactive pollution of the Pacific from Fukushima. They should have offered a Mass in thanksgiving to God for his Creation .Why celebrate the Earth ,and not the one who made it. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.
